Using the data he spotted unique, periodic shifts in the light spectrum emitted by the host star, which may have been caused by the gravitational pull of a nearby planet. However, as the signal was faint, it was not clear whether it was caused by a planet, the star, or due to an instrumental error.

To verify the signal, an international team analysed the data with HARPS and its successor ESPRESSO.
&ldquo;We worked on data analysis for years, gradually analyzing and eliminating all possible sources of contamination,&rdquo; said Dr Cretignier. After combining the results from the two instruments, and using advanced processing methods and meticulous analyses, the planet&rsquo;s discovery was confirmed.

&ldquo;For me, it was naturally a huge joy when we could confirm the planet's existence,&rdquo; Dr Cretignier said. &ldquo;It was also a relief, since the original signal was at the edge of the spectrograph's detection limit, so it was hard to be completely convinced at that time if the signal was real or not. Excitingly, its proximity to us (only 20 light years) means there is hope for future space missions to obtain an image of it.&rdquo;
<h2>Opens door for future space projects</h2>
While the planet is located in the habitable zone, further study is needed to determine whether it could actually host life. The discovery of HD 20794 d will help scientists in future space projects designed to detect signs of life beyond our solar system.

A new catalogue of 126 strange worlds was published by NASA which in detail talked about these alien planets and how they are different from Earth.&nbsp;

Multiple papers were published related to this survey which specified some of the features of these alien planets.&nbsp;

The most extreme planet amongst them was TOI-1798 which was looked into by Alex Polanski, a physics and astronomy graduate student from the University of Kansas.&nbsp;

In the paper, lead author Polanski explained that this planet's orbit makes it travel very close to an orange dwarf star in a span of less than 12 hours.

What was more interesting was to find that one year on this planet is equal to less than half a day on planet Earth. The planet is also boiling hot as it gets more than 3,000 times the radiation Earth gets from the Sun.

TOI-1798 is not just a planet but a system which has two planets. In this system, the inner planet is like a Super-Earth which is near its star and one year lasts about half an Earth day.&nbsp;

In another paper, which was authored by UCR graduate student Michelle Hill, the discovery of two planets was mentioned which were spotted orbiting a star which is like our Sun that is almost 479 light years away.&nbsp;

This planet needs just 26 days to orbit its star. Meanwhile, its neighbour TOI-1386 c is a gas giant which is as big as Jupiter, however, has a mass closer to Saturn’s and takes 227 days to complete a roundabout of the same star.&nbsp;

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) said that the planet, Epsilon Indi Ab, is one of the coldest exoplanets observed to date.&nbsp;

The planet is roughly the same diameter as Jupiter but with six times the mass. The big difference is that it takes this planet more than a century, possibly as long as 250 years, to go around its star. Its atmosphere is also rich in hydrogen similar to that of Jupiter.&nbsp;

The discovery of WASP-39 b was announced in 2011 and in July 2022, it became the first exoplanet to be studied by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, which is the largest, most powerful telescope ever launched into space.&nbsp;

The team discovered Phoenix with the help of data from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) and with the radial velocity measurements obtained by the High Resolution Echelle Spectrometer (HIRES) at the Keck Observatory.&nbsp;

The data from both the satellite and observatory indicated that Phoenix is 0.55 times the size of Jupiter but only 0.06 times as massive, which orbits a red giant star with a period of approximately 4.2 days. This period is about six times closer to its star than the distance between Mercury and the Sun.

Looking at the age and temperature of its star and the planet’s significantly low density, the researchers deduced that Phoenix’s gaseous envelopes should have been stripped away billions of years ago.&nbsp;

The team also estimates that the planet is the puffiest “puff planet”, based on its density.&nbsp;

“This planet isn’t evolving the way we thought it would. It appears to have a much bigger, less dense atmosphere than we expected for these systems. How it held on to that atmosphere despite being so close to such a large host star is the big question,” Sam Grunblatt, an astrophysicist with JHU explained in a press release.

“It’s the smallest planet we’ve ever found around one of these red giants, and probably the lowest mass planet orbiting a [red] giant star we’ve ever seen. That’s why it looks really weird. We don’t know why it still has an atmosphere when other ‘hot Neptunes’ that are much smaller and much denser seem to be losing their atmospheres in much less extreme environments.”

