Speaking to the BBC and others in an interview published on Wednesday, the seven-times world champion and most successful driver in the sport's history with a record 103 wins said it was normal to ask such questions. Has it gone?'," said the Briton, who ended the season third overall.

"Because you're missing that, you know... when the magic happens, when everything comes together, the car and you, and that spark, it's extraordinary. And that's what you're in the search for. "I'm only human," he added. "If anyone&nbsp;in the world tells you they don't have those things, they're in denial. We're all human beings."

Hamilton last won a race in Saudi Arabia in December 2021 when he was battling Red Bull's Max Verstappen for the title, with the Dutch driver ultimately prevailing in controversial circumstances in Abu Dhabi. Verstappen and his team won both titles last year and have enjoyed the most dominant season ever this season, Red Bull winning 21 of 22 races and the now triple champion a record 19 of them.

Hamilton said he knew it would be another tough year before it had even started when he tested the car and it felt no different. The Briton was complaining already at the opening race in Bahrain that Mercedes were on the wrong track and had not listened to him. The team, who still ended the year second overall, have since changed concept for 2024 with team boss Toto Wolff saying in Abu Dhabi last weekend that almost every component was being changed.

"I do believe we have a North Star now, which I don't think we've had for two years. But still getting there is not a straight line," said Hamilton. "I think we understand the car so much better. They have developed great tools in the background. So, naturally, I'm hopeful. But I'm not going to hold my breath."

Hamilton signed a new contract in August and running to the end of 2025, meaning he will race on into his 40s if he sees it out.

Red Bull's triple world champion Max Verstappen took the 50th win of his Formula One career, and record-equalling 15th of the season, at the U.S. Grand Prix on Sunday while Lewis Hamilton was disqualified from second after post-race checks.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, who finished sixth, was also excluded for excessive wear of the mandatory wooden plank under the car's floor.

"Others got it right where we got it wrong and there's no wiggle room in the rules. We need to take it on the chin, do the learning, and come back stronger next weekend," said Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff.

Hamilton's exclusion meant McLaren's Lando Norris moved up from third to second with Ferrari's Carlos Sainz completing the podium, even if the ceremonies were long over by then.

The victory was Verstappen's third in a row at Austin's Circuit of the Americas and equalled, with four races to spare, the record the Dutch 26-year-old set last year for most wins in a single season.

Dominant Red Bull and Verstappen, who started in sixth place and whose win was the first in Austin by a driver not on the front row, have already secured the constructors' and drivers' titles.

"The whole race, I was struggling a lot with the brakes," said Verstappen, who was booed by some of the crowd as he stood on the podium. "You could see it was very close to the end."

Norris, lining up on the front row, seized the lead from pole-sitter Leclerc into the first corner but his hopes of a first win in his 100th start had faded by the half distance.

On the plus side, his points haul allowed McLaren to leapfrog Aston Martin for fourth in the constructors' standings.

Verstappen was fifth by the end of lap one and used the DRS drag reduction to take the lead from Norris on the 28th of 56 laps.

He did not just disappear into the distance, as so often this season, instead complaining over the radio about the brakes and giving Mercedes hope that they might be able to reel him in with their upgraded car.

"We changed the brakes after yesterday and it was not good," he said, referring to the Saturday 19-lap sprint that he won from pole.

"I had no good feeling under braking and I couldn't really get on top of it for the whole race, so this is something we need to understand."

<h2>MORE LAPS</h2>

Seven times world champion Hamilton provided excitement at the end as he chased Verstappen, starting the last lap only 1.8 seconds behind after being 5.3 adrift when he passed Norris with seven laps remaining.

"We were catching them towards the end and I was hopeful but we needed some more laps," said Hamilton before the summons to stewards.

Red Bull's Sergio Perez moved up to fourth with George Russell fifth for Mercedes ahead of Alpine's Pierre Gasly and Aston Martin's Lance Stroll, who started from the pit lane.

AlphaTauri's Yuki Tsunoda moved up to eighth and also took a bonus point for fastest lap right at the finish.

Williams duo Alex Albon and rookie Logan Sargeant bagged unexpected points with ninth and 10th, the latter scoring for the first time and in his home race.

