Josh Allen produced a monster performance as the Buffalo Bills trampled over the Jacksonville Jaguars 47-10 to maintain their perfect start to the NFL season on Monday.

Bills quarterback Allen was in superb form as Buffalo buried the Jags in an avalanche of first-half scoring that saw them power into a 34-3 lead at the break.

Allen threw four touchdowns and finished with 263 passing yards while Buffalo's defense gave Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence a torrid time at the Bills' Highmark Stadium.

After Jacksonville punted their first possession, Buffalo were back in the end zone on their next drive when Dalton Kincaid collected Allen's short pass to make it 13-0 after Tyler Bass's extra point.

Cam Little got Jacksonville on the board with a 41-yard field goal early in the second quarter, but Allen then took over with touchdown passes to Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir and Ty Johnson to leave Buffalo up by 31 points at the end of the second quarter.

The biggest roar of a one-sided first-half came when safety Damar Hamlin -- who almost died on the field after suffering a cardiac arrest in a game against Cincinnati last year -- snagged the first interception of his career to set up the drive which led to Shakir's touchdown.

An Indian-American ex-employee of American football team Jacksonville Jaguars has been accused of stealing more than $22 million from the team's bank accounts to fund his luxurious lifestyle.&nbsp;The accused, Amit Patel, worked as the team's financial planning and analysis manager from 2018 to 2023.

According to&nbsp;court documents filed in the US District Court in Jacksonville, Florida, Patel exploited the organisation's virtual credit card (VCC) programme and used the money to buy a Tesla Model 3 sedan, a Nissan pickup truck, a $95,000 watch&nbsp;and pay for his chartered flights.&nbsp;

Prior to Patel's termination from the job, he oversaw the company's monthly financial statements and department budgets.&nbsp;The VCC programme allowed certain authorised employees such as Patel to&nbsp;“request VCC's for business-related purchases or expenses".&nbsp;

Apart from funding his lifestyle, Patel has been alleged to have used the money to place bets with online gambling websites, buy cryptocurrency, and NFTs, as well as purchase a condominium&nbsp;in&nbsp;Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.&nbsp;

He has been charged with one count of wire fraud and one count of illegal monetary transactions.&nbsp;

Former NFL player Chris Smith, aged 31, has died, said his agent Drew Rosenhaus. The cause of former NFL defensive lineman's death hasn't been announced, as per the Salisbury post.

"Rest in Peace Chris," read Rosenhaus's on Smith. "Condolences to all his family, friends and loved ones. We will miss you," the statement further read.

Smith's High School football team, West Rowan at Mount Ulla, North Carolina, also posted a heartfelt tweet for the deceased player.

Reacting to his death, XFL also issued a statement, reading, "Chris was a powerful presence in the locker room. Loved and admired by his teammates and the coaching staff. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family at this difficult time."

Smith's Alma Mater was Arkansas where he was named in the second-team All-SEC during the 2013 season. At Arkansas, Smith played as a defensive playmaker and team captain. Smith's college career highlights also include being named the Defensive MVP of 2009 Shrine Bowl.

Apart from spending three seasons with the Jaguars, Smith played one season with the Cincinnati Bengals, two with the Cleveland Browns, one with the Las Vegas Raiders and one with the Houston Texans in 2021 - his last team in the NFL. He played five games for the Dragons in the ongoing season. Reacting to his death, XFL also issued a statement, reading, "Chris was a powerful presence in the locker room. Loved and admired by his teammates and the coaching staff. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family at this difficult time." Smith's Alma Mater was Arkansas where he was named in the second-team All-SEC during the 2013 season. At Arkansas, Smith played as a defensive playmaker and team captain. US Navy's aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford completed full ship shock trials off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida as it withstood the impact of three 40,000-pound underwater blasts meant to gauge&nbsp;its readiness under combat conditions.

The first two trials had taken place in June and July as the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/us-navy-ditches-futuristic-railgun-eyes-hypersonic-missiles-395429">US Navy</a> officials tested the ship's ability to withstand shocks.

The US Navy had conducted similar exercises on USS Jackson and USS Milwaukee in 2016 also on the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp in 1990 and the guided-missile cruiser USS Mobile Bay in 1987.

USS Gerald R. Ford is the most advanced aircraft carrier in the US Navy. Ahead of the tests, the Navy had cleared the test area to ensure safety.

“The Navy designed the Ford-class carrier using advanced computer modelling methods, testing, and analysis to ensure the ships are hardened to withstand harsh battle conditions,” Captain&nbsp;Brian Metcalf said.

USS Ford will be returning to the Tidewater area for a six-month Planned Incremental Availability (PIA). &nbsp;

As the PIA begins, teams will conduct additional detailed inspections, assess any damage sustained during the shots, the Navy said in a statement.

The tests are complex evolutions conducted during a precise operating schedule in compliance with environmental mitigation requirements.

“Success required equal measures of technical expertise, trust, and courage - traits you’ll find in great supply on the warship and throughout the entire Ford shock trial team," Captain Paul Lanzilotta, the ship's commanding officer said.

According to the US Navy, the USS Gerald R. Ford represents the first major design investment in aircraft carriers since the 1960s and has the ability to operate in complex maritime environment with the help of new technologies and a modern air wing.

The sale of Wembley would be a boost to England's goal of winning a World Cup, the stadium's potential new owner Shahid Khan has said, adding that the iconic venue would remain the home of English football under the proposed deal.

The US&nbsp;billionaire, who owns the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, has made an offer to buy Wembley from the English Football Association (FA) in a deal reported to be worth up to 1 billion pounds ($1.38 billion).

Under the plan, the FA would keep Wembley as the main venue to host national games and cup matches and Khan said the name of the stadium would not change.

"Wembley is the essence, the cradle of English football," Khan told the BBC. "We would very much like for England matches and cup finals to be played at Wembley, that is the DNA.

"(The FA) will have a pool of money of about 600 million pounds that can be invested into the core mission of the FA, which is English football and their ultimate goal of winning a World Cup."

The 90,000-seater stadium was reopened in 2007 after being rebuilt at a cost of 757 million pounds on the site of the original ground where England won the World Cup in 1966.

Khan, who also owns Championship side Fulham, said: "Wembley is a great stadium and you want to get it configured to hold Super Bowl and World Cup finals."

He added that he would look into the possibility of installing a roof and that Chelsea would be "welcome" to use the stadium as their temporary home when they leave Stamford Bridge during its redevelopment, which is expected to begin in 2020.

"Personally, I have not spoken to Chelsea, but the CEO of Fulham has spoken to his counterpart at Chelsea," he said.

"It was never an issue to us. Chelsea has been a great club and those relationships go back a long time."
