In Florida, state officials renamed Palm Beach International Airport, near his Mar-a-Lago resort, as President Donald J. Trump International Airport. The airport's flight code was also changed to DJT, while a nearby access road was named President Donald J. Trump Boulevard.&nbsp;His administration has also pursued changes involving major national institutions. These include renaming the US Institute of Peace and the Kennedy Centre, as well as plans for a President Donald J. Trump Ballroom at the White House.&nbsp;Trump's name has also featured in defence, healthcare and economic initiatives. The administration introduced the proposed Trump-class battleships for the US Navy, named the Air Force's next-generation fighter the F-47 in reference to Trump's position as the 47th US president, and launched the TrumpRx prescription drug portal.&nbsp;Other initiatives included the Trump Gold Card visa programme for wealthy investors and Form 4547, associated with the administration's tax-related initiatives and Trump's non-consecutive terms as the 45th and 47th president.<h3>Trump’s previous renaming proposals</h3>Earlier this month, Trump floated the idea of renaming either the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean as “Trump Ocean” or the “Ocean of the Americas” during a campaign rally in Clarksville, Tennessee.&nbsp;The proposal is part of a broader series of renaming initiatives pursued during Trump's second presidential term. After returning to the White House, he signed an executive order directing the US government to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America and restore Alaska's Mount Denali to its former name, Mount McKinley. The administration also proposed calling Lake Ontario “Lake America”.&nbsp;Google Maps adopted the Gulf of America label for users in the United States, triggering strong opposition from Mexico. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum mocked Trump's decision by suggesting that the entire North American continent should instead be renamed “América Mexicana”.&nbsp;Trump's administration has also pursued changes to military base names. Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth signed orders restoring names including Fort Bragg, Fort Benning and Fort Hood, reversing earlier renaming decisions.

Trump’s bid to put his name on everything: This time, it was Atlantic Ocean; a look at past efforts

US President Donald Trump revealed he discussed the idea of renaming the Atlantic Ocean on Google Maps with Google CEO Sundar Pichai; however, the company showed little enthusiasm for the idea. Trump's remark came while addressing a rally in South Carolina on October 21, where he also joked about rebranding the Pacific Ocean as the “American Ocean” and mused over how European leaders might react to such a move. Trump said he had weighed renaming the Atlantic Ocean but ultimately decided to discuss the idea after speaking to Pichai. He also referred to a previous decision by Google to display the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America for US-based Google Maps users. While addressing the rally, Trump recounted his conversation with Pichai, calling him a “brilliant guy”, about the proposal.

“And I said, Sundar, I’m thinking of the Atlantic Ocean. Can you handle it?” Trump said. In response, Pichai said, “No, no, no. This time I’m not doing it. Oceans are different, sir. You know, they cover a lot of… They cover really a lot of countries. Please don’t ask us to do that.”&nbsp;Also read: <a href="https://www.wionews.com/trending/it-s-a-crime-not-to-see-this-scene-tehran-puts-trump-behind-bars-1792648664879">'It's a crime not to see this scene': Tehran puts Trump ‘behind bars’</a><h3>Trump mentions Google co-founder Sergey Brin</h3>While appreciating the company's leadership, Trump also mentioned Google co-founder Sergey Brin. “So we seriously looked at the Atlantic Ocean, and I called Google Maps, who were really great with the lake,” Trump said to supporters at Clemson. “And I spoke to a brilliant guy, Sundar. He heads all of Google. He’s a brilliant guy. Sergey and Sundar, totally brilliant guys,” he said, apparently referring to Google co-founder Sergey Brin. “And, you know, they’re still rattled from the Gulf.” The US President then indicated he might abandon the proposal to rename the Atlantic Ocean. “So I’ll probably pass. Should I pass? I think let’s keep it the Atlantic Ocean, right?” Trump said. He did, however, raise the idea of renaming the Pacific Ocean, asking the audience how Europe might react to such a move. “We’re going to call it the American Ocean. How do you think Europe would fit?” he said. Trump added that he only favoured the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, and had no intention of attaching his name or his country’s name to any other body of water.

Trump said he had weighed renaming the Atlantic Ocean but ultimately decided to discuss the idea after speaking to Pichai. He also referred to a previous decision by Google to display the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America for US-based Google Maps users.