Verstappen increased his unassailable lead over Mexican Perez to 226 points and became only the fifth Formula One driver to reach 50 wins. Perez in turn moved 39 clear of closest rival Hamilton.

If Verstappen wins in Mexico next weekend he will match the tally of four times world champion Alain Prost and could overtake former Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel's 53 wins before the end of the season.

Alpine's Esteban Ocon and McLaren's Oscar Piastri collided and retired, as did Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso.

F1: Max Verstappen grabs 50th career win at US Grand Prix; Lewis Hamilton disqualified after post-race checks

Ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix where Max Verstappen might be crowned world champion for a third consecutive time, Mercedes has already conceded defeat and set sights on the 2024 season.&nbsp;Andrew Shovlin, Mercedes' trackside engineering director told Sky that the car will have considerable changes next year.&nbsp;

Despite the hype at the beginning of the season, Mercedes performed rather underwhelmingly as both Lewis Hamilton and George Russel struggled with the W14.&nbsp;Shovlin admitted that W14 did not have enough stability as both drivers remained reluctant to attack high-speed corners, throughout the season.

However, the Mercedes backroom staff is confident of next year and has already set themselves "very ambitious targets" to improve things for 2024.&nbsp;

"We are changing the car quite considerably for next year.&nbsp;Whether or not we can solve all the issues that we've got on the handling, that will depend on a number of projects delivering," said&nbsp;Shovlin.&nbsp;

"Those projects are underway. They are not complete, but we have got some good directions to try and improve that."

Reflecting on the seasons when Mercedes produced its best cars, Shovlin said&nbsp;that even then the team engineers remained oblivious to the fate of the car.&nbsp;

"When we launched our best cars, 2015 or 2019, those years, we didn't know they were going to be great cars when we developed them, you are just working as hard as you can trying to find as much performance as you can."

Despite looking forward to the 2024 car, Shovlin maintains that the eight-time constructor champions are pushing to keep Ferrari at bay whilst occupying the second position on the table,&nbsp;

Currently, Mercedes' advantage over Ferrari is 20 points but the Scuderia have more than halved their deficit to their rivals in the four races since the summer break.

Seven times Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton has signed a new contract with Mercedes and will continue to partner compatriot George Russell in 2024 and 2025, the team said on Thursday. No financial details were given, although media reports have suggested the deal could be worth 50 million pounds a year ($63.41 million) for Hamilton.

The 38-year-old Briton last won a race in 2021, with Red Bull and double world champion Max Verstappen now dominant after ending Mercedes's record run of eight successive constructors' world titles.

The announcement came as no surprise, with both sides keen to continue, although the contract negotiations dragged on longer than expected.

"We have never been hungrier to win," said Hamilton in a team statement. "We have learnt from every success but also every setback. We continue to chase our dreams, we continue to fight no matter the challenge and we will win again.

"I'm grateful to the team who have supported me both on and off the track. Our story isn't finished, we are determined to achieve more together and we won't stop until we do."

Russell joined the Mercedes lineup last season as replacement for Valtteri Bottas and took his first victory in Brazil -- the last time Red Bull were beaten.

"Continuing with our current driver lineup was a straightforward decision," said team boss and co-owner Toto Wolff. "We have the strongest pairing on the grid and both drivers are playing a crucial role in the team to move us forward. The strength and stability they provide will be key building blocks for our future success.

"Our partnership with Lewis is one of the most successful in the sport's history. It was always a formality that we would continue together, and it's energising for us all to be confirming that publicly."

The Austrian said Hamilton's leadership qualities would be crucial for Mercedes but his influence went well beyond the sporting arena.

"As F1's biggest global star he has also played a key role in shaping our commitments to diversity, inclusion and sustainability that will be foundations for our success in the years ahead," said Wolff.

The team boss praised Russell, 25, for his speed and tenacity

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff also agreed that Verstappen has all the reasons to be 'cheeky.' Wolff made the comments about Verstappen's radio message during the Belgian GP. The Red Bull driver had so much time during the race that he got involved in a playful banter with his team on the radio during the race.

