<p>The accident occurred near Badjhar Ghat at around 1:30 am when the vehicle's driver lost control of the wheel.</p>

<p>The victims had gone to Amhai Devri village to participate in a programme in the district's Shahpura block and were returning when the incident took place.</p>

Instructions have been given to the district administration for proper treatment of the injured."</p>

<p>The chief of the Madhya Pradesh Congress unit on Saturday (Feb 17) strongly denied rumours of senior leader Kamal Nath joining the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Jitu Patwari said Kamal Nath is "Indira Gandhi's third son" and he will not quit the party. Indira Gandhi was the third prime minister of India from 1966 to 1977 and again from 1980 until her assassination in 1984.</p>

<p>“For the first time when Kamal Nath fought elections, then Indira Gandhi said that Kamal Nath is her third son...in the 45 years of political journey of Kamal Nath, in both our good times and bad times, he has been working with the party for the last 7 years as Madhya Pradesh Congress chief,” Patwari said while talking to the media.</p>

<p>"At least eight people had very serious injuries... we are here at the site and focussed on rescue work and sending people to the hospitals, so we can't immediately confirm the number of dead," said Kailash Chand Parte, a senior district official who was co-ordinating rescue effort.</p>

<p>Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has taken cognisance of the tragedy and said that instructions had been given to major hospitals in the areas to "make necessary preparations".</p>

<p>Local media reported that some fringe elements allegedly pelted stones at a rally of young people, who were distributing Akshat (rice) for the Ram Temple.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The rally was passing through the Magaria neighbourhood in the city and the people in procession were giving Akshat. However, they got into an argument with some unidentified people when they arrived at the Moti Masjid area of Magaria.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Reports said that there was a stampede at the rally after the verbal argument escalated into stone pelting. Members of Hindu organisations also arrived at the scene soon as reports of the incident spread.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A police official said that one person was injured in the incident which took place in the Magaria area on Monday evening.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The official added that adequate security has been deployed in the area and an FIR has been&nbsp;registered in this connection. One person was reportedly injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per reports, Shajapur Collector Riju Bafna said that Section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed with immediate effect in three areas - Magaria, Kachhiwada and Lalpura.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He added the situation is currently peaceful and a case has been registered against the miscreants and further legal action is being taken.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The private bus collided head-on with the dumper on Guna-Aaron road, the official said, adding that the injured were rushed to the Guna district hospital for treatment.</p>

<p>Twelve bus passengers were charred to death and 14 others sustained injuries, Guna district's Superintendent of Police (SP) told PTI news agency.</p>

<p>The ill-fated bus was on its way to Aaron while the dumper was headed towards Guna when the accident occurred at around 9 pm, police said.</p>

<p>The SP said there were around 30 passengers in the bus at the time of the accident.</p>

<p>Four of them somehow managed to come out of the bus and have gone home.</p>

<p>In a message on X, Union Civil Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia termed the incident as "painful" and said, "Soon after getting information about the incident, I spoke to the collector and SP and directed them to start a relief and rescue operation."</p>

<p>Scindia also condoled the demise of the passengers.</p>

<p>The newly elected Madhya Pradesh assembly has courted controversy after the Congress blamed the BJP for removing the&nbsp;portrait of former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and replacing it with one of Dr BR Ambedkar, known as the father of Indian Constitution.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Congress, which recently lost the assembly election&nbsp;in the central Indian state, said it was a laudable move that Ambedkar's portrait was installed but it shouldn't have come at the cost of Nehru's omission.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"If the BJP had honest intentions, it could have placed the photo of Nehru along with Gandhi and Ambedkar. But it is the culture of the BJP to disrespect the freedom fighters and the nation-builder and therefore, it has removed the photo of Nehru," the Madhya Pradesh Congress posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.</p>

<p>While Congress played the blame game, Assembly Principal Secretary AP Singh informed that the portrait was removed as it was in bad condition.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The then Speaker Girish Gautam had directed to replace the portrait (of Nehru) in the last session in July as it was very old and getting worn out," Singh was quoted as saying by news agency <em>PTI.&nbsp;</em></p>

<p>"As Ambedkar's 125th birth anniversary was being observed at that time, the speaker directed to put his portrait in place of Nehru and also ensured that Nehru's portrait was kept in a respectful manner in the Gandhi-Nehru section of the library," Singh said, adding that it was a short session and Congress members may not have noticed the change back then.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The first session of the assembly began on Monday with&nbsp;pro tem speaker Gopal Bhargava in charge of the House. The four-day session commenced a week after BJP won the state yet again.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Newly elected government in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, has announced new bans just days after taking the helm. On Wednesday, soon after assuming the Chief Minister's office, Mohan Yadav ordered a ban on the "unregulated use of loudspeakers" in religious places and other public places. The&nbsp;Opposition has slammed the ban, calling it an "excuse for dispute".</p>

<h2><strong>The ban</strong></h2>

<p>Speaking to the press after his first cabinet meeting, Yadav said, "Today we have taken several discussions during the first Cabinet meeting. We have raised the issue of meat sales in the open and have proposed to bring rules for this, in the Cabinet meeting today."</p>

<p>"They (BJP) are looking for some excuse for a dispute. Whatever they can do but there should not be any dispute in the society, this is our aim. It is our culture of living together and of love, said,&nbsp;former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath on the order.</p>

<p>Nath made the remark while talking to reporters in Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara district on Thursday.</p>

<p>Suggesting that the win in three states is a sign of BJP securing a third straight term in New Delhi, Modi, while delivering a speech at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi,&nbsp;said: "Some people are even saying that today's hattrick has guaranteed the hattrick in 2024."</p>
