"From what I can see there is a bit of confusion around. And there are several different threads there to why they are choosing to be jabbed or not to speak publicly about it," said Southgate.&nbsp;

Southgate said he understands why players may not want to speak about having the vaccine. "As I've said all along, I don't see a better way of getting through the pandemic than a vaccination programme," he added.&nbsp;

FIFA's congress voted to carry out a feasibility study on holding the men's and women's World Cups every two years, a proposal which has been met with opposition, most notably from European governing body UEFA.

England coach Gareth Southgate said some fans do not understand the message behind players taking a knee before matches after the gesture was booed ahead of Wednesday's 1-0 friendly win over Austria.

Around 7,000 fans were at Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium for the Euro 2020 warm-up and jeers could be heard from sections of the crowd before they were drowned out by applause from other supporters.

Players have been taking a knee before kickoff in support of the anti-racism 'Black Lives Matter' movement but Southgate said some fans view it as a "political stand" they do not agree with.

"I was pleased it was drowned out by the majority of the crowd but we can't deny it happened," Southgate said.

"It's not something on behalf of our Black players that I wanted to hear because it feels as though it is a criticism of them.

"I think the majority of people understand it. Some people aren't quite understanding the message and I suppose we are seeing that across a number of football grounds at the moment."

Midfielder Jack Grealish said none of the players were happy about it.

"I think that will get talked about in the next few days," he told Sky Sports. "It's a thing we don't want in football in general and especially in our games."

Asked if going out before the semis would be seen as a failure, Southgate told reporters: "Yes, it probably will. I think we're realistic about that, we have to live with that expectation.

"We know the excitement around the team and it’s great, we’re now relevant.

"We've been to two semi-finals so the next step is to try to go further."

England also made it to the semi-finals of the Nations League in 2019 as well as Euro 1996, played in England.

Southgate, speaking after announcing his final squad, said expectations were greater now than during the last World Cup, even with England having one of the youngest squads.

"I've got to try to manage the expectations for the players. I accept the situation as a manager there's expectation, I have to deliver. We have to deliver as a group of staff, it's not about me in terms of if we can be successful," he added.

"Of course it's about me if we fail, so no problem. That's the gig."

"For someone like me who runs my own account and has that interaction and love with the fans ... I don't have any problems with social media. I think it's important that a player like me can have that interaction with fans.

"But ... Henry has obviously boycotted. I've seen (Gareth) Bale come out and say something. Maybe it's a decision that may be spoken about in the future between the players, but at the moment, no."

UEFA has asked their staff not to travel in the next two weeks which means there will few people present in Amsterdam for the Nations League draw on Tuesday.

The Union of European Football Associations will be going ahead with the Champions League and Europa League games but meetings, get-togethers or workshops which are not urgent or necessary are put on hold.&nbsp;

The Football Association (FA) awaits updates from the government and UEFA regarding the Euros and the friendly match between Italy and Denmark at the month-end.&nbsp;

Wembley hosts a friendly fixture with Italy on March 27, this is a major concern as Italy has been the worst-hit European nation in terms of coronavirus outbreak.&nbsp;

England coach Gareth Southgate will be travelling to Amsterdam for the Nations League draw along with several members of FA staff and UEFA is adamant that the Euro 2020 tournament is not in imminent danger.

Asked if there was any panic at Monday’s UEFA meetings, Executive Committee member Alexey Sorokin said: “No - we don't sense any panic. None whatsoever.

FA chairman Greg Clarke said: "We're planning on the basis that the games will go ahead. If the government decides on a change of policy, of course, we will adhere to that policy."

"Clarity soon is better, but the facts are changing so quickly, you can't penalise the government for not quite knowing what the situation will be like in a month. I understand the problem."
