Parallelly, the unemployed youth will be provided with ample opportunities by increasing the recruitment age limit by three more years... The unemployment youth will also be given Rs 3016 allowance," it said.

"While continuing the construction of double bedroom houses as per the existing norms, those poor people who own a plot and are desirous of constructing a house on their own will be provided financial assistance, ranging from Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 6 lakhs," the manifesto said.

The investment support of Rs 8,000 per acre for agriculture to farmers under Rythu Bandhu would be increased to Rs 10,000 per acre and up to R,s one lakh farm loan would be waived.

"In 2014 KT Rama Rao and his spouses disclosed their total assets at Rs 7,98,79,449 but in 2018 they disclosed their total assets at Rs 41,82,94,428, which means a 424 per cent increase in his assets in the last four years," said Madhu Yashki Goud, secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC), while speaking to ANI.

Goud said that in 2016 Rao went on a tour to Singapore and Malaysia to meet investors and bring a huge amount of investment to Telangana to create more jobs. "However, he was not only accompanied by a higher official, but also a controversial businessman Teja Raju who is the son of Satyam Computers founder Rama Linga Raju, who has tainted a past," said Goud.

Goud alleged that KT Rao personally took Teja Raju and toured with him across Singapore and Malaysia and the money which was made in Telangana was parked in two countries and was re-routed back to Teja Raju's company.

The Legislative Assembly elections in Telangana are due on December 7. The counting of votes will take place on December 11. (ANI)&nbsp;

He also attacked the state government for charging high VAT on petroleum products and said that Congress will reduce the same, "The state government under Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) is charging the highest VAT charges on petroleum. The VAT charges in Karnataka, where &nbsp;Congress is in power are very less compared to Telangana. The burden should be reduced on common man but it has been increased by the TRS government."

"Over 4,500 farmers have committed suicide in the state and farmers are not getting Minimum Support Price for their crops. The poor haven't got two BHK houses and there is no development of the rural and urban areas," he alleged.

There was a need to undertake developmental works, Singh said.

"I can only say to Chief Minister (Rao), who just kept on making promises... Four years have passed since he made the promises and the state has been left backwards."

Singh said the election was an opportunity to 'teach a lesson to TRS' and take the message across to him that elections cannot be won on false promises, he said.

He appealed to the people to support BJP and elect the party in Telangana.

Raman Singh claimed that the BJP would again emerge victorious in Chhattisgarh for the fourth consecutive term, where Assembly elections were held recently.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday <a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/congress-tdp-alliance-is-unholy-rajnath-singh-in-telangana-180599">released its manifesto for poll-bound Telangana</a>, promising farm loan waiver up to Rs two lakh, free laptops to degree students, regulation of liquor sale and free distribution of cows to one lakh people every year.

Alongside free laptops to degree students, the manifesto said girl students from the seventh standard to 10th standard will get free cycles. Girl students of degree and above courses will get 'scooties' (two-wheelers) with 50 per cent subsidy.

It also promised free houses to all eligible poor by 2022. Financial assistance of Rs 5,000 per month would be paid towards rent till the construction of such houses, it said.

Telangana will go to polls on December 7, votes will be counted on December 11.&nbsp;

Alongside free laptops to degree students, the manifesto said girl students from the seventh standard to 10th standard will get free cycles. Girl students of degree and above courses will get 'scooties' (two-wheelers) with 50 per cent subsidy. It also promised free houses to all eligible poor by 2022. Financial assistance of Rs 5,000 per month would be paid towards rent till the construction of such houses, it said. Telangana will go to polls on December 7, votes will be counted on December 11.

"I am 100 per cent sure that BJP will come to power for the fourth time and will have an absolute majority. We have set a target of 200 seats this time and lakhs of volunteers are working to achieve this goal," he told news agency ANI.&nbsp;

The state went to polls on November 28, the results will be announced on December 11. As many as 2,899 candidates were in the fray.&nbsp;

Telangana grand alliance partners, namely the Congress, Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Communist Party of India (CPI) and Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) has accused caretaker chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao for colluding with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in order to get rid of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) case against him in the ESI housing scam.

The grand alliance alleged that there is a nexus between Rao's Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the BJP, as when the Nationalist Democratic Alliance (NDA) came to power, Rao's name went missing from the CBI charge sheet in the alleged scam.

TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy said UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, who visited Telangana after four years, expressed displeasure to see a lack of development in the state in a dignified manner.

He went to ask Rao why he did not pressurise Prime Minister Narendra Modi in getting things done to the state of Telangana like Tribal University.

"When Rao, commonly known as KCR was a Labour Minister in the Centre, a big scam took place in the then united Andhra Pradesh. A contract for ESIC constructions was given to V Surya Narayana, who was already an accused of corruption charges. National Building Construction Company was given the contract first, later it was changed to Narayana, with the pressure of the then Labour Ministry," Reddy explained.

"The CBI charge sheet is very clear. That case is still pending. However, the name of KCR was deleted from the charge sheet surprisingly. KCR had gone to Delhi many times in the name of medical tests. In fact, his Delhi visits were not for any medical treatment, but to get rid of his name from that scam. KCR was directly involved in that case; there are documentary statements in that regard," he noted.

He further said that this exposes a direct nexus between Prime Minister Modi and KCR, and asked the BJP and TRS to justify why the Prime Minister had to safeguard KCR.

Meanwhile, TDP Telangana President L Ramana said, "KCR has been speaking nonsense about Sonia Gandhi and Chandrababu Naidu. We had spoken of KCR's misdeeds when he was union labour minister, however, they were not heard as the Telangana agitation was at its peak. The TRS and KCR have looted public money through commissions, and are now spending that money in elections. People are saying that the TRS has already spent Rs 1,000 crores and another Rs 1,000 crores will be spent. Where did all this money come from?"

Continuing their tirade against KCR, the alliance said that in Sahara case, nearly Rs 7000 crores were swindled, a portion of which, they claimed, went to KCR.

"The Congress, TDP, TJS and the CPI are fighting against the misrule of TRS. In order to expose the matters of those cases, we called on this press meet," Ramana said.

During the meeting Thursday, the man asked Rao about the status of the proposed quota which was passed by the State Assembly and sent to the Centre for approval.

"What are you talking? Sit silent. What about 12 per cent? Why are you in hurry? Tere baap ko bolunga na (I will tell your father). Are you doing tamasha," Rao asked.

In his election speeches, Rao had accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of not clearing the proposed reservation for Muslims.

Later, during the course of his speech, Rao dubbed the man a 'sanyasi' and said there was a need to increase reservation for tribals and Muslim minorities.

Reacting to KCRs comments, Congress' Telangana unit tweeted "Drunk with power, KCR acts like a dictator. Mr KCR, you are answerable to the people of Telangana. Arrogance and dictatorship have no space in a democracy!"

The BJP has attacked the TRS on the quota issue while campaigning.&nbsp;

Hitting out at the Telangana Rashtra Samithi during an election rally at Mahabubnagar recently, the prime minister had said, "TRS's talk of (raising) Muslim reservations is vote bank politics which the Congress has been doing for a long time."

Former India cricketer and senior Congress leader Mohammed Azharuddin said KCR should tender an apology and also answer the question about the 12 per cent reservation he promised for Muslims.

"He should tender an apology. He should not have said that," Azharuddin said, reacting to Rao's remarks.

"Why should he make such promises when he knows very well that it cannot be fulfilled," Azharuddin, who is the Congress' Telangana unit working president, said.&nbsp;

In a jolt to the ruling Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh, its MLA Ravela Kishore Babu resigned from the party and assembly membership Friday.

He is likely to join the Jana Sena Party of actor Pawan Kalyan, according to sources close to the legislator.

A first time MLA, Ravela served as social welfare minister in the Chandrababu Naidu Cabinet from June 8, 2014 to April 1, 2017.

He was sacked for non-performance and his controversial behaviour.

He was elected from the Prathipadu Assembly constituency in Guntur district but reportedly never maintained cordial relations with the local party leaders.

He has been staying away from party affairs for some time now.

Babu sent his resignation letter to the Assembly Speakers office Friday evening, party sources said.

He also sent a note, addressed to Chandrababu Naidu, to the TDP state office at Guntur, saying he was resigning from the primary membership of the TDP with effect from November 30.

He, however, did not give any reason.

Reacting to the development, state Civil Supplies minister P Pulla Rao, who represents Guntur district, said it was a hasty decision by Babu.