During the conversation Verstappen was heard saying that he might come in for a pit-stop to give his team a bit of practice.

"He's just driving circles around everybody else on merit. There's nothing else to say about that.

"We've got to watch that, and as much as that is annoying, that's just above the lot," added Wolff.

Verstappen had started the race at sixth place on the grid despite qualifying for the pole during the practice. The driver was given a five-place grid penalty, yet he managed to win the race with ease.

As for the rest, Verstappen's Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez finished second and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc took the final place on the podium. Hamilton finished fourth while Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso finished fifth in the race. Britishers George Russell and Lando Norris took the next two places for Mercedes and McLaren, respectively.

Alpine's Esteban Econ and Pierre Gasly finished seventh and 10th with AlphaTauri's Yuki Tsunoda taking the eighth place in final standings.

Formula One: Lewis Hamilton makes CHEEKY remark about Max Verstappen's dominance after Belgian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton claimed his first pole position since 2021 after edging Max Verstappen in qualifying on Saturday for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The seven-time world champion ended a barren run stretching back 33 races by claiming a record-increasing 104th&nbsp;pole of his career and his record ninth at the Hungaroring circuit.&nbsp;

His success with a last-gasp lap was greeted with cheers by the crowd and ended defending double world champion Verstappen's run of five straight poles for Red Bull.

"I didn’t expect this, for us to be fighting for pole position here this weekend," said a hoarse and emotional Hamilton, who had described his car as being "at its worst" on Friday.&nbsp;

"But hats off to the team. They’ve done a fantastic job" added Hamilton, back on the front of the grid for the first time since the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 2021.

The Briton outpaced Verstappen by just 0.003 seconds in a thrilling conclusion to their contest.&nbsp;

Verstappen, whose Red Bull car ran with an updates package, was disappointed.&nbsp;

"We've not been on it so far this weekend,"he said, but with a 99-point lead ahead of team-mate Perez in the title race, he could afford a rare off day.

Lando Norris was third ahead of his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri, Alfa Romeo's Zhou Guanyu and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc with Valtteri Bottas taking seventh for Alfa Romeo.&nbsp;

Two-time champion Fernando Alonso was eighth for Aston Martin ahead of Red Bull's Sergio Perez, back in the top-ten shootout for the first time in six outings, and Nico Hulkenberg of Haas.

The session began in warm sunshine with an air temperature of 27 degrees Celsius with the teams busy calculating their options for tyre strategy on a circuit known for high attrition rates.&nbsp;

The introduction of F1's new Alternative Tyre Allocation had reduced supplies to drivers and ensured that the first qualifying session was run using only hard compound, Q2 only mediums and softs for the top 10 shoot-out - another puzzle for them to solve.&nbsp;

Hamilton's team-mate George Russell, pole-man last year, failed to make it out of the first qualifying session, blaming heavy traffic for his elimination.&nbsp;

His comments on team radio were muted out by broadcasters.&nbsp;

Russell, disappointed by his early exit and 18th place on Sunday's grid, blamed poor preparation and timing for his lap.

He said: "We got punished… We were fast and the car felt great, but we were out of synch for the whole session.&nbsp;

"I'm really disappointed. We didn't need to take so many risks – you get what you deserve if you don't do things right."

Out with Russell went Williams' Logan Sargeant, who was 20th, Haas's Kevin Magnussen, Yuki Tsunoda of Alpha Tauri and Williams' Alex Albon.&nbsp;

Daniel Ricciardo, back in F1 as replacement for the luckless Nyck de Vries at Alpha Tauri, showed his potential by squeezing into Q2 in 15th&nbsp;place, out-qualifying his established team-mate at the first attempt.&nbsp;

The 'mediums' second qualifying segment began with Perez quickly on top only to be overhauled by Verstappen whose lap was promptly deleted for exceeding track limits at Turn Five.&nbsp;

This gave McLaren their chance to shine and Norris and Piastri rose to first and second while Zhou Guanyu, fastest in Q1, rose to sixth, showing just how open the competition had become.&nbsp;

In a furious final flurry, Sainz, who started second for Ferrari last year, was knocked out in 12th&nbsp;along with Alpine’s Esteban Ocon, Ricciardo, Aston Martin's Lance Stroll and Pierre Galsly in the second Alpine.&nbsp;

Perez began the final session but he was quickly topped by Norris and then Alonso, who went second, before Verstappen and Hamilton took over in P1 and P2 on their first hot runs ahead of a tense finale.

