<p>Pop sensation and country star Miley Cyrus has been accused of copying Bruno Mars' 2012 song "When I Was Your Man" for her Grammy-winning hit "Flowers". Tempo Music Investments has sued the singer, claiming that the two tracks have “many musical similarities”.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The investment platform, which allegedly owns a share of the copyright for the 2012 track, alleges that the harmony, chorus, melody, chord progressions and even lyrics were "intentionally" taken from Bruno's song.</p>

<p>Bruno, himself, is not a plaintiff in the copyright infringement case.</p>

<p>Earlier this year, Miley bagged her first Grammy award for her song "Flowers", which won record of the year. She also got a Grammy for best pop solo performance.</p>

<p>“Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular, so please don’t think that this is important," she added.</p>

<p>Back in June, Miley gave an interview to W Magazine and questioned why the Recording Academy took so long to recognise her contribution to the pop music industry. “No shade, but I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and this is my first time actually being taken seriously at the Grammys?” she said.</p>

That's when Alia makes an entry and introduces herself as "Alia Bhatt Kapoor", hinting that she has added Kapoor in her surname.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Alia and Ranbir tied the knot in April 2022. They welcomed their daughter Raha Kapoor in November that year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Actor-producer Sohum Shah's <em>Tumbbad&nbsp;</em>made a stellar return to theatres, earning a net box office collection of Rs 1.65 crore on the first day of its re-release, nearly three times its original opening six years ago.</p>

<p>Directed by Rahi Anil Barve and produced by the actor under his banner Sohum Shah Films, the atmospheric horror drama received critical acclaim when it released in theatres on October 12, 2018.</p>

<p>At the time, the film had earned Rs 65 lakh on the opening day and eventually ended its theatrical run with a net collection of over Rs 12 crore.</p>

<p>On popular demand, Shah re-released the movie in theatres across the country on Friday and fans didn't disappoint the actor-producer.</p>

<p>In an Instagram post, Sohum Shah Films said the movie earned ₹1.65 crore net at the box office.</p>

<p>According to the film's team, the day one collection of "Tumbbad" surpasses the re-release numbers of "classic films such as 'Sholay', 'Mughal-e-Azam', and 'Rockstar'".</p>

<p>"'Tumbbad' has been a special journey and a labour of love for us, and to see the love it continues to receive is overwhelming and only ratifies our belief and ethos of Sohum Shah Films that content is king," Shah told PTI.</p>

<p>Set in a Maharashtra village, “Tumbbad” explores Vinayak Rao's descent into greed and obsession as he seeks out a mythical treasure guarded by the malevolent entity Hastar.</p>

<p>The box office performance of "Tumbbad" on re-release has also surprised cinema exhibitors.</p>

<p>Kamal Gianchandani, CEO of PVR INOX Pictures Limited, said he is confident the film will have a "very long run" in its second innings.</p>

<p>"It’s a blockbuster in the re-release category. We are happy with the producers, and they did a fantastic job of positioning and timing the re-release well. We believe it will have a very long run at the box office.</p>

<p>"Many re-released films have done well like ‘Rockstar’, ‘Laila Majnu’, ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein’ but this one is on another level in terms of business. It’s been a cult hit, a lot of people have seen it on TV and streaming platforms... We had thought it would do well but the numbers have exceeded our expectations," Gianchandani told PTI.</p>

<p>Akshay Rathi, who owns theatres in central India, said the response to "Tumbbad" this time around has been "very encouraging".</p>

<p>"It is one of those movies that didn't get its due in true sense at the box office when it was released. Through its release on TV and streaming platforms, the movie found an audience that fell in love with it, and regretted the fact they couldn't experience it in cinema halls.</p>

<p>"To be able to experience it in theatres, they all are coming in encouraging numbers," he told PTI.</p>

<p>Among all the re-releases, the film could end up being the highest grossers, Rathi added.</p>

<p>"It's difficult to put a number to the film, but it has sold over 20,000 tickets in advance booking. Even in the limited release, the film will grow strength to strength. It might make ₹4 to 6 crore at the box office, anything is possible," he said.</p>

<p>On Saturday, Shah announced a sequel to "Tumbbad", a long-standing demand from the film's loyal fanbase.</p>