"I tried speaking to him since yesterday but he was not available," Rao added.&nbsp;

On the day he dissolved the assembly, KCR, as he is fondly called, declared 105 candidates in the same breath, taking the Opposition leaders by surprise.&nbsp;

From the time KCR dissolved the assembly to now, it appears that the wheel of fortune has turned. KCR's display of chest-thumping triumphalism of winning 100-plus seats in a 119-member House has been replaced by rousing Telangana pride and invoking celestial blessings.

Two months ago political observers were declaring KCR’s return to power a foregone conclusion, but now with coming together of Opposition parties — Congress, Telugu Desam Party, Telangana Jana Samithi and the Communist Party of India — to form Mahakutumi (grand alliance), looks like this election is after all not a cakewalk for the ruling TRS.&nbsp;

KCR expected the Election Commission to hold the polls in a month after he dissolved the assembly but the three-month time between the dissolution of the assembly and the polls, have helped the Opposition to gets its act together and put up a united face against the ruling party. &nbsp;

TRS supremo could not offer a reasonable explanation why he dissolved the assembly. KCR sounded the poll bugle on a strong wicket but his confidence has waned and his nervousness has come to the fore of late.&nbsp;

In his first phase of campaigning, KCR tried to ambush the Mahakutami headed by the Congress party by showing the TDP in a bad light by saying things like TDP was the main obstacle in Telangana State formation and is a bad omen to the Telangana people and tried to instil Telangana sentiment among the people.&nbsp;

KCR's attempt gaslight the public by portraying TDP as bad omen did not work.&nbsp;

While KCR’s braggadocio of winning 100 or more in the Assembly’s 119 seats continues, but his impressive oratory in Telugu and Urdu fails to hide the nervous gloom.

A few days back, the remarks made by the TRS chief and his son KT Rama Rao did nothing to repair the damage and created some sort of confusion among the party cadres. KCR said, “If TRS loses the battle, there will be no loss to me. I will do nothing but take rest at my farmhouse only.”&nbsp;

“I will leave the country if we lose these polls,'' said his son KTR, who is a minister in the KCR cabinet. &nbsp;

At the recently held Medchal public rally attended by allies of Mahakutami, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi Sonia lambasted the TRS government.&nbsp;

Sonia, who was hailed as “Mother of Telangana”, said, "TRS government, after coming to the power, squarely failed to meet the primary demands of statehood movement such as irrigation water, funds and recruitments." Sonia cornered KCR calling his government ''family affair'' while the Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala went a step ahead calling the ruling party 'TRS-KCR private limited.'&nbsp;

The visit by Sonia Gandhi to the state has definitely breathed new life into the four-party grand alliance. Now, will that translate into votes? We will have the answer on December 11 when the counting will take place. &nbsp;

From all accounts, Ashok Gehlot is the frontrunner in the chief ministerial race in case the Congress wins in Rajasthan. The other aspirant, Sachin Pilot, may have party president Rahul Gandhi’s approval, but Gehlot is considered better placed, more so after the list of candidates the Congress has declared comprises a large number of his nominees — and the winners among them are certain to put their weight behind him when the time comes. Quite possibly, it’s not a situation that Joshi relishes, and he could be quite willing to torpedo the Congress’s chances in order to deny Gehlot the chief ministership. His comments were designed to anger the vast majority of voters who belong to the Other Backward Classes, the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, as well as even upper castes such as the Rajputs.&nbsp;&nbsp;

One need not go too far back to understand the political rivalry between Gehlot and Joshi. The two leaders were at loggerheads during the 2013 Assembly election. Joshi was then a serious contender for the state’s chief ministership in case the Congress gained power. He was also considered close to Rahul Gandhi who had begun to tentatively explore the possibility of bringing in new (if not young) faces to the forefront. Gehlot, on the other hand, was more senior — indeed, he had once mentored Joshi — and seen to be in the Sonia Gandhi camp. The tussle between the two State leaders was, therefore, natural.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Joshi had become a Cabinet Minister in UPA-II, an elevation that was interpreted in political circles as a stamp of approval from Rahul Gandhi. The import was not lost on anyone: A first-time Member of Parliament had become a Cabinet Minister in the Union Government even as other more senior aspirants had to cool their heels. When Rahul Gandhi assumed greater responsibilities in the party, in fact becoming the de facto chief, Joshi quit the government and assumed organisational responsibilities — as a general secretary and a member of the All India Congress Committee. &nbsp;Despite this endorsement from the highest levels, he must have been dismayed by the fact that he had little role to play in the distribution of tickets in Rajasthan. That was to change soon.&nbsp;

Rahul Gandhi summoned Gehlot and Joshi for a meeting prior to the Assembly poll. A subtle message was sent with the exclusion of the then state party chief Chandrabhan — a known Gehlot acolyte — from the confabulation. But the reconciliation process went nowhere, with neither of the leaders agreeing to back down on their respective methods for choosing candidates.

