Hengaw, a Norway-based human rights group that monitors the situation in Kurdistan, said on Wednesday that Iranian security forces opened fire on protesters in Saqez – the hometown of Mahsa Amini. The incident took place during a gathering to mark 40 days of Amini's death.&nbsp;

According to Hengaw's post on Twitter, protesters ignored official warnings and gathered at Amini's grave which resulted in the security forces&nbsp;using&nbsp;guns and tear gas to disperse the crowd.&nbsp;

Her custodial death led to protests all around Iran with many women burning hijabs and cutting their hair.&nbsp;

During a speech at the United Nations Security Council on Thursday (October 21), the Iranian deputy ambassador to the global body rejected the idea of Western countries serving as 'caretakers' for women in Iran amid violence and protest.&nbsp;

Rights groups have claimed that more than 150 people have been killed since the protests began on September 17 following the death of Amini, who was detained for not following the Islamic dress code.

Mahsa Amini protests: Iranian state TV hacked during live broadcast, anti-regime messages flashed

The Iranian people’s protest against the custodial death of a 22-year-old woman has spilled over worldwide, with the diaspora community and activists holding agitations against the Tehran government.

In 159 major cities worldwide like Auckland, London, Melbourne, New York, Paris, Rome, Seoul, Stockholm, Sydney and Zurich, protesters marched under the slogan “Women, life, liberty” seeking greater freedom and autonomy for women in Iran.

Many of the protesters are Iranians living in exile.&nbsp;

According to reports, the agitators in these cities assembled at the Islamic Republic’s embassies or consulates or main squares, chanting slogans against the regime, such as&nbsp;“Death to the dictator,” in reference to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

On Saturday, several thousand people marched in Montreal and other Canadian cities in solidarity with protests sparked by the death of Mahsa Amini in the custody of Iran's notorious morality police.

In Rome, around 1,000 people took to the streets to vent their anger at the regime.

"With this regime, it is not possible to receive human rights, that's all. Now is the time for all of us to think that we have the ability to change this 43-year-long oppression," Euronews quoted Sahar, who's been living in Italy for 10 years.

Protests in solidarity with Mahsa Amini killed in Iran spill across 159 cities worldwide

Nine people from several European countries were arrested by the Iranian security forces for allegedly participating in the protests against the custodial death of the 22 years old woman Mahsa Amini last month.

According to reports, the nine people are from Germany, Poland, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and other countries.

"The intelligence ministry on Friday said that they were detained during the riots or while plotting in the background,”&nbsp;the Iranian media said.

The ministry added that the relevant embassies, including Germany, France, UK and Sweden, were warned over the involvement of their 'agents'&nbsp;in the anti-government protests, BBC reported.

For the past three weeks, the country has been rocked by widespread protests, which have, at times, turned violent, resulting in the death of civilians.

Though there is no official figure, the activists from Iran Human Rights (IHR), a Norway-based organisation, have claimed that at least 76 protesters have been killed by Iranian security forces.

Notably, women have been taking to the streets by removing their headscarves in public and cutting their hair in protest against the strict rules on women's dress and general behaviour.

Moreover, reports have claimed that 19 more people died on Friday following a standoff between protesters and police at a police station in Zahedan, the provincial capital of the southeastern Sistan-Baluchistan province.

The agitation began after the death of 22-year-old Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini, who was arrested by Iran's morality police for allegedly violating the mandatory dress code.
