<p>Questioning the Supreme Court's order to release Pakistan's former prime minister Imran Khan, the minister stated, “Why are there two yardsticks in this country? The court should have taken suo motu on the army installations but it wasn't taken. Nawaz Sharif, Zardari, Maryam, me, none of us&nbsp;got any facilities. Here the top court has given him (Imran) all the facilities.”</p>

<p>On May 9, Khan was arrested, after which massive protests erupted in the country and even abroad. The lawyers representing Khan had challenged the legality of his arrest.</p>

<p>The court also directed Khan to approach Islamabad High Court. Khan was arrested in connection with the Al Qadir Trust case.</p>

<p>The case is related to Al Qadir University. The trust was created to support the university. Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi and other PTI leaders have been facing accusations of wrongdoing concerning the trust.</p>

<p>"It has been an extremely challenging day for firefighters here," said Christie Tucker, an information unit manager for Alberta Wildfire. "We were battling very strong winds, hot weather and those winds produced extreme wildfire activity."</p>

<p>She added that additional firefighters had arrived today from Quebec and Ontario.</p>

<p>"Much of Alberta has been experiencing a hot, dry spring and with so much kindling, all it takes is a few sparks to ignite some truly frightening wildfires," said Smith at a press conference earlier in the day. "These conditions have resulted in the unprecedented situation our province is facing today."</p>

<p>"I don't know that I ever recall seeing multiple communities evacuated all at once in fire season," said Smith.</p>

<p>She said $1.12 billion (C$1.5 billion) is put aside as a contingency because they know a significant amount could need to be spent on emergency management,</p>

<p>Whitecap Resources, an oil producer operating in northwestern and central Alberta, said it has been busy ensuring staff are safe through the evacuation process and assets are unaffected.</p>

<p>"(We are) monitoring closely and praying for rain," Grant Fagerheim, Whitecap CEO, said on Saturday.</p>

<p>"It is very unusual for us to see this much fire activity this early in the season," said Tucker earlier on Saturday.</p>

<p>Tens of millions of Britons on Sunday received a message and loud alarm as the government tested its&nbsp;first-ever life-saving Emergency Alerts warning system. <p>The directive reportedly shows a spike in the number of people trying to go past the “Great Firewall” that allows the government to monitor all online activity. According to the translation provided by the China Digital Times, the directive speaks about the concerns of the government at present and initiates the “Level I Internet Emergency Response, the highest level of content management”.</p>

<p>It adds that the authorities are looking to take a “hands-on approach” when it comes to content management and the main objective will be to quickly find and identify mentions of what they referred to as “offline disturbances” and “recent high-profile events in various provinces”.</p>

<p>“The incident on November 24 triggered expressions of various grievances,” it said.</p>