Eventually, the tiff became one of the reasons for the Congress losing the election. However, over the last five years, while Gehlot has managed to stage a comeback within the party — even wriggling his way into the Rahul Gandhi camp — CP Joshi has not managed a similar feat. His acts of defiance targeted at Gehlot have also not yielded results, though there have been patches of success. Recall that Joshi had become the president of Rajasthan Cricket Association much against Gehlot’s wishes and designs. In various recent agitations and fire-fighting situations — when Rahul Gandhi led an agitation outside the CBI headquarters in Delhi recently, Gehlot was by his side; when government formation had to be done in Karnataka after a hung Assembly came into being, Rahul Gandhi despatched Gehlot to the State to sort matters out — Gehlot has been the chosen one. &nbsp;

Rajasthan Assembly elections: With his 'Brahmin' remark, has CP Joshi cut the nose to spite the face?

BJP president Amit Shah said on Monday his party believed that a grand Ram temple should be built in Ayodhya soon and accused the Congress of putting

He alleged that the Congress was putting hurdles in the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya.

To a query on whether the Centre plans to bring an ordinance or enact a law to clear the way for construction of the temple, Shah said, "The Supreme Court has posted the hearing on Ram temple to January. Let's see what happens."

The Supreme Court last month had said that an "appropriate bench" will decide in the first week of January the schedule of hearing of the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case.

To another query, Shah expressed confidence the BJP would sweep the Madhya Pradesh assembly polls for the fourth consecutive time.

BJP president Amit Shah Sunday alleged that the Congress had "neglected" the "son of Telangana" and former prime minister PV Narasimha Rao after his death and sought the response of Rahul Gandhi, the chief of the opposition party, in the matter.

He also alleged that the Congress had not paid appropriate last respects to Rao, who died in 2004, when the party was in power at the Centre.

Addressing a public meeting here in Siddipet district ahead of the December 7 Telangana Assembly polls, Shah asked Gandhi to explain the "kind of treatment" meted out to Rao after his demise.

"Now Rahul Gandhiji is saying everyone should live with love. I want to ask him, when the son of Telangana and our former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao had died, (why) no 'salami' was given to his mortal remains and why were they sent to Hyderabad.

"I want to ask him (Gandhi), why such a treatment was meted out to the son of Telangana," he said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had accused the Congress in the past also of ignoring the legacy of Rao and humiliating him, which was denied by the opposition party.

During his speech, Shah listed out various welfare schemes launched by the Narendra Modi government in the last four-and-a-half years.

He said the Centre was working for various sections of the society, including the poor, farmers, women, Dalits and tribals.

Crores of toilets and houses were built for the people under the watch of the BJP government, Shah said.

"Our government provided LPG connections to poor women and also ensured electricity. These development works improved the standard of living of over 22 crore families," he added.

Improving the country's security was the biggest work of Prime Minister Modi, the BJP chief said.

"Under the previous UPA government, infiltrators from Pakistan used to enter India but no proper reply was given to them in those 10 years. However, after the Uri terror attack (in 2016), India under Modiji carried out surgical strikes in Pakistan and avenged the killing of our soldiers," he added.

Shah said the respect for India had increased manifold in the world under Modi.

Turning to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government in the southern state, he claimed that the ruling party had failed to implement several welfare programmes of the Centre, including its ambitious health insurance scheme, because it was "scared" that the prime minister might become more popular in Telangana.

Shah accused TRS chief and caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) of not extending any help to the farmers in the state, due to which, he said over 4,000 of them committed suicide in the last four-and-a-half years.

Shah said KCR had failed to fulfil the promises made to the people of Telangana, including the three-acre land parcel scheme for Dalits.

He appealed to the people to vote the saffron party to power in the upcoming polls as the Congress, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the TRS had been elected earlier.

