A female-only application “Giggle for Girls” was sued by an Australian transgender woman who alleged that it discriminated against her by not allowing her to use the platform.&nbsp;Roxanne Tickle filed a lawsuit on December 22 in a federal court in which she claimed that she was barred unlawfully from using the application in September 2021 after the firm's CEO Sally “Sall” Grover along with the firm claimed that she was a man.

In her plea, the activist has sought the platform's complete access, written apology and damages. She stated that her access was revoked even after the artificial intelligence had approved her selfie in February 2021, hence providing her full access to the platform.&nbsp;

In the documents submitted in the court, the woman said that she tried to contact Grover or Giggle but in vain.&nbsp;

“I believe that I am being discriminated against by being provided with extremely limited functionality of a smartphone app by the app provider compared to that of other users because I am a transgender woman,” Tickle stated in the complaint registered in the Australian Human Rights Commission in December 2021.

“The app provider appears not to recognise transgender women as female. I am legally permitted to identify as female,” she added.&nbsp;

On March 3, 2022, responding to the complaint, lawyers of Giggle at the Feminist Legal Clinic said that the transgender woman was “considered male” on the basis of her appearance in the selfie and hence, the firm had revoked her access.

“(Tickle’s) gender identity was not known to (Grover) or other Giggle personnel at the time of removal and did not inform the decision to preclude (Tickle) from the app,” stated the lawyers.

Grover, in a&nbsp;tweet posted on March 22, called Tickle a “trans identified male”.

Meta, the parent company of social media platform Facebook, is facing a lawsuit in the UK that accused the tech giant of collecting the personal data of users in order to create targeted advertisements. Human rights campaigner Tanya O’Carroll has alleged in the suit that Meta has violated UK data laws by not agreeing to her prior request regarding the use of her data. According to The Guardian, she requested the company to stop collecting her data when she uses the application.&nbsp;

“This case is really about us all being able to connect with social media on our own terms, and without having to essentially accept that we should be subjected to hugely invasive tracking surveillance profiling just to be able to access social media,” O’Carroll told BBC in a radio interview.&nbsp;

A California-based weed company is being sued over claims that its pre-rolled joints were not as strong enough as claimed.

Two disgruntled customers filed a class-action suit against DreamFields Brands, Inc, on October 20 for claiming that their Jeeter branded pre-rolls had low THC or tetrahydrocannabinol content—an active compound in cannabis that gives people high.

In the lawsuit, it is claimed that their pre-roll joints had only 35 per cent THC content, compared to the average 42.10 per cent THC content found in other products.

They have taken exception to their marketing slogan which says “This is the one Joint that will get you to Mars quicker than Elon Musk.”

The two plaintiffs—Jasper Centeno of Long Beach and Blake Wilson of Fresno—have accused the company of unfair competition, false advertising, and negligent representation, reports CNN.

"Because cannabis consumers generally prefer and are willing to pay more for high-THC cannabis products, declaring that their products have a very high THC content allows Defendants to charge premium rates for their cannabis products," the lawsuit claims.

They have claimed that the pot company is "systematically overstating the THC content to deceive consumers into thinking that the effects of their prerolls are more potent than they truly are."

According to the California Department of Cannabis Control regulations, companies are required to label their products with THC content expressed as either a percentage or in milligrams.

And the THC content on the label must be within 10 per cent of the actual THC content.

The lawsuit alleges that an independent test revealed that DreamFields joints actually had a lower THC content than claimed.

“Meaning customers were overpaying for a weaker product,” the lawsuit alleges.

The company, however, has denied the “baseless and ridiculous” allegations.

In a statement to CNN,&nbsp;Jeeter,&nbsp;the subsidiary of DreamFields that produced the joints said, “We take pride in our compliance and commitment to state-mandated testing procedures, including independent, third-party testing. The product and our integrity (are) something we truly value as a company, and take all the proper and legal steps before our product hits the shelves.”

There were also discussions about the US government defending Trump as the lawsuit was filed during his tenure as President, but all such reports were completely dismissed by the authorities.

Austria has received support from EU member&nbsp;Luxembourg&nbsp;which has stated that it will stand with the country in its legal case.&nbsp;

Notably, the EU in May earlier this year passed a controversial proposal under which both natural gas and nuclear energy have been put in the category of sustainable investments.&nbsp;

The action filed by John Lynch and Daxton Hartsfield, who were fired on June 10 and June 15 respectively, seeks pay and benefits for the 60-day notification period.

Tesla ex-employees sue company over 'mass lay-off'

Apple is facing another multi-million-pound lawsuit to reimburse millions of iPhone users for deliberately slowing down the performance of older iPhones in 2017 to force customers into buying newer models of iPhones, reported The Guardian.

In January 2017, a software update that was released by an unknown battery management system slowed down older versions of iPhones to stop them from shutting down without warning. However, Apple didn't give a provision to users to disable that setting and also did not inform users about their intentional throttling of the phones.

Consumer rights campaigner Justin Gutmann filed a lawsuit at the Competition Appeals Tribunal accusing Apple of abusing its market presence to engage in manipulative and unfair commercial practices to exploit consumers.

Gutmann has appealed on behalf of 25 million UK iPhone users&nbsp;who have used one of the ten different models of iPhone. The lawsuit relates to the use of iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, SE, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X models.

Gutmann told The Guardian, "I'm launching this case so that millions of iPhone users across the UK will receive redress for the harm suffered by Apple's actions."

According to Gutmann, Apple deliberately did not inform consumers that their older iPhone batteries could not cope with the new demands, and the company released a new software update knowingly that it would make the phones worse, which would push consumers to buy newer versions.

The New York Times reported that under the terms of the agreement, players will receive $24 million and a pledge from U.S. Soccer to equalize pay for the men's and women's national teams, in all competitions including the World Cup, in the next collective bargaining agreements.