‘No technology makes me dream bigger than AI’: Google CEO Sundar Pichai announces USD 15 billion AI investment in Vizag

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has said that no company in the world, including Google, will be protected if the current AI boom collapses. He said this during an interview with the BBC, where he spoke openly about the rising fears of an AI market bubble fuelled by heavy investment and soaring valuations.&nbsp;Pichai described the moment as “extraordinary” but admitted that the market is showing “elements of irrationality”, similar to the early 2000s dot-com bubble.<h2>AI valuations raising concerns across markets</h2>According to the BBC report, analysts have questioned whether current AI valuations can last, as both large tech companies and start-ups attract huge funding.Alphabet, Google’s parent company, has seen its shares rise around 46 per cent this year, supported by investor confidence in its AI products and competition with OpenAI.&nbsp;However, fears of a bubble are also visible in wider markets. In the United States, high AI valuations have started to affect broader trading sentiment. British policymakers have also issued warnings about the “bubble-like” environment forming around AI companies.&nbsp;In September, Alphabet announced a £5 billion investment over two years in the UK to support AI research and infrastructure, including a new data centre and additional funding for DeepMind. The company also plans to begin training AI models in Britain, a move welcomed by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer as part of his aim to make the country a global AI leader.&nbsp;Pichai: Google not immune despite its strong position&nbsp;When asked if Google would remain unaffected if the AI bubble bursts, Pichai told the BBC:&nbsp;“I think no company is going to be immune, including us.”&nbsp;He added that Google may still be in a better position than others because it runs a full-stack system managing everything from data centres to consumer products. This gives the company more control, which could help it stay stable even during a market downturn.&nbsp;Still, he acknowledged that the rapid growth of AI models requires massive computing power and energy, and Alphabet’s own net-zero targets are likely to be delayed due to the rising energy demands of AI.&nbsp;Pichai warns users not to “blindly trust” AI chatbots&nbsp;The BBC report also highlights Pichai’s comments on AI hallucinations situations where AI tools produce incorrect information with confidence.&nbsp;The Google CEO said AI systems can still make mistakes, and users should always verify important information. He added:&nbsp;People “have to learn to use these tools for what they’re good at, and not blindly trust everything they say.”&nbsp;Google has faced similar concerns with its own models as the company tries to improve the accuracy and reliability of AI tools used by millions.&nbsp;<h2>Dot-com comparison adds weight to market fears</h2>Pichai’s comment that there are “elements of irrationality” echoes past warnings from major market figures.&nbsp;Earlier, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon told the BBC that the rising US stock market looked unsustainable and that “some of the money being invested in AI is bound to be lost”.&nbsp;Like the dot-com era, many analysts now believe only a few AI companies will succeed in the long run, while others may fail if the bubble bursts.&nbsp;&nbsp;

India in the AI race

Google, intensifying the race of AI among the tech giants, announced that it will be incorporating a conversational AI chat in its search engine.

In an exclusive interview with The Wall Street Journal, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that the company's search engine will be supercharged with the recent advances made in conversational AI.

Pichai's comments come at a time when tech giants like Microsoft, Meta and others are scrambling to incorporate AI technologies into their services and products.

“Will people be able to ask questions to Google and engage with large language models (LLMs) in the context of search? Absolutely,” said Pichai, while speaking to the news outlet.

Pichai further dismissed reports that suggested the development of chatbots is threatening the existence of the search giant.

“The opportunity space, if anything, is bigger than before,” said Pichai, who also heads Google's parent company Alphabet Inc.

The Alphabet has been developing large language models (LLMs) which can process and respond to prompts in known language with human-like answers.

The company, however, has till now not been able to integrate the technology into its search which accounts for more than half of the revenue that the company generates.

Vague hints were dropped by Google in March about its plan to integrate AI technology into its search engines, however, no information was specified on its timeline. The announcement was made when Google launched “Bard”&nbsp;— its own version of OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

Millions of dollars were pumped into AI powerhouse OpenAI by tech giant&nbsp;Microsoft a few weeks ago, after which ChatGPT was integrated into its Bing search engine. This development gave Microsoft's search engine an edge over Google search which is still following the conventional search approach.

As it continues to face heat from its rival Microsoft after the integration of ChatGPT in Bing, investors have also been pressurising Google to cut costs. Recently, Google announced that it would be laying off 12,000 employees, which comprises 6 per cent of its workforce.

“We are definitely being focused on creating durable savings. We are pleased with the progress, but there is more work left to do,” Pichai said.