"Give one chance to Modiji and we will transform Telangana into a model state in five years," Shah said.

The 119-member Telangana Assembly will go to the polls on December 7 and the results will be announced on December 11.

They freely exchanged barbs and traded charges, raising the political temperature in the central state.

National and state issues, including the Rafale deal, demonetisation, development, GST, corruption, dynastic politics and the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government's performance, among others, prominently figured in their speeches.

BJP president Amit Shah, too, campaigned in the state, where his party is seeking a fourth straight term in office.

A purported video of MP Congress chief Kamal Nath on Muslim votes went viral during the last leg of electioneering with the BJP accusing the main opposition party of dividing society for electoral gains.

Two hours before the electioneering drew to a close, BJP vice-presidents Vinay Sahasrabuddhe and Prabhat Jha, addressing a press conference here, exuded confidence about the saffron outfit retaining power.

Sahasrabuddhe said electioneering started with "development" and "politics of performance" being discussed, but the Congress stooped low by dragging Modi's parents into the campaigning.

Addressing a separate press meet in the afternoon, chief Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala claimed his party was set to come back to power in the state after 15 years.

Surjewala targeted BJP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is seeking a fourth term of office, over the lack of development in his assembly constituency Budhni.

The Congress leader claimed 90 per cent of people in Jait, Chouhan's native village, are living below the poverty line. He said poverty had increased in MP under the BJP rule.

Jha, however, countered Surjewala's claims on poverty and dubbed them false.

The BJP is contesting all the 230 seats, while the Congress has fielded 229 candidates, leaving one seat, Jatara in Tikamgarh district, for its ally - Sharad Yadav's Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD).

Besides the Congress and the BJP, other parties like the BSP, the SP, the AAP and the SAPAKS (a new outfit opposed to caste-based quota system) are also in the fray.

While the BJP is fighting the polls under the leadership of Chouhan, the Congress has not projected its chief ministerial candidate.

In the final days of electioneering, Modi crisscrossed the state and addressed 10 public meetings.

Gandhi, during his whirlwind electioneering tour of MP, held 12 public meetings and roadshows this month.

Amit Shah camped in Madhya Pradesh, where he addressed public meetings and held roadshows. The BJP chief held a roadshow in Indore hours before the campaigning ended.

Besides Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj and Smriti Irani also addressed rallies in support of BJP candidates.

During the electioneering, Gandhi announced his party will waive the loans of farmers in 10 days of coming to power.

Modi, speaking at one of his rallies, said farmers were in debt due to the "wrong policies" of the previous Congress governments and maintained the Centre was working on doubling income of cultivators by 2022.

The BJP primarily focused on the 10-year "misrule" of former Congress Chief Minister Digvijay Singh and listed the achievements under Chouhan.

The ruling party said Madhya Pradesh shed the 'BIMARU' (laggard) tag under Chouhan and saw all-round development under his leadership.

The highest number of 34 candidates are in the Mehgaon constituency in Bhind district, while the lowest -- four -- in Gunnor in Panna district, an EC official said.

According to the official, there are around 1,100 independents in the fray. 
The BSP has fielded 227 candidates, while the SP is contesting on 51 seats.&nbsp;

The Aam Aadmi Party, contesting the Madhya Pradesh elections for the first time, has fielded 208 candidates.

As per the final electoral rolls, the state has 5,04,95,251 voters, including 2,41,30,390 women and 1,389 from the third gender.

In the last assembly polls, the BJP had won 165 seats, the Congress 58, the BSP four and independents three.&nbsp;

