An Iranian ballistic missile struck the southern Israeli city of Dimona on Saturday, leading to a 12-year-old boy getting seriously injured and over 60 others being wounded. Israel’s Fire and Rescue Services confirmed that emergency crews fanned out across at least 12 separate sites in the city to search for casualties after a cluster munition missile also struck Dimona, a city about 13 km (eight miles) from the Negev Nuclear Research Centre. Israeli Channel 12 News reported that a cluster munition missile and a separate ballistic missile struck the area. A building collapsed, but it remained unclear whether it was due to a direct hit or from fragments of intercepted projectiles. The missile, which carried a large warhead, caused damage to homes and other buildings in the area, according to rescue services. Pakistan’s former high commissioner to India, Abdul Basit, has raised fresh concerns about regional security even as there is no let-up in tensions amid the ongoing Iran War by stating that Pakistan could strike India if it faces an existential threat from the US. Basit, who served as Islamabad’s top diplomat in New Delhi from 2014 to 2017, made the controversial statement while discussing a hypothetical worst-case scenario.“Let’s say the situation in Iran worsens and Israel positions itself closer to us. Suppose a scenario develops where the United States also views our nuclear programme negatively or attempts to destroy our nuclear capability,” Basit said.“I am talking about a worst-case scenario, something that is among the impossibilities, because Pakistan has the capability to defend itself,” he said, while emphasising that such a scenario was highly unlikely. Also Read: UK condemns Iran’s ‘reckless attack’ on Diego Garcia, terms it ‘threat to British interests and allies’

India’s airlines are urging the government to ease fare caps as the Iran war pushes aviation fuel prices higher. With fuel making up nearly 30–40% of operating costs and airspace restrictions forcing longer routes, carriers say margins are under serious strain. The industry is now looking for flexibility to manage rising expenses without disrupting services.

Natanz enrichment complex was targeted this morning,” the organisation said in a statement carried by the Tasnim news agency. It added that there was “no leakage of radioactive materials reported” in the area in central Iran. According to Associated Press, Natanz, Iran’s main enrichment site, was also struck in the first week of the war. Satellite images revealed damage to several buildings of the facility following the attack. In a statement, the United Nations’ International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed the damage from earlier strikes, saying that “no radiological consequence” was expected. IAEA calls for ‘military restraint’ Following the attack on the nuclear facility, the IAEA said that it was looking into a report by Iran that the Natanz nuclear site was attacked during the war. It also called for military restraint to avoid any risk of a nuclear accident. “The IAEA has been informed by Iran that the Natanz nuclear site was attacked today. No increase in off-site radiation levels reported. IAEA is looking into the report,” the watchdog said in a statement on X. “IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi reiterates call for military restraint to avoid any risk of a nuclear accident.” Iran war enters 22nd day This comes as the conflict in West Asia has entered its 22nd day on March 21. Hostilities began on February 28 when the US and Israeli military launched strikes on Iran, killing Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and several other top Iranian officials. The operation was named ‘Epic Fury’ by the US and ‘Lion’s Roar’ by Israel. The attacks came amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran and ongoing talks over Iran’s nuclear program. In retaliation, Iran launched attacks on Israel and US military bases in the region, including in Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE, Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Azerbaijan. Iran has ruled out any possibility of a ceasefire, while US President Donald Trump has claimed victory multiple times, suggesting that the objective is nearly met. Meanwhile, Israel has expanded its operations in Lebanon, targeting Iran’s ally Hezbollah and has ruled out diplomacy with the Lebanese government.