Nevertheless, these findings are crucial to predict Earth's atmosphere that it may not evolve the way astronomers previously expected. Instead of our Sun blasting it away, our atmosphere may expand to become incredibly “puffy.”

According to the scientists, the planet will spiral into its giant star for nearly 100 million years.

The discovery of Phoenix has shown that different kinds of exoplanets&nbsp;exist across the universe and has demonstrated that a planetary system is able to evolve in many ways.&nbsp;

"This planet isn't evolving the way we thought it would. It appears to have a much bigger, less dense atmosphere than we expected for these systems," said team leader and Johns Hopkins University astrophysicist Sam Grunblatt, in a statement.&nbsp;

"How it held on to that atmosphere despite being so close to such a large host star is the big question," he added.

TIC 365102760 is a&nbsp;type of red giant star which has spent nearly 10 billion years converting hydrogen to helium present at its core.&nbsp;

Once the hydrogen fuel needed for the&nbsp;nuclear fusion&nbsp;process was exhausted, the energy which was supporting the star against its own gravity would have had ended.

NEID, like other radial velocity instruments, relies on the Doppler effect- shifts in the light spectrum of a star that reveal its wobbling motions. In this case, parsing out the supposed planet signal at various wavelengths of light, emitted from different levels of the star's outer shell, revealed significant differences between individual wavelength measurements and the total signal when they were all combined.

Study author Stephen Kane from the University of California, Riverside, expressed his astonishment at the discovery. He said, "It was one of those discovery moments that you think, 'wow, it's amazing this can actually exist."&nbsp;

Comparing TOI-6713.01 to Jupiter's volcanic moon, Io, Kane described it as "Io on steroids" because of its constant volcanic eruptions. The planet's surface appears glowing and red-hot due to the volcanic activities.&nbsp;

"It's been forced into a situation where it's constantly exploding with volcanoes. At optical wavelengths you would be able to see a glowing, red-hot planet with a molten lava surface," Kane added.&nbsp;

<h2>Data gathered by&nbsp;TESS</h2>

The discovery of TOI-6713.01 was made possible through data gathered by NASA's Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). It studied the planet's host star HD 104067. While this star was previously known to host one giant planet and a rocky world, the study revealed the existence of another rocky planet in its orbit.

Researchers proposed that TOI-6713.01's volcanic activity may be driven by gravitational interactions with its parent body, similar to Io's relationship with Jupiter and its moons.

Notably, Jupiter's moon Io is volcanically active primarily due to tidal heating generated by its interactions with Jupiter and its neighbouring moons Europa and Ganymede.

"UNESCO is committed to preserving the linguistic diversity that represents human cultures from any crisis that threatens their destruction in the future, and preservation on the lunar surface is one means to preserve cultures," says ispace in a release posted on its website.&nbsp;

To fulfil this mission, the memory disk will contain the UNESCO Constitution's Preamble, which expresses "the importance of preserving world unity, linguistic diversity, and cultures". This preamble will be translated into 275 languages.

"At the time, the spacecraft was at roughly a third of the Earth’s distance from the Sun, heading for a closest approach of 43 million km on 7 October," revealed ESA.

The spacecraft is scheduled for an even closer approach to the Sun in October, promising more detailed observations of our nearest star.

Coronal rain features in the video as high-density plasma clumps that descend back to the Sun, driven by gravity.

The satellite possibly has a "very low radar cross-section," said McDowell, adding "And maybe the thing that they’re tracking is a dispenser or a piece of the balloon that didn't deploy right, so it’s not metal and doesn’t show up well on radar."

As per the report, on Earth, there are ground-based radar and optical seasons that any time are tracking more than 20,000 objects in orbit. This is tricky business, as the majority of these objects don't transmit their identities. Instead, tracking relies on matching orbits, a task made harder in geostationary orbits where tracking gaps exist.

"There's actually a hole in the tracking…If you hug the equator, you can hide from the tracking," explained McDowell.

"It's basically like air traffic control. All this stuff is whizzing around and if you're going to try flying through that, you want to know where the hazards are."

This rediscovery highlights the challenges of tracking the 27,000 objects in Earth's orbit, ranging from operational satellites to debris.&nbsp;
