Talking about her "toughest vocal performance", the singer added, "It was 'A Song for You' with Herbie Hancock because the arrangement was so intricate, so delicate and full of ad-libs. It was a lot to try and perfect that life."

When asked if she ever felt out of control, she added, "When I came into this business, there was a really big pop boom, and it was very specific what a label wanted a pop star to look like, to sound like. I wanted it so bad."

One of the lawsuits, which has been filed under the Violation of New York City Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, involves a now 37-year-old Jane Doe, who claims she was assaulted at a post-MTV VMAs party on September 7, 2000.&nbsp;

Represented by attorney Tony Buzbee, who has already brought six similar cases against Combs, the then 13-year-old girl claims that she felt "woozy and lightheaded" after consuming a single drink at the party.&nbsp;

“Looking for a place to rest, Plaintiff entered what she believed to be an empty bedroom, so she could lie down for a moment,” the lawsuit says.

“Soon after, Combs, along with a male and female celebrity, entered the room,” the lawsuit reads further. “Combs aggressively approached Plaintiff with a crazed look in his eyes, grabbed her, and said, ‘You are ready to party!'”

“Combs then threw Plaintiff toward another male celebrity, Celebrity A, who removed Plaintiff’s clothes as she grew more and more disoriented,” the suit states.

Combs attempted to force Plaintiff to perform oral sex on him, but she resisted by hitting Combs in the neck; he stopped.”

The victim says that she managed to flee from “the large white house with a gated U-shaped driveway” after the alleged assault. She later contacted her father who took her back home.

Attorney Buzbee claims to have over 100 more alleged victims of Combs who may soon come forward with additional lawsuits.

The disgraced music mogul was arrested at a Manhattan hotel on September 17. He was recently charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and other crimes. However, he has pleaded not guilty to the charges. 
 
He explained that he had spoken out about Combs' questionable behaviour during his concerts and even on social media. “Look, it seems like I’m doing some extremely outrageous things, but I haven’t. It’s really me just saying what I’ve been saying for 10 years,” he said. 
 
The rapper added that while Combs’ legal troubles are now in the spotlight, his own perspective remains the same. “Now it’s becoming more full-facing in the news with the Puffy stuff, but away from that I’m like, ‘Yo it’s just my perspective because I stayed away from that stuff the entire time because this is not my style.’”

Bollywood star Varun Dhawan says he feels good about his maiden OTT series, Citadel: Honey Bunny, the India-set companion piece to the globetrotting spy franchise Citadel, and believes the show will push the boundaries of Indian cinema.

Directed by filmmaker duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, the series is part of the expansive global spy universe that began with the mothership show starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden.

Honey Bunny&nbsp;is the third instalment in the franchise, following Citadel&nbsp;and the recently released Italian chapter Citadel: Diana, starring Matilda de Angelis.

“For Honey Bunny, we’ve put in a lot of work, from getting it done to executing it and seeing it come to fruition. It’s amazing. I’m already happy with it because of the quality and the way it looks.

“Eventually, it is up to the audience. Everyone has put their best foot forward. I’m hoping this will push Indian cinema forward. I know this is going to do well, and I’m feeling good about this,” Varun told PTI in an interview.

The Prime Video series, also starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is billed as a riveting narrative that fuses elements of a gritty spy action thriller with the heartwarming allure of a love story.

“When stuntman Bunny (Dhawan) recruits struggling actress Honey (Prabhu) for a side gig, they are hurled into a high-stakes world of action, espionage, and betrayal. Dhawan revealed that he received many offers for his series debut but was instantly drawn to the idea of Citadel: Honey Bunny.

“There have been a lot of offers from OTT platforms, some even in the action space. For this, if I had wished for something else, then that would’ve happened as well, like The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) being in it. It was just that everything was happening one after the other on this show,” he said.

The actor also said that when he heard the narration of the show, Prabhu’s name immediately came to his mind for the female lead.

“When we spoke about this, the first person who came to my mind was Samantha, without them even saying. I thought, ‘If Sam does it, it will become huge, and we will bounce off each other very well.’ We’ve got a unique kind of chemistry. I think that’s the only thing Raj &amp; DK were listening to, nothing else.”

