"They've all been pretty tough. I think the one thing about this Indian attack is they're all slightly different. "If you think you are getting used to one of them, they just come at you with different challenges all the time so you know it's really tough to pick them. They've all been really, really good this series," the batsman, who has pulled out of the IPL ahead of the T20 World Cup, said.

"It's not because he's not a great bowler, he is a serious bowler. He is one of the best spinners that's ever played the game, but you know, it's hard for me to comment on why he wouldn't be playing," he said when asked if he was surprised about Ashwin missing all the four Tests.

"...If you look at the conditions and if you were playing two spinners he would probably be tougher (Ravindra Jadeja). I guess the captain, or the leadership of the Indian team probably had the decision to make between Jadeja or Ashwin and they went the other way.

As per some reports, Shami suffered a fractured arm. According to news agency ANI, Shami has been ruled out of the Test series, though an official confirmation on the same from BCCI is still awaited.

India's former skipper Sunil Gavaskar said that Shami's absence will be a big blow for Team India. “It (Shami injury) is a big problem. he has the knack of taking wickets, he can shock the opposition with his bouncers and yorkers. If he is not playing, then it’s going to be trouble for India,” Gavaskar told Sports Tak.

Gavaskar went as far as to suggest that India should immediately bring in Ishant Sharma if he is fit. “If Ishant Sharma is fit, I am suggesting to send him to Australia now. If he is capable of bowling 20 overs in a day, the management should send him to Australia on tomorrow’s flight so that he can be ready for the Sydney Test,” he said.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) intervened after Indian pacer Mohammad Shami's visa application was rejected by the US Embassy, a source said.&nbsp;

Shami's visa application was initially rejected by the Embassy as his police verification record was incomplete, however, the BCCI source confirmed that&nbsp;the board stepped in and took care of it.&nbsp;

In the recently concluded Cricket World Cup in England and Wales, Shami was in the top as he scalped 14 wickets in just four matches.&nbsp;

But before the World Cup, Shami remained in the headlines after his ex-wife Hasin Jahan accused him of domestic violence and filed an FIR against him.&nbsp;

Shami is part of India's ODIs and Tests squad for the upcoming West Indies tour, which is comprised of three T20 Internationals, three ODIs followed by two Test matches.&nbsp;

In a major setback for Mohammed Shami, the Kolkata police Thursday charged the Indian pacer under IPC 498A and 354A for alleged dowry harassment and sexual harassment respectively.

After this charge sheet, Shami's World Cup campaign could be in jeopardy as the next hearing of the case has been kept on June 22, while the ICC tournament starts from May 30.

Mohammad Shami's estranged wife Hasin Jahan has demanded Rs 10 lakh maintenance per month for the interim period when the case is on.

Hasin has demanded Rs 7 lakh as family maintenance while Rs three lakh per month for the child.

As per media reports, Hasin's lawyer said the court has understood the significance of the litigation and has hence decided to hear it on urgent basis.&nbsp;

He added that the court has also asked Shami to clarify his point immediately.

He further expressed confidence that his client will definitely win the case.&nbsp;

The lawyer also confirmed that the pacer's wife has filed the domestic violence case against Shami, his mother, elder brother, sister and sister-in-law.

These are the same persons against whom Jahan had lodged a police complaint on March 8 at Jadavpur police station.&nbsp;