Google search to soon incorporate AI chat, says Sundar Pichai

Indian filmmaker Suneel Darshan, famed for films like 'Inteqam' and 'Andaaz,' has filed a FIR against Google, its CEO, Sundar Pichai, and numerous other Google workers, alleging copyright violations of his 2017 directorial 'Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha' on YouTube.

Darshan claims that, despite the fact that he did not upload the film anywhere or sell it to anyone, it is being profited from by many YouTube channels, and that Google has refused to remove the film from those channels.

Infringement of Sections 51, 63, and 69 of the Copyright Act of 1957, according to his FIR filed with the MIDC Police Station in Andheri East.&nbsp;

He said: "My faith and belief in the advancement of technology are implicit, but the infringement of my rights is a cause of grave concern."

He added: "My entire copyrighted movie, apart from its songs and sequences from it, has been uploaded and monetised, and I have helplessly watched such illegal acts."

In the complaint, Google LLC, YouTube LLC, Google India Ltd., Pichai, and others were mentioned.

Sections 51, 63, and 69 of the Copyright Act, 1957, which deal with copyright infringement, were used to record the offence.

FIR against Google CEO Sundar Pichai, five others over film piracy on YouTube

Google, which quit China in 2010 in protest over Beijing's strict censorship policies, is not relaunching its services in the country without the "right conditions," CEO Sundar Pichai has said.&nbsp;

Google faced outrage last year when it was reported that the company may have been looking to get back into the search engine business in China, the world's second largest economy.&nbsp;

In an interview to CNN, the 46-year-old Indian-origin CEO of Google said the company was not actively working on a new Chinese search engine, though he acknowledged that Google was ignoring China and its hundreds of millions of internet users.

"There are no plans for us to consider relaunching our service in China," Pichai said. He added, "we have always looked at serving the next billion users....Our mission compass is to provide information."

Google is committed to following international laws and regulations, he said.
&nbsp;
Though China doesn't share Google's value of a free and open internet, the company, reaching more users is "always a set of continued conversations we have at Google."

Pichai said that Google would need the "right conditions" to relaunch in the country, and censorship-free internet is an "important condition" for making that decision. But he declined to share further details, the report said.

"I don't want to speculate on a hypothetical situation," he said. "We have no plans. And, you know, we are not spending time on it."

China has long been a conundrum for tech companies, which are drawn to its massive user base and thriving online shopping market.&nbsp;

But human rights abuses and tightening authority by the ruling Communist Party of China over free speech and information has forced companies to grapple with ethical questions, the CNN report said.&nbsp;

According to the US State Department, since 2017, up to 2 million Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyzs and other predominantly Muslim ethnic minorities have been held against their will in internment camps.

When asked to respond to US General Joseph Dunford's claim that Google's work in China "is a direct benefit" to the nation's military, <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/sundar-pichai-announces-googles-retreat-from-us-militarys-ai-weapons-project-143079">Pichai said Google</a> had "good conversations" about that controversy and said it has "cleared up any misunderstandings."

"We are not doing any work in China. We have a limited presence in China," he said.&nbsp;

That includes "limited AI," or artificial intelligence, work through an open-source project called TensorFlow, he said. The company also does "some non-profit work," Pichai said.

Google had shut its operation in China in 2010 declaring that it won't censor search results. The country runs its own version of search and social media sites.

Addressing fears that China may try to manipulate the company, Pichai said: “People don't understand fully, but you're always balancing a set of values in every new country."

“It's a wonderful, innovative market. We wanted to learn what it would look like if we were in China, so that's what we built internally," Pichai said, adding,"given how important the market is and how many users there are, we feel obliged to think hard about this problem and take a longer-term view."

"We don't know whether we would or could do this in China but we felt it was important to explore," he said.

Pichai asserted that Google would be able to serve "99% of the queries" made by people in the new project. The Google CEO added that the company had considered China's strong censorship rules while giving the go-ahead for the project.

Pichai had earlier met Republican senators over the issue last month, reports said even as the company faced criticism over possible Chinese repression. The Google CEO is set to appear before the US House panel next month as Republicans want to question Google&nbsp;about whether its search algorithms are influenced by human bias.

Pichai&nbsp;is now also&nbsp;likely to be grilled on the new project.

&quot;Thank you so much for your letter. I&#39;m glad that you like computers and robots, and hope that you will continue to learn about technology. I think that if you keep working hard and following your dreams, you can accomplish everything that you set your mind to - from working at Google to swimming in the Olympics.