Besides Citadel: Honey Bunny, Dhawan is equally excited about his upcoming releases: Baby John, an action drama backed by Jawan&nbsp;director Atlee; Karan Johar’s home production Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari; and the family entertainer Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, with his filmmaker-father David Dhawan.

The actor believes there’s a dearth of well-made comedy films in Bollywood, adding that even though critics may pan such films as “not logical”, audiences enjoy watching them.

“We’ve made good comedies, and they have been successful too. If a comedy is generally good and makes you laugh, then it becomes critic-proof because there is word-of-mouth, and people are laughing in theatres. It doesn’t matter what people say about it not being logical. As long as people are entertained in theatres, that word of mouth spreads.

“Many comedies, sometimes, which have gone on to become cult classics, like Andaz Apna Apna, were poorly reviewed and considered flops. We are making fewer comedies; we should make more because they uplift society, and laughter, in general, is the best medicine,” he said.

Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor says the credit for the resounding success of her latest movie Stree 2&nbsp;belongs to its "fabulous team" that crafted a sequel true to the spirit of the original. The Amar Kaushik-directed horror comedy, a sequel to the 2019 film Stree, has emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time at the domestic box office, with a collection of over Rs 600 crore.

At an event on Friday evening, where the iconic magazine Screen was relaunched, Kapoor called the film a “pure cinematic joy” and praised the collaborative effort of the crew and her co-stars Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana.

"We have brilliant actors in the film. We have some really entertaining dialogues. So, it has been a fabulous team effort and pure cinematic joy. I'm really proud to be a part of this film," Kapoor said.

For Kapoor, it all began with Stree, set in the small town of Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, where an evil spirit named ‘Stree’ abducts men during the festival season. The story was based on the urban legend of "Nale Ba," which went viral in Karnataka in the 1990s.

"It was about six years ago, and Maddock Films was just up and coming as a production house. All the actors were at very different stages in our careers. We were also growing in our own ways," she said.

"My personal reaction when I heard the first part was that I felt like I hadn't heard a film like that before. It was based on an urban legend, and I was literally falling off the sofa when I heard it. I was so glad that they came to me for this film, which is pure entertainment. I was genuinely laughing at the dialogues and the scenes," she added.

Kapoor, 37, said the movie and her character received immense love from audiences.

"My character is this mysterious girl who comes and goes, and you're constantly wondering about her presence. So, it all began there. And hats off to our producer, our writers, and my director for really cracking the sequel because it's important to not make a sequel for the sake of it.

"You really have to have some substance if you're going to bring people to the theatre and garner genuine appreciation. I feel they stayed true to how a sequel should be made. They did a super job by cracking the story of Stree 2, getting all the entertainment factors into the film," she said.

Kapoor, known for movies such as Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain, Chhichhore, and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, also opened up about her approach to selecting films.

"I believe that my best is yet to come, and I definitely want to feel, when I am going to be a part of a film, that it is going to be something exciting for me as an actor... to be a part of a particular story that is really riveting, that may have a message subliminally passed on to the audience. I am in that headspace right now," she said.

The actor also said her pace of work has changed.

"There was a time when I was doing a lot of films back to back, and now it's the opposite. It's like one film in three years... And it's fine. I found my comfort in that now because I feel like I want to be a part of films where I feel truly fulfilled and can push myself as an actor while doing something different from what I've done before," she added.

Kapoor also noted that it's not necessary to have a constant stream of film releases.

"My next film hasn't even been announced, and it's okay. It takes a lot for you and for anybody to be a part of a film. It takes months. It takes a lot of work and a lot of prep. I feel that from the bottom of my heart," she said.

Yoik is not unlike the sargam in Hindustani classical music, or the konnakol in Carnatic music, where a string of sounds makes a melody each time they are put together. For the indigenous Sami people in the northern regions of Norway, Finland, Sweden, and Russia, Yoik is a way of life.

Eira, who is also the lead or the ‘Yoik master’ of the band, said the unique singing tradition is devoid of words but is full of emotions.

“A yoik is a melody without lyrics, first and foremost. There are only sounds such as slo, la, lye, and so on, and the melody is supposed to describe or depict something or someone,” Eira told PTI.