Hamilton's comments came after the qualifying on Saturday on the Silverstone track which was expected to suit his Mercedes car better. "It's not a blow, it's just a wake-up call for us," he said.

"Others are overtaking us. We need to do more.

"If you look at the car it makes sense. If you put it alongside a Red Bull it looks very, very similar down the sides," he added.

"And it's working, and that's great, to have them up in the mix, which is what we want to see in this sport. I'm really happy for them, they've had a bad run for so long. To be back up there is really, really great to see," said Hamilton further.

Notably, McLaren upgraded their car at Austrian Grand Prix during the last race and the efforts have clearly paid off. Hamilton, who is struggling this season in Mercedes, also said that his home race is going to be a tough one.

“They had the edge on us last race so I anticipate tomorrow will be the same … Of course, I’ll try and be optimistic and do our best, but realistically I’m not sure how… We’ll find out. It was difficult to get past the two Ferraris and we’ve got two McLarens now there. Gonna be a tough race," said Hamilton.

The drivers affected with additional penalties, apart from Sainz and Hamilton were: Alpine's Pierre Gasly, Williams Alex Albon, Alpine's Estabon Ocon, Williams' Logan Sargeant, and AlphaTauri's Nyck de Vries and Yuki Tsuonda.&nbsp;

The stewards used the following calculations for the additional penalties:

For four infringements, a five-second time penalty; for five infringements, a 10-second time penalty.

A reset was allowed due to the excessive number of infringements after initial penalties. The counting of infringements then restarted. After another four infringements, a five-second time penalty; after five, a 10-second time penalty applied again.

After the calculation post additional penalties, Sainz dropped from P4 to P6 while Hamilton dropped to P8 from P7. Hamilton's teammate at Mercedes George Russell, however, kept P7 in-house as he got elevated.

McLaren's Lando Norris was elevated to P4 and Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso got P5 post-Sainz drop. Gasly also dropped to a place to P10 while Ocon from P12 to P14. For AlphaTauri, De Vries dropped from P15 to P17 while Tsunoda fell to P19 from P18.

Williams teammates Albon and Sargeant kept their places at P11 and P13, respectively, and Lance Stroll finished on P9.

Defending double world champion and series leader Verstappen clocked a fastest lap in one minute 12.776 seconds to outpace Perez by 0.073s before the session was halted four minutes prematurely when seven-time champion Hamilton crashed his revamped Mercedes.&nbsp;

He was unhurt and climbed from his car, apologising&nbsp;to the team having been on a fast lap.&nbsp;

Lance Stroll was third for Aston Martin ahead of Carlos Sainz of Ferrari and Lando Norris of McLaren in a closely-contested hour during which many of the drivers brushed, or hit, the barriers of the Mediterranean street circuit.&nbsp;

The session was run in perfect conditions, blue skies and warm sunshine producing an air temperature of 27 degrees, with the track at 44. The streets and stands were packed with fans.&nbsp;&nbsp;

After a lifeless minute, Alonso was first out with Stroll and the two Alpha Tauris, the rest following in a leisurely manner. Ocon briefly lost power in the tunnel, where he almost stopped, but was saved by a system re-set.&nbsp;

Perez was first to set a fast time for Red Bull in 1:15.641 as the drivers tested the conditions before Norris went top for McLaren, followed by Verstappen in 1:13.794 and then to the delight of many Spaniards in attendance, Alonso who went clear by 0.097 seconds.&nbsp;

Mercedes delayed their entry by more than 20 minutes before Russell and Hamilton joined the fray, the Briton logging his first lap after 25 minutes.&nbsp;

By the half hour mark, Red Bull were back in control, trading fastest laps, with Verstappen edging clear of Perez and Leclerc who was struggling with his Ferrari.&nbsp;

"We need to change the car," said the Monegasque. "I have no control."