A purported video of MP Congress chief Kamal Nath on Muslim votes went viral during the last leg of electioneering with the BJP accusing the main opposition party of dividing society for electoral gains. Two hours before the electioneering drew to a close, BJP vice-presidents Vinay Sahasrabuddhe and Prabhat Jha, addressing a press conference here, exuded confidence about the saffron outfit retaining power. The BJP is contesting all the 230 seats, while the Congress has fielded 229 candidates, leaving one seat, Jatara in Tikamgarh district, for its ally - Sharad Yadav's Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD). Besides the Congress and the BJP, other parties like the BSP, the SP, the AAP and the SAPAKS (a new outfit opposed to caste-based quota system) are also in the fray. While the BJP is fighting the polls under the leadership of Chouhan, the Congress has not projected its chief ministerial candidate. In the final days of electioneering, Modi crisscrossed the state and addressed 10 public meetings. The BJP primarily focused on the 10-year "misrule" of former Congress Chief Minister Digvijay Singh and listed the achievements under Chouhan. The ruling party said Madhya Pradesh shed the 'BIMARU' (laggard) tag under Chouhan and saw all-round development under his leadership. The highest number of 34 candidates are in the Mehgaon constituency in Bhind district, while the lowest -- four -- in Gunnor in Panna district, an EC official said. According to the official, there are around 1,100 independents in the fray. The BSP has fielded 227 candidates, while the SP is contesting on 51 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party, contesting the Madhya Pradesh elections for the first time, has fielded 208 candidates. As per the final electoral rolls, the state has 5,04,95,251 voters, including 2,41,30,390 women and 1,389 from the third gender. In the last assembly polls, the BJP had won 165 seats, the Congress 58, the BSP four and independents three.

Only 50 per cent people of the country had their bank account and 55 per cent had LPG connection in 2014 and now every Indian has his bank account and 90 per cent families have LPG connection. 
 
The Prime Minister also spoke about developmental works done by the Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje led BJP government in Rajasthan. 
 
He said that 36,000 km new roads were constructed in last five years including rural, state highways and national highways. As many as 50 lakh young entrepreneurs in the state alone received loans under Mudra Scheme.&nbsp; 
 
He appealed to the people of Rajasthan to bring the BJP back to power.

Justice will surely be done, assures PM Modi on 26/11 attack by Pakistan terrorists

Chief Electoral Officer, Madhya Pradesh, VL Kantha Rao on Sunday informed that 1,80,000 security personnel including officers of state police, Central para-military forces and home guards will be deployed in the state of Madhya Pradesh ahead of assembly elections due for November 28.

Sharing details of the poll preparedness in the state, Rao while addressing a press conference here said, "In law and order front, 85% of Madhya Pradesh state police personnel have been drafted in election duty and 90% home guard have been involved in election work. If we combine state police, constables and home guards about 80, 000 security personnel from states are being deployed for election duty. Apart from these one lakh more security personnel including 650 companies of Central para-military forces will be on election duty in the state."

He also informed that inter-state checkpoints of the state have been sealed and campaign vehicles have been prohibited from entering the state.

He further said, "As of now around 72 hours are left for polling exercise to culminate in the state. Warehouse, distillery, brewery and bottling plants in the state have been forbidden to bring out any supplies of liquor. From other states, no supply of liquor will be allowed to come in the boundaries of the state. From 5 PM onwards on 25th November, 456 inter-state check-points have been sealed and all political or campaign-related vehicles have been prohibited from entering through these points. Our 1770 teams of flying squads and surveillance personnel have been made operational in the state for next 72 hours."

He also asserted that in terms of the vehicular moment, the poll body had prohibited the formation of a convoy of more than 10 vehicles. The state will go to polls on November 28 to elect its 230 members of legislative assembly. The results will be declared on December 11.

Congress calls Naxals revolutionaries, issues them certificates: PM Modi at poll rally in Rajasthan

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Congress party and said that it is the Congress which is responsible for the destruction of Madhya Pradesh and is now furious at him because he developed the state.

Addressing an election campaign rally, Chouhan said, "It is Congress party which is responsible for the destruction of Madhya Pradesh. Congress is now running a campaign that there is anger. I want to ask people if they are angry with me. It is not people but the Congress which is furious at me."

"They are furious because they gave me potholed filled state and I constructed 1.5 lakh kilometres of excellent roads and gave it to the public. Congress is furious because they had made Madhya Pradesh a state of darkness and we provided excellent power supply to the public. They are worried hence making allegations," he added.

Later addressing a public rally at Dewas, he made promises of bearing the higher education expenses of students and providing two-wheelers to the girls achieving good marks, "My government is resolved to bear the higher education expenses of students of the state who score good marks. The daughters of this state who get 75% marks in the 12th standard will be provided with a scooty by the government."

The saffron party, however, has countered the Congress' claim citing benefits of the Centre's Ujjwala scheme and state's Bhamashah scheme.

Alwar with its 11 assembly seats, spread across 8,380 sq kms, has a population of 36.74 lakh with females constituting over 17.35 lakh, according to the 2011 census. About 30.17 lakh of them reside in rural areas.

