<p>Shah, who made a mark in movies from the parallel cinema <em>Nishant</em>, <em>Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro</em>, and <em>Mirch Masala</em>&nbsp;as well as created a space for himself in commercial cinema with <em>Hero Hiralal</em>, <em>Vishwatma</em>&nbsp;and <em>Mohra</em>, said he admires directors Mrinal Sen, Basu Chatterjee, Satyajit Ray, Anurag Kashyap, and Vikramaditya Motwane.</p>

<p>"Films of Mrinal Sen, Basu Chatterjee, Mr. Ray were a novelty. A film like ‘Bhuvan Shome’, ‘Sara Aakash’, or ‘Ankur’ received a great deal of coverage but there weren’t that many people making those films."</p>

<p>"Today, there are people like Anubhav Sinha, Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, and there are successors to Basu Chatterjee, like Rajkumar Hirani. So, there are a group of madmen who are making the movies they believe in, but another wave is unlikely. Today, the situation in the industry is grim," the 74-year-old added.</p>

<p>Shah said his directorial <em>Man Woman Man Woman</em>”, a short film, is a small drop in the ocean. The movie stars his wife Ratna Pathak Shah, son Vivaan Shah, Saba Azad, and Tarun Dhanrajgir.</p>

<p>The 26-minute film, depicting love and companionship across two generations, was screened at the IFP.</p>

<p>Shah said people expect something dark and intense from him.</p>

<p>"So, this film came as a surprise to most people," he added.</p>

<p>"I don’t have to hanker for great roles, I’ve done my share of those. I’m happy doing cameo roles because they don’t require that much effort,” he said.</p>

<p>"I was growing up around wonderful actors... The workshops that would happen at home, dealing with different kinds of texts whether English, Hindi or Urdu. I feel they both are not offered their best roles, films are waiting to utilise them fully," he added.</p>

<p>Azad, who was previously dating Imaad Shah, said working with Ratna Pathak Shah – whom she referred to as ‘maa’ – was “easy” and “wonderful”.</p>

<p>Cuban reggaeton singer José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar aka El Taiger has died at the age of 37. He passed away on Thursday in Miami after getting shot in the head a week ago. His family confirmed the news in a statement shared on his official Instagram account.</p>

<p>The shooting happened on October 3 around 7 am. The police found El Taiger inside a black Mercedes SUV with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center where he was put on life support. Unfortunately, he passed away from his injuries.</p>

<p>In the official statement, the family said, “From the moment of his arrival, a team of physicians at Jackson Memorial worked tirelessly to provide him with the care he needed. We are extremely grateful. During this incredibly difficult time, family, friends and supporters joined together in prayer, hope and support, seeking a miracle. To all who offered their prayers, we thank you."</p>

<p>They added, “Sadly, this afternoon, El Taiger was pronounced dead and is now reunited with his beloved mother in heaven.”</p>

During the show, the 43-year-old stopped performing when he saw a sign in the audience that read, “May I propose to Sarah?”. Timberlake smiled and pointed at the man holding the sign.&nbsp;</p>

During interviews and stuff, I feel like my name isn't really mine, and it makes me feel like a third person. That pushes me to suddenly become like someone else. When I see myself on a billboard, I feel like it's not me that I'm looking at. The same thing happens when I watch one of my films. I watch them like an audience member and forget that it's actually me on screen."</p>

"I constantly need validation because I'm very hard on myself. Even when a director okays my shot, I'm never happy with it. I always feel like I could've done it better. El Taiger was quickly rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where he underwent surgery. He is currently on life support, according to CBS News Miami.</p>

<p>As of Friday morning, El Taiger remains in critical condition. A representative for the artist, Carlos Alfaro, told NBC 6 that the singer suffered severe brain damage.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Miami Police spokesperson Mike Vega said it’s still unclear if the wound was self-inflicted or if someone else shot him. Vega also mentioned that there was no sign that the shot was fired inside the car, suggesting the incident happened elsewhere before the vehicle was found. "Someone brought him here, left him, and left on foot," Vega said.</p>

<p>Bollywood actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was rushed to CRITICare Hospital early this morning after he accidentally shot himself in the leg. The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 AM on Tuesday when a misfire from his licensed revolver struck his knee while he was checking the weapon.</p>

<p>Sources close to the actor say Govinda was preparing to leave for Kolkata when the accident happened. He immediately sought medical attention and was taken to a nearby hospital in Mumbai for treatment, says Mumbai Police.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a statement shared by the actor himself, he thanked his fans, his parents and god for their blessings. He also revealed that he is doing better.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"This is Govinda. With the blessings of my fans, my parents and God, I am doing better now. I suffered a bullet injury, but I am feeling fine now. They have removed the bullet. I thank my doctor, Dr Aggarwal, and all my fans who prayed for my well-being. Thank you very much," said Govinda in his first official statement post injury.</p>

