As a mark of respect for Queen Elizabeth's passing away, France's Eiffel Tower's light was shut off. French President Emmanuel Macron took to Twitter and wrote that he will remember Queen Elizabeth as a 'kind-hearted queen who left a lasting impression on her country.' Meanwhile, Rio De Janeiro's iconic statue Christ the Redeemer was also lit up in tribute to the Queen.

The famous Paris landmark and the symbol of love the Eiffel tower is crumbling and the only solution to stop its decay is a full renovation.
The Eiffel Tower, one of the most popular destinations in the world, welcoming nearly six million people every year for visit is now covered in rust and needs extensive repairs, but instead of doing so, it will receive a 60-million-euro paint job before the 2024 Olympic Games, a confidential data reported by Marianne, a French magazine. The wrought-iron, 324 meter (1,063 foot) tall tower was constructed by Gustave Eiffel in the late 19TH century. A manager in conversation with Marianne said, “It is simple, if Gustave Eiffel visited the place he would have a heart attack.”

However, the confidential report that Marianne refereed clearly states that the monument is in very poor state and covered in rust.

The wrought-iron, 324 meter (1,063 foot) tall tower was constructed by Gustave Eiffel in the late 19TH century. A manager in conversation with Marianne said, “It is simple, if Gustave Eiffel visited the place he would have a heart attack.” However, the confidential report that Marianne refereed clearly states that the monument is in very poor state and covered in rust.
All end-of-the-world thrillseekers have a reason to rejoice as a huge asteroid is due to break into Earth's orbit. The asteroid isn't too small. It's bigger than Eiffel Tower.

It measures about 1082 foot. NASA has its eye on Asteroid 4660 Nereus. This asteroid is a frequent visitor to Earth's neighbourhood as orbit comes pretty close to that of Earth. So much so that the asteroid has been placed in 'potentially hazardous' category.

The asteroid was spotted by astronomer Eleanor Helin in 1982.

This time, the closest approach is slated to take place on December 10. Although Asteroid Nereus has been classified as 'potentially hazardous', it's a relief that it will shoot past Earth and there is no threat of collision with Earth.

Eiffel Tower reopens after nine-month Covid closure

For the first time of its history the Eiffel Tower has been illuminated Tuesday using electricity produced from certified renewable hydrogen. It's been provided by zero-emission electro-hydrogen generators made by EODev, a fledgling company that resulted from research and development work carried out aboard the boat Energy Observer.

EU member states reached a deal paving the way for a Covid-19 certificate to open up travel in Europe, just as the operators of the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris announced a July reopening.

"This is an important step towards restarting EU free movement as safely as possible, while providing clarity and certainty for our citizens," said EU health commissioner Stella Kyriakides.

Visitor numbers will be limited to 10,000 a day to meet social distancing requirements, fewer than half of their pre-Covid levels, operator Sete said.