As per the 2013 assembly polls figures, Alwar's eleven assembly segments together had a total of 20,62,966 voters, including 11,08,086 males, 9,54,880 females and 13,572 service voters.

Alwar's total population includes around 9 lakh scheduled castes and scheduled tribes with Mevs of Muslim community having a sizeable presence in constituencies like Tijara and Ramgarh, infamous for mob lynchings by cow vigilantes.

In the 2013 assembly elections, the BJP had won nine out of 11 seats in Alwar but the election figures thrown up after a 2018 Lok Sabha bypolls, necessitated due to the death of Alwar's BJP MP Mahant Chandnath Yogi show that the electoral winds that blew in the favour BJP during the 2013 assembly elections, might have reversed in the favour of the Congress.

The Alwar Lok Sabha seat falling vacant by Yogi's death was grabbed by Karan Singh Yadav of the Congress with a huge margin of over 1.96 lakh votes and he had demonstrated an edge over the BJP in most of the 11 assembly seats within the Alwar Lok Sabha constituency.

Yadav now is contesting the upcoming assembly polls from Alwar, imparting the requisite impetus to the Congress in all assembly segments across Alwar, where it had established a clear lead over the BJP.

"Our only agenda is development, the usual one since beginning. We want to fight the polls on basis of developmental works done in Rajasthan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje," BJP's Alwar unit chief Sanjay Singh Narooka told PTI.

He said the BJP government has worked for upliftment of the poor, who have been largely benefitted from the healthcare schemes like Bhamashah and government's initiatives on education.

The BJP has provided LPG gas connections to the households and a Rs 1,000 crore worth Amrit scheme was being implemented to resolve the drinking water problem in Alwar, which falls in 'dark zone', he added.

"The Congress only used to talk about working for the poor, but the BJP has positively worked for it," Narooka asserted.

On the issue of civic amenities, he said the focus has been on developing the rural areas with "Gaurav Paths", as well as the urban streets, which had been in bad shape due to improper sewer lines in the city.

The Congress' Alwar unit chief Tikaram Jully, however, sought to enlist a slew of shortcomings in the BJP's governance and developmental works in Alwar district.

He said the previous Congress government in the state had secured the Centre's approval for several projects, including one for the establishment of an ESIC medical college and hospital in Alwar, but the BJP failed to pursue it.

He claimed the medical college plan was cancelled because the BJP could not identify the site for the medical college in five years.

He said the work on a university and 12 paramilitary recruitment and training centres that were brought to Alwar by the previous Congress regime have been going on at a snail's pace for the last five years during the present regime.

Even the height of a mini secretariat which had been proposed to be a five-storey structure has been reduced to a three-storey one by the Raje government, he said.

"These works could have emerged as milestones in the development of Alwar," said Jully, who will be contesting the assembly polls from one of the assembly seats in the Alwar district.

On the national level, he said, the BJP talked of building Ram temple, cleaning the Ganga and making smart cities, but it was the Congress which introduced the schemes like MNREGA, the Food Security Act, Indira Awas Yojna and the Right to Information Act among others.

Additionally, Jully said, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's had distributed laptops to youths under the Digital Education scheme in the state.

"The BJP government has only reduced the number of beneficiaries in various public welfare schemes like the pension schemes and the food security programme.

"Promises of jobs to the youths and doubling the farmers' income have so far remained unfulfilled. They neither waived the farmers' loan nor bought their crops at the enhanced 'minimum support price as promised," he alleged.

Jully said the Congress was now focussing on farmers, youths, middle class and small traders and exuded confidence of adding to the momentum established during its victory in the Alwar Lok Sabha bypoll.&nbsp;

The elections to the 200 assembly seats in Rajasthan would be held on December 7 and its results will be declared on December 11.

The Congress in Rajasthan Saturday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against BJP president Amit Shah alleging that he had provoked his party's workers against leaders of the opposition party during his recent visit to Bikaner.&nbsp;

It also filed complaints with the poll panel against Rajasthan Urban Development and Housing Minister Srichand Kriplani and BJP MLA Ramhet Yadav.

The Congress alleged that BJP chief Shah, the minister and the legislator had violated the model code of conduct in the state, where elections are due on December 7.&nbsp;

"Shah during his recent visit to Bikaner had provoked his party workers against Congress leaders.&nbsp;Minister and BJP candidate from Nimbahera (Kriplani) had invoked sentiments of the public by telling people that he will commit suicide if they did not vote him to power," Rajasthan Congress spokesperson Sushil Sharma said.