Traditionally performed without instruments, a Yoik (also spelled Joik or Jojk) is often “given to a person”.

“And then the yoik is describing or painting a picture of that person. So we say about Yoik that it is not about a person, it is a person’s yoik,” he said.

The six-member band, led by Eira, performed yoik’s of his grandfather, his great grandfather, his mother, and his sister’s daughter’s daughter to the accompaniment of guitar, banjo, drums, trumpet, and bass.

Gabba, meaning “ivory-coated reindeer”, won the Spellemannprisen award in 2022 that is equivalent to a Norwegian Grammy for weaving traditional and modern yoik singing style into a vibrant musical tapestry influenced by Norwegian folk, Americana, and world music.

Eira, who was born without vision in his eyes, started “yoiking” at the age of two – “before I could speak, I could yoik” – and would catch on the yoiks by his family members.

“There was no one in particular who taught me. I used to listen to my family members, my uncle’s and aunts, and my father, they were yoikers and I just picked up the melody and started to yoik them and experiment with them,” he said.

However, the art of yoiking goes beyond stringing together words with a melody, as each yoik is different from the other, and the learning process for Eira involved long hours visiting old archives.

“When I got older I also visited many archives, Sami archives and found many old yoik recordings. So it’s a lot of researching with a learning process. You have to find those recordings and listen to them over and over again,” Eira added.

Growing up in a world that was different from the people around him, Eira found company in listening to and creating music and the belief that “there’s not much difference between being blind and being able to see”.

“So in a simple way, you could say that I don’t really know what I am missing out on. But from an early age, I was interested in other stuff that the kids of the same age didn’t do. Like I was really into music, reggae, and all kinds of music that the rest of the kids didn’t listen to.

“So I realised that there was something going on, but other than that, I don’t think it’s that much different being blind and being able to see. It’s more like how you choose to cope with that, cope with the world,” he said.

On his debut visit to India, Eira found Yoik’s resemblance in some Indian traditional music forms.

“I don’t know what the vocal styles are called, but there are some vocal styles&nbsp;especially that are reminiscent of yoik, and there are also some indigenous groups from India who have their traditional music styles that are really reminiscent of yoik,” the 32-year-old said.

Apart from Eira as the yoik master, the band includes Idar Eliassen Pedersen on trumpet, Christoffer Mietle Furuheim on guitar, Ola Brandsnes Vårtun on banjo, Espen Bakke on bass and Marius Troan Hansen on drums.

"With the audience potentially being ahead of the character, I wanted to lean into that and see if I could use that against the audience and invite them in."

"The thing about The Lion King is it appeals to every age group," said actor George Asprey."It's not a recreation of the film in any sense. It's a standalone piece of art."

Asprey plays evil Scar, who goes up against his brother and Simba's father - Mufasa, played by Shaun Escoffery.

Both men have starred in the show for 16 years, an experience Escoffery describes as "wonderful."

"The gratitude just starts to overwhelm you. I work with a wonderful team....and just the production itself is amazing," he said.

Spin-off film Mufasa: The Lion King&nbsp;is due to be released in December. The movie is billed as both a prequel and sequel to the original film.

Vilen began his journey with "Ek Raat", a song aimed at helping people who were mentally struggling. Rich in philosophy and life lessons, the project was a labour of love, taking about one and a half years to complete despite his lack of experience in music and filmmaking.

Beyond his music, Vilen is known for his profound motivational speeches and podcasts, which reflect his artistic philosophy. He believes that art should be a medium for personal reflection and emotional expression.

Vilen is currently working on an EP titled GoodGober, which showcases his versatility by blending different genres and languages, including Hindi, Punjabi, and Haryanvi. This EP marks a shift from his previous work, with each song offering a unique perspective on life.

What do you enjoy more? Making music or performing live?

Vilen:&nbsp;Both things, since one cannot exist without the other. Personally, I love making art more than performing live because I consider myself more of a storyteller than a performer or singer. So I have always enjoyed making art more than performing it live. At the same time, I really enjoy performing for my fans because they're super fun.

What's the story behind your stage name Vilen?