He reported it was "bottoming like crazy" through the Swimming Pool complex where team-mate Sainz had crashed on Friday.&nbsp;

“It’s devastating to think that in 2023 we’re still seeing these things and hearing these things,” said Hamilton on Thursday ahead of Monaco Grand Prix.&nbsp;

“It really brings up emotions about things that I experienced, whether it’s back in the UK or whether it was when I was racing in Italy or in France or in Spain," he added. "It can be so hurtful the things that people say."

The Brazilian signed with La Liga club Real Madrid in 2018 and has, on multiple occasions, been subjected to racist chants including 'mono' which is Spanish for Monkey. The most recent case where the soccer player faced the racist abuse what during Real Madrid's &nbsp;0-1 loss to Valencia on Sunday.

The game was stopped for several minutes after the player complained about he behaious of crowd. He then shared a long post on Instagram, describing his ordeal and calling Spain a racist country.

Hamilton emphasized on need of doing more about the issue in sports as the 'society has no place for discrimination.' &nbsp;&nbsp;

“There is no room for discrimination in society today. Sports need to do more, we all need to continue to do more. If we see it, hear it – we need to do something about it," said the racer.

"I think it’s amazing what so many of these (athletes) that are experiencing that on the pitch are doing in terms of standing tall and standing strong," Hamilton added. "Continuing to be humble in their approach, not being reactive but being responsible when moving forward because they know lots of young kids are watching."

Ferrari have not made any contract offer to Lewis Hamilton, reveals team boss Fred Vasseur

Lewis Hamilton denied talking to Ferrari about a move to the Italian Formula One team and said on Thursday he was close to agreeing a new contract with Mercedes. The seven times world champion, the sport's most successful driver of all time, is out of contract at the end of the season and there has been speculation the 38-year-old could join Ferrari.

"My team is working closely behind the scenes with (team boss) Toto (Wolff), we are almost at the end of having a contract ready," the Briton told reporters ahead of the weekend's Monaco Grand Prix. "Having a team focus on that so I can just do my job, it's a much better position than I was in before because I remember I used to do all my negotiations on my own and it was very stressful. I don't have to do that any more."

Asked directly whether Ferrari had been in touch, Hamilton replied "no". Separately, Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur said the team had not made any offer. "We didn't have discussions. I think every single team on the grid would like to have Hamilton at one stage. It would be rubbish to not say something like this," added the Frenchman.

Hamilton came home second ahead of Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso, who made it three podiums from three this year.

"We had a very poor start, lap one I was careful as I had a lot to lose," said Dutchman Verstappen, who won the season-opening race in Bahrain and came second in Jeddah a fortnight ago.

"After that, the pace of the car was quick. With these red flags, I don't know, I don't really understand. It was a bit of a mess but we had good pace and we won, so that's important.

It was a disastrous day for Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, last year's winner, who spun out on the first lap, while Russell's car caught fire on lap 19 and his race too was over.

Victory was Verstappen's maiden win in Melbourne and Red Bull's first in Australia since Sebastian Vettel's 2011 triumph.

His teammate and winner in Saudi Arabia Sergio Perez&nbsp;sliced through the field to come fifth after qualifying last due to brake issues, behind Lance Stroll in the other Aston Martin.&nbsp;

<h2>Late drama</h2>

The Red Bull triumph came despite unbelievable late drama that saw a red flag come out when Verstappen had a comfortable lead from Hamilton and Alonso with two laps left, meaning they had a bunched restart for an all-out attack to the finish.

But it descended into chaos when Alonso was clipped by Ferrari's Carlos Sainz as they jostled for position and sent into a spin, which caused a flow on effect with multiple other cars coming to grief.

Sainz was given a five-second penalty, eventually finishing 12th, and the race stopped again.

It resumed after a lengthy delay for single lap behind a safety car -- with no overtaking allowed &nbsp;-- in the order of the previous start with only 12 cars left.

"I didn't expect to be second so I'm super grateful for it," said seven-time world champion Hamilton.

"I'm driving as best I can and working as hard as I can but still, considering we've been down on performance and in straight pace, for us to be up there fighting with Aston is amazing."