In an apparent reference to the illegal sand mining in Rajasthan, he said BJP MLA Ramhet Singh Yadav, that party's candidate from Alwar's Kishangarh Bas, made a remark which was in contempt of a Supreme Court order.

&nbsp;In a video, Yadav was seen purportedly seeking votes by telling people that "it is Ramhet Yadav's Sarkar, therefore loaded tractors are plying".&nbsp;

The Razakars were an armed militia of the Hyderabad Nizamate who tried to brutally put down a revolt by peasants opposed to the Nizam's decision to not merge with India following Independence.

Addressing a rally here on Sunday, Shah said: "This is the land (Nirmal) where Akbaruddin Owaisi gave a speech. He insulted Hindu gods. There was also a case against him. But this TRS government failed to take further action."

Taking a swipe at KCR on the issue, Shah added, "I want to ask Chandrasekhar Rao, why are you not taking action? Do it now, otherwise you would lose power to take action (TRS government would be voted out)."

Continuing his tirade, Shah said KCR, as the Telangana CM is popularly known, had no time to visit families of the 60 people who died when a overcrowded state bus plunged into a valley in Kondagattu in the state's Jagtial district in August this year.

"This Chief Minister does not have the time to visit the victims of the Kondagattu (bus) accident. But he has time to eat biryani with Owaisi brothers (AIMIM chief Asaduddin and Akbaruddin)," he said.

The ruling TRS and the Congress-led grand alliance are trying to woo farmers, youth and those receiving social security pensions to win the Telangana Legislative Assembly polls scheduled for December 7.

Focusing on the youth, the Congress has promised financial assistance of Rs 3,000 per month to the unemployed.

One lakh jobs in state government departments would be filled up within a year, it said.

The TDP, in its manifesto for the Assembly elections, has also promised up to Rs two lakh farm loan waiver as well as a monthly financial assistance of Rs 3,000 to the unemployed youth.

The manifesto said vacancies in government departments would be filled up every year as per a calender prepared for the purpose.

It has promised free laptop computers to students from intermediate (XI and XII) to university level.

The party has also assured that an additional Rs 5,000 crore would be allocated to the Education budget.

The TDP manifesto said cycles would be distributed for free to girls students from Class VIII to intermediate (XI and XII).

Telangana polls: Parties bet big on farmers and youth

BJP president Amit Shah Sunday accused the Congress of supporting "urban Naxals" and said his party will put Maoists in jail if it is voted to power in Telangana.

"Urban Naxals" is a term used to describe city-based supporters working in alleged front organisations of proscribed Maoist outfits.

Addressing a public meeting in Nirmal district, Shah said, "Recently they (urban Naxals) were arrested in Maharashtra. The BJP government there, led by Devendra Fadnavis, put them behind bars but Rahul Gandhi supported them."

"Rahul baba, are you aware that hundreds of people in Telangana have died due to Naxalism?" he asked.

The BJP chief claimed Maoists were "hiding" in different parts of the state and said his party would look for them and send them to prison.

"They have only two options -- either join the mainstream or get ready to face jail," Shah said.

He also trained his guns at Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief and the state's caretaker chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, popularly known as KCR, for demanding reservation for minorities.

The BJP chief said Rao-led Telangana government had forwarded a proposal to the Centre demanding 12 per cent reservation for minorities despite knowing that it is not possible to do so.

"You dont worry. Even if KCR, the Congress, the TDP and Communists come together, I guarantee that till the BJP government is in the Centre, religion-based reservation will not be granted," Shah said.

He accused Rao of failing to provide employment to the family members of those who sacrificed their lives during the Telangana statehood movement.

Shah claimed Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government had extended over 2.30 lakh crore for Telangana's development in the last four and half years, but the funds had not been utilised for the state's development.

"Over 2.30 lakh crore has been given by the central government to Telangana. Had it been any other state, problems would have been solved long back by utilising these funds. He (KCR) is not concerned about the children of Telangana, but only about his son and daughter," he alleged.

The BJP chief told the gathering that he had brought a message from Modi which asked the people to bring the party to power in the December 7 assembly polls so that Telangana can be developed as a model state.