Vilen:&nbsp;I never wanted people to think of me as a saint and even in my music, I always talk about my shortcomings. I believe we constantly work on ourselves and try to be better. I feel we should always be conscious of our negative traits and keep them close to ourselves so that we can eventually improve them. In a nutshell, it keeps me grounded. I had the name Vilen in my mind always and there are probably 10 reasons why I chose it.&nbsp;

Who are some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they shaped your sound?

Vilen:&nbsp;I don't really have a musical influence since I am not a music enthusiast. I listen to everything and anything. But when it comes to storytelling, it is mostly derived from my personal experiences. Even with "Ek Raat", I added all the elements that I liked and it was a mix of rock, hip-hop and several other genres. So, I just make what I feel like making and it's a mix of a lot of things.

Many of your songs touch on themes like heartbreak, loneliness, and introspection. How do you stay grounded while working with such intense emotions?

Vilen:&nbsp;Even before I started making music, I used to help a lot of people. I used to give therapy to people and help them overcome their emotional state. And sometimes, it gives you a superiority complex that you are helping others and that it makes you better than the rest. But no, that's not true. And whenever I had those feelings back in the days, I used to stumble and face hardships. But now, I have a better understanding of things. Now whenever I help others, I feel like it's more of a duty and it makes me happy.&nbsp;

What has been your most memorable performance or live show so far?

Vilen:&nbsp;My first show was definitely the most memorable one. Because I had never aspired to become a famous person or a singer. So it was all very alien to me.

Are there any collaborations or future projects you're particularly excited about?

Vilen:&nbsp;Currently, I have several projects lined up for release. I am collaborating with Kanika Kapoor, Himani Kapoor, Qaran and even Ravator. Then there's a song with Indian bassist Rahul Ram and we are planning a session.&nbsp;

For her special day, Leyva wore a stunning dress with a lace v-neck top and a long silk skirt with a train. Actor Bujou Thaangjam, known for his roles in Mary Kom&nbsp;and Shivaay, has accused the casting team behind the Alia Bhatt-starrer Jigra&nbsp;of unprofessional behaviour.

According to the actor, who has been credited for character roles in many Hindi films, he was asked to be available in December to shoot for the movie but never received a follow-up call.

The actor, in a post on X, said he didn’t want to stir up controversy but thought it was time to speak up.

"Back in 2023, I was approached by their casting team to audition for a role. I sent my tapes twice over the span of four months, playing along with their timeline. By the end of November, they told me I’d be shooting in December — fantastic, right? Except they never gave me any firm shoot dates."

"Still, they booked me for the entire month of December, expecting that I’d be ready to shoot for them at any moment. As someone based in Imphal, Manipur, I made it very clear from the start that travel arrangements would need to be made, but that didn’t seem to matter," Thaangjam recalled.

The actor said he was kept in the dark throughout the month except for a brief message that they were waiting for a “revert”.

“Meanwhile, I’d lost out on other projects because I was sitting around, waiting for them to give me the go-ahead. But, of course, that never came,” the actor said.

As an actor from Northeast, Thaangjam said the experience felt “particularly dismissive, almost discriminatory”.

“My time was wasted and I missed out on other opportunities just because they expected I'd be available at a moment's notice," he wrote.

Jigra has faced a number of controversies, including the negativity surrounding Bhatt’s casting in the movie and actor Divya Khosla Kumar’s comments that the film, a jailbreak drama, resembled the plot line of her last film Savi.

Except they never gave me any firm shoot dates." "Still, they booked me for the entire month of December, expecting that I’d be ready to shoot for them at any moment. As someone based in Imphal, Manipur, I made it very clear from the start that travel arrangements would need to be made, but that didn’t seem to matter," Thaangjam recalled. British actress Miranda Hart recently opened up about&nbsp;being bedbound for years after Lyme disease led to myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME). In an interview published by The Times on Monday (October 14), the 51-year-old actress shared her emotional journey of illness, recovery and resilience.

Hart explained that her health began to decline when she was 15, but things took a sharp turn after she wrapped the final season of her show in 2015. She experienced a “total collapse” and was left housebound and bedbound due to the severity of her condition.

“I was housebound and bedbound for years,” Hart said. “I didn’t have a job, I didn’t have a social life. I didn’t have any responsibilities or identities." She shared her frustration of living a “half-life” without knowing why her health had deteriorated so much.
