<p>The Indian Film Festival Of Melbourne, one of the biggest international Indian film festivals outside of the country, has just announced its nominations for its annual awards ceremony.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
This year the festival is launching three categories under the belt of web shows. The festival will recognise Best Series, Best Performance in a series each under the Actor and Actress category.<br />
<br />
This list of names includes extraordinary films of 2021 such as `Ludo` directed by Anurag Basu, Vidya Balan-starrer `Sherni` directed by Amit Masukar, `Soorarai Pottru` (Tamil) that stars and is produced by Suriya and directed by Sudha Kongara and `God on the Balcony`, an Assamese film starring Harish Khanna and directed by Biswajeet Bora.<br />

With over 100 films whose screening will be held during the event, this will be a celebration of diversity and the best of Indian cinema in all its forms. &nbsp;<br />
<br />
Keeping up with the growing trend of OTT shows dominating entertainment content consumption, the festival will recognise Best Series, Best Performance in a series each under the Actor and Actress category. The consideration of these shows are limited to only those platforms which are available to the Australian audiences. This what’s nominations will see films and content which were released between August 2020 to July 2021.<br />

The 2017 Tamil film starred actress Aditi Balan in the lead role. Balan`s protagonist Aruvi was deemed a progressive, post-modern symbol of feminism by most viewers.<br />

"I look forward to dive deep into the skin of the character. I am really excited to embark on this journey," said Fatima.<br />

Director Niwas added: "`Aruvi` is not just a story of a hero. It`s a triumph over the labyrinths of life. It`s totally euphoric, and a privilege to explore one of the most beautiful cinematic characters I have come across. Fatima Sana Shaikh is an absolutely befitting choice."<br />

The Hindi remake is expected to go on floors in mid-2021.<br />

Circumstances lead him to the Inayat's character- a seven-year-old who is too smart for her age and who herself pines for the attention of her busy parents. As a result, the film appears to be long. With multiple chase sequence and several intertwining of plots, it can become a task to keep track of each of the stories. It is certainly a bit chaotic but the flaw is salvaged because of the detailed screenplay which most often leaves you smiling.&nbsp;</p>

'Ludo' does not have as many songs as Basu's last screen outing 'Jagga Jasoos' but even then they are beautiful and leave the last impression. If 'Aabaad Barbaad' is about unrequited love, in 'Meri Tum Ho' love takes ownership. The songs are so picturesque - you want to keep watching them over and over again.</p>