On a fine day, Lando Norris in a McLaren was sixth, Niko Hulkenberg in the Haas seventh and rookie Oscar Piastri, in the other McLaren, an encouraging eighth on his home circuit.

<h2>'Rollercoaster of emotions'</h2>

Alpha Romeo's Zhou Guanyu came ninth and AlphaTauri's Yuki Tsunoda 10th.

"We had a rollercoaster of emotions today, many things going on at the beginning, and the last half an hour," said Spanish veteran Alonso.

"Mercedes were very fast and Lewis did an incredible job -- I could not match the pace, but we'll take P3."

With Red Bull's undeniable speed advantage, it was crucial for Russell and Hamilton to get a strong start.

And they did just that with both scorching past a tentative Verstappen on the first corner before Leclerc spun at Turn 3 and the safety car came out.

They resumed with Hamilton pressing Russell before the safety car was deployed again on lap seven when Williams' Alexander Albon lost control, leaving gravel on the track, with a red flag eventually needed.

They got underway again from a standing start with Hamilton initially keeping Verstappen at bay.

But it only a matter of time before the Dutchman made his move and he surged into the lead on lap 12.

Once more a safety car was needed when Russell's car broke down, but Verstappen was in charge now and pulling clear.

By the halfway mark, he was seven seconds ahead with the battle seemingly all about who came second between Hamilton and Alonso.

But there was more drama when Kevin Magnussen lost the rear tyre of his Haas and the red flag came out again at the death.

In his decision, Judge Pedro Matos de Arrudo said the amount of compensation was given "in the sense that one should not only appreciate the reparative function of civil liability but also (and perhaps mainly) the punitive function so that, as a society, we can someday be free from the pernicious acts that are racism and homophobia".

Seven times world champion Lewis Hamilton has said his Mercedes team did not listen to him in developing their 2023&nbsp;Formula&nbsp;One&nbsp;car. The Briton told reporters last week that Mercedes were on the wrong track before he finished fifth in Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix opener. "Last year, there were things I told them. I said the issues that are with the car," Hamilton told BBC Radio 5 Live's Chequered Flag podcast.

"I've driven so many cars in my life so I know what a car needs. I know what a car doesn't need. I think it's really about accountability. "It's about owning up and saying, 'Yeah, you know what? We didn't listen to you. It's not where it needs to be and we've got to work'," he said. "We've got to look into the balance through the corners, look at all the weak points, and just huddle up as a team. That's what we do."

Hamilton is&nbsp;Formula&nbsp;One's most successful driver of all time, with a record 103 wins, but is out of contract at the end of the season. The 38-year-old failed to win a race last year, a career first for a season, but has dismissed suggestions he might be holding off on a new deal until he knew how competitive his car was.

He told the BBC that there was still time for Mercedes, whose run of eight successive constructors' titles ended last year, to turn the situation around. "We're still multi world champions, you know? It's just we haven't got it right this time. We didn't get it right last year. But that doesn't mean we can't get it right moving forwards," he said.

"I don't think this package is going to be competitive eventually," said the Austrian of a car that stands out for its slimmed-down sidepods in marked contrast to Red Bull's solution. The report by The Guardian said that these declarations were made on the United Kingdom (UK) government's new register of overseas entities.&nbsp;

The register gives details on how Gulf royals, wealthy businesspersons and countries such as China legally bought billions of pounds of most London property, often via jurisdictions like the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and the Channel Islands, the report said.&nbsp;

As of Friday noon, the Companies House register listed more than 17,000 overseas entities and thousands more are expected to be registered before the deadline which is on January 31.&nbsp;

Richard Sharp, whose appointment as the BBC chair is being questioned following questions about his role in securing a loan for former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, is the beneficial owner of a £4 million flat in London held through a Jersey-based trust, the report said. However, a spokesperson for Sharp said that the flat in question was his elderly mother's home.&nbsp;“Mr Sharp is a UK citizen, UK domiciled and has always been meticulous about always paying the full amount of tax here," the spokesperson said.&nbsp;