<p>His condition is believed to be stable. "The bullet has been removed from his leg," Govinda's manager Shashi Sinha told ANI.</p>

<p>The 27-year-old was sentenced to 18 months in prison after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter for accidentally loading Baldwin's prop gun with a live round.</p>

<p>Baldwin's own trial spectacularly collapsed in July when it emerged that prosecutors had not turned over a batch of bullets that detectives had found during their investigation into the October 2021 tragedy in New Mexico.</p>

<p>Gutierrez, also known as Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was already in the process of appealing her conviction prior to the Baldwin trial.</p>

<p>But her lawyers then filed an expedited motion for a new trial or dismissal of charges due to "severe and ongoing discovery violations by the state."</p>

<p>That application was dismissed in a written ruling issued Monday.</p>

'Rust' armorer loses bid for new trial

<p>Rajesh Kumar, best known for his role as Rosesh in popular sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, shocked fans when he left acting at the height of his career in 2017. After appearing in popular shows like Yam Kisi Se Kam Nahi, Neeli Chhatri Waale and Yeh Meri Family, Rajesh decided to step away from the spotlight to pursue farming. He was driven by the question, "What am I doing for the next generation?"</p>

<p>However, Rajesh soon realised that farming was much more difficult than he had anticipated. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, he spoke about starting a "family farmer" start-up and reaching out to his friends for support. While some showed interest, many ignored his efforts. As the business struggled, Rajesh had no option but to sell vegetables outside his son’s school.</p>

<p>With tears in his eyes, Rajesh shared, “After the start-up failed, I started to sell vegetables outside my son’s school. It made people think ‘He has gone mad. Why is he selling vegetables?’ It happened so that when my son saw me selling vegetables outside his school, he went to his teachers and said, ‘Would you please buy vegetables from my dad?’ He was in third grade at that time. Then all of his classmates went to different classrooms to inform them I was selling vegetables, and requested the teachers to buy it from me.”</p>

At this point, I thought of getting an app made to keep the transactions and orders in check, because it was getting all messed up over WhatsApp. But, after the app was created, the man who made it, betrayed me. Within three months of the app’s existence, I happened to lose a lot of money, eventually having to shut down my start-up altogether."</p>

<p>"I had to answer my friends and family, who invested in the business. I had to answer the farmers who were involved with me in the business. It all had become too overwhelming. At this point, I told myself, I will have to find a way. If not, I will die with a debt of around Rs 2 crore," recalled Rajesh.</p>

<p>After years of struggle, Rajesh made a return to acting with a small role in <em>Kota Factory 2</em>.</p>

<p>Michael Keaton again incarnates the creepily hilarious title character, in a cast including "Beetlejuice" veterans Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara, plus newcomers Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe.</p>

<p>The weekend's biggest loser may have been Francis Ford Coppola's "Megalopolis," which made its box office debut with a weak $4 million.</p>

<p>The film -- a wildly ambitious and divisive epic -- saw Coppola spend $120 million of his own money to make it, selling a stake in his California vineyard.</p>

<p>At third for this week was the animated action film "Transformers One," the latest installment in the franchise based on the 1980s toy line. It posted a take of $9.3 million this weekend.</p>

Animated flick 'The Wild Robot' tops North America box office

<p><strong>Dadasaheb Phalke Award:</strong> Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty has been named the recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the government's highest recognition in the field of cinema, on Monday. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the same on X.</p>

<p>The announcement comes months after Chakraborty was awarded Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honour, by the Government of India.</p>

<p>The award will be presented to Chakraborty at the 70th National Film Awards ceremony on October 8.</p>

<p>The three-member jury, comprising former Dadasaheb awardee Asha Parekh, actor-politician Khushbu Sundar and filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah, selected Chakraborty for the prestigious honour.</p>

<p>Chakraborty is very happy, said his son Namashi Chakraborty about the Dadasaheb Phalke Award announcement.</p>

<p>"We all are feeling very proud. He is in Kolkata, I just spoke to him. He is a self-made superstar and a great citizen. This was long, long overdue but I am so proud that he is finally being awarded with this honour," Namashi told PTI.</p>

<p>Chakraborty, whose real name is Gourang Chakraborty, is an alumnus of Pune's Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and he has predominantly worked in Hindi and Bengali cinema.</p>

<p>Chakraborty made his acting debut with Mrinal Sen's 1976 film <em>Mrigayaa</em>, for which he won the National Film Award for Best Actor. He also played pivotal roles in <em>Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki</em>&nbsp;and <em>Commando</em>.</p>