Tumbbad re-release: Film registers 'blockbuster' opening on first day

<p>Director Raaj Shaandilyaa says his upcoming film <em>Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video</em>, starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, has nothing to do with the Hollywood film <em>Sex Tape</em>. The filmmaker, best known for the <em>Dream Girl</em>&nbsp;franchise headlined by Ayushmann Khurrana, said he hasn’t even seen the 2014 film featuring Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz.</p>

<p>“<em>Vicky Vidya…</em>&nbsp;follows the titular married couple on a frantic search of a CD with a video of their wedding night, whereas <em>Sex Tape</em>&nbsp;revolves around a married couple who make a sex tape to spice up their relationship only to wake up the next morning to find that it has gone missing.</p>

<p>Shaandilyaa said he found out that there was a film called <em>Sex Tape</em>&nbsp;after the trailer launch of <em>Vicky Vidya…</em>, which is set in the 1990s.</p>

<p>“Someone asked me on Twitter, ‘Is this film like ‘Sex Tape’? I’m like, ‘There’s no sex in our film’. I was told by one of our writers that in that film their video goes viral on the Internet. The video in our film is made by the couple and they lose the CD because of their negligence.</p>

<p>“The characters and story are different. Our film has nothing to do with ‘Sex Tape’. I’ve not even seen ‘Sex Tape’. I didn’t get inspired by it, rather I got inspired by life and the people around me,” the director told PTI in an interview here.</p>

<p>He is already working on the sequel of <em>Vicky Vidya…</em>, which will be set around the early days of the Internet.</p>

<p>“Where this film ends, we’ve got a sequel, which will be set 10-15 years later, when the advent of the Internet has happened. We’ve written the story. We will shoot this film after I make another film,” he added.</p>

<p>The inspiration for <em>Vicky Vidya…</em>&nbsp;came from co-writer Yusuf Ali Khan, and the work on the screenplay began back in 2018, said Shaandilyaa.</p>

For instance, if someone in our country loves China, he would be like how can you write the dialogue in your film, ‘That China has attacked us 50 times’. It’s important to take comedy lightly, not seriously,” said Shaandilyaa, whose dialogue writing credits include films such as <em>Welcome Back</em>&nbsp;and <em>Jabariya Jodi</em>.</p>

<p>“In those days, men would sport long hair and that’s why the look of our actors in the film is that. It’s not because we were inspired by Sanjay Dutt or Amitabh Bachchan. The reason why we wanted to show the era of the ’90s is that at that time, CDs were the in-thing.” Shaandilyaa also revealed his plans for future projects, teasing collaborations with Khurrana, Rao, Kartik Aaryan, and Varun Dhawan.</p>

<p>On Saturday, August 31, Gomez shared on Instagram that she attended a local high school volleyball game after fans created a sign asking her to come. The bright orange note, pinned to a bulletin board, asked the "Single Soon" singer to sing the National Anthem at one of their home games. Decorated with hearts and accompanied by a coach's email, the note caught Gomez's attention.</p>

<p>"They asked!! Couldn’t help it, it’s my first time in Telluride!" Gomez captioned her post, which included a photo of the fan-made sign.</p>

<p>Though the post didn’t feature footage of Gomez singing, it did include a video of her walking into the school’s gym to the sound of excited fans calling her name. In the video, she is seen saying, "I saw the sign and so I had to come." Her surprise visit was met with applause by students and attendees.</p>

<p>Mark Chavez, 54, who will admit conspiracy to distribute ketamine as part of a plea deal reached with authorities, was released on $50,000 bond at a Los Angeles court.</p>

<p>Chavez is one of five people facing federal charges over the October 2023 tragedy in which Perry, a longtime addict, was found unresponsive in the pool at his luxury Los Angeles home.</p>

<p>Two others caught in the dragnet -- a live-in assistant and an acquaintance -- have already agreed to plead guilty to their charges.</p>

<p>Another doctor -- Salvador Plasencia -- allegedly bought ketamine off Chavez and sold it to the desperate star at hugely inflated prices, musing "I wonder how much this moron will pay."</p>

<p>Jasveen Sangha, the alleged "Ketamine Queen" who supplied drugs to high-end clients and celebrities, is charged with selling Perry the dose that killed him.</p>

<p>Both Plasencia and Sangha face one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine, as well as a raft of other charges, which they have denied.</p>

<p>Their trials have been set for October, and both face lengthy prison terms if found guilty.</p>