“Like many parents, he has been thinking about how to provide for his children on his death. This arrangement isn’t about a personal tax benefit to him as he pays more UK tax under this arrangement, but about him planning for provision for his children,” the spokesperson added, the Guardian reported.&nbsp;

Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton owns a property worth £16.5 million in Kensington. A spokesperson for Hamilton said that the British racing driver did not gain tax benefits from this arrangement.&nbsp;

The Companies House register showed that royal families of Gulf states owned about £1 billion of British property via tax havens such as the BVI. The register also showed that the Chinese Investment Corporation, an arm of the Chinese government, owned at least &nbsp;£580 million worth of property through offshore entities, including distribution centres that are important for the flow of British goods.&nbsp;

On the other hand, Conservative donors named in the register include two peers Irvine Laidlaw and Stanley Fink. The Guardian report on Friday said that Laidlaw had donated £3.2 million when the Conservative Party was in opposition. He has a portfolio of offices and residential homes held through at least nine Isle of Man-based companies.&nbsp;

Stanley Fink, the former party treasurer, had given about £3.7 million over two decades. He owns a part of the St Pancras Renaissance hotel building through a Guernsey-based vehicle, the report added. Fink said gained no tax benefits from this structure.

Some other Tory donors include the Reuben brothers, property developers with 106 vehicles spanning the BVI to Guernsey, the report added. A spokesperson for the brother said that all the entities were liable to UK taxes, adding any taxes due were paid in compliance with the HMRC (HM Revenue and Customs). &nbsp;

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) on Tuesday released the updated version of the International Sporting Code which stated that "the general making and display of political, religious and personal statements or comments" will be considered a violation under "the general principle of neutrality promoted by the&nbsp;FIA&nbsp;under its statutes."

Henceforth, drivers will now be penalised if found to be in breach of the rules unless the FIA has granted previous approval in writing.

The decision comes in the wake of what is perceived as a rise in activism in the sport in recent years, with Mercedes superstar Lewis Hamilton leading the charge.

The Mercedes superstar has worn "Black Lives Matter" and "Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor" on his shirts in the past.

In 2021, several drivers joined Hamilton to take a knee before each race in a symbolic gesture against racism.

Recently, retired star Sebastian Vettel had also expressed solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community with his wardrobe.

In a recent interview to racing news outlet GrandPrix247 during this year's Monaco GP, FIA president Ben Sulayem had described motorsport as "too political".

An FIA spokesman said the update was "in alignment with the political neutrality of sport" as enshrined in the International Olympic Committee code of ethics, reports the Guardian.

According to the FIA's new rule, players have been forbidden from displaying “political, religious and personal statements or comments notably in violation of the general principle of neutrality promoted by the FIA."

With both titles won by Max Verstappen and Red Bull, Mercedes are fighting Ferrari for second place. The Italians are 40 points ahead with 96 available from Brazil and the final round in Abu Dhabi. Plenty is at stake from the last two races, with the division of revenues decided by the positions in the constructors' standings.

Renault-owned Alpine and McLaren are separated by only seven points in the battle for fourth while Aston Martin are four behind sixth-placed Alfa Romeo. Haas, in eighth, are a point clear of Red Bull-owned AlphaTauri.

"Thanks to the Sprint format we have two attempts in which to score points and extend our lead to McLaren heading into the final Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi," said Alpine's double world champion Fernando Alonso. At the top, Verstappen will be seeking to extend his record tally of wins in a season to 15 while Red Bull are eyeing a 10th win in a row. If they succeed, the final Sunday at Yas Marina could see Red Bull equal McLaren's 1988 record of 11 successive wins in a single season and send them into 2023 chasing Ferrari's all-time best of 14 in 1952-53.

"It's a track that both of our drivers have typically gone well at and it's a sprint race where we can pick up more points," said Mercedes' strategy chief James Vowles. If they succeed, the final Sunday at Yas Marina could see Red Bull equal McLaren's 1988 record of 11 successive wins in a single season and send them into 2023 chasing Ferrari's all-time best of 14 in 1952-53. "While the focus has, for sure, already shifted to next year with the car, we also focus on the car we have at the moment," said Verstappen, who won the season's two previous sprints, after Mexico. "We try to win the next two races, that's for sure."
