On Saturday, Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said that despite a rise in infections, primarily of intestinal and upper respiratory track, no serious threat to public health has been found.

"Our priority now is to fight against the conditions that can threaten public health and to prevent infectious diseases," Koca told a news conference in southern Hatay province.

California flash floods: Death toll reaches 14, road-bridge collapses in river

During the course of the last five days, 98 people have died in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, owing to heart and brain strokes. According to the statistics given by the L.P.S Institute of Cardiology, 44 of the 98 fatalities occurred in hospitals, while 54 people passed away even before receiving the treatment.

Data from Kanpur's Laxmipat Singhania Institute of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery reveals that 723 cardiac patients visited the hospital's emergency and outpatient departments in the last week, as per Deccan Herald.

After a new count, the death toll jumped to 602 in one of the deadliest earthquakes that hit Java, Indonesia last month, said a local administration official on Friday after unreported casualties were verified by the authorities across the town.

On November 21 Cianjur, the most populous province of West Java was hit by a 5.6-magnitude earthquake which triggered landslides and collapsed buildings, killing many.&nbsp;

Spokesperson of Cianjur local administration Adam said that the new death toll of 602, which has increased from the earlier toll of 334, was finalised on the basis of data collected from the town's residents.

He added that a lot of relatives had rushed to bury their people without reporting their the authorities about their death.

"If someone dies, residents in Cianjur often immediately bury them. Because of the panicked situation, those who died were immediately buried by relatives without notifying the local health agency," Adam said.&nbsp;

"It was later revealed that around 600 people died when it is officially counted," he stated, citing the new figure of 602 finalised by the administration.

The new death toll was posted by BPBD, a local rescue agency on social media.&nbsp;

The village of Kusiong accounted for many of the 50 deaths in the area around Datu Odin Sinsuat town, after heavy overnight rain unleashed floods mixed with mud, rocks and fallen trees that buried the community, the area's civil defence office said in a statement.

Similar avalanches also struck villages in the nearby towns of Datu Blah Sinsuat and Upi, which accounted for 17 more deaths. 
Eleven people remain missing and 31 were injured, according to official figures.

Tropical Storm Nalgae caused heavy rains which in turn led to flash floods that swamped nine mostly rural towns around Cotabato. It is a city of 300,000 people on Mindanao island. &nbsp;

Naguib Sinarimbo, the spokesman and civil defence chief for the regional government, tol AFP that many residents were caught by surprise as floodwaters rose rapidly before dawn. Sinamaribo said that Teams in rubber boats rescued residents.

In recent years, flash floods with mud and debris from largely deforested mountainsides have been among the deadliest hazards posed by typhoons in Philippine communities.

Mindanao is rarely hit by the 20 or so typhoons that strike the Philippines each year and kill hundreds of people. Those that do, however, tend to be deadlier than those that hit the country's main island of Luzon.

Johnson said that though the way of killing the babies was different, the person was the constant presence in the room. He alleged that Letby tried killing the same baby thrice.&nbsp;

The trial could continue for six months. &nbsp;

Pakistan struggles to deal with devastating floods, death toll exceeds 1,300

After clashes broke out on Saturday in Libya's capital between militias backed by the country's two rival administrations, the death toll rose to 32, with 159 injured, portending a return to violence amid a long political stalemate.

The escalation threatens to destabilise Libya's relative calm over the last two years. Following a NATO-backed uprising that toppled and killed longtime autocrat Moammar Gadhafi in 2011, the oil-rich country descended into chaos.

Mustafa Baraka, a comedian known for his social media videos mocking militias and corruption, was among those killed. According to Malek Merset, an emergency services spokesman, Baraka died after being shot in the chest.

According to the Health Ministry, hospitals and medical centers in the capital were shelled, and ambulance teams were barred from evacuating civilians, committing "war crimes."

The Tripoli municipal council blamed the capital's deteriorating situation on the ruling political class and urged the international community to "protect civilians in Libya."

Residents of Tripoli were terrified as a result of the violence. Footage circulated online of houses, government facilities, and vehicles that appeared to have been damaged by the fighting. In other footage, militia forces were seen deploying, and heavy fire was exchanged across the night sky.

The mission demanded an immediate cease-fire and that all Libyan parties "refrain from using any form of hate speech or incitement to violence."

At least another 18 died during floods in the southeastern state of Sao Paulo later in January, while torrential downpours in Rio de Janeiro state killed over 230 the following month.

The attack on the police bus, was carried out by little known outfit, Kashmir Tigers, which is believed to be the front of Jaish-e-Mohammad, at Zewan on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday. &nbsp;

In the attack, assistant sub inspector Ghulam Hassan and constable Shafeeq Ali were killed. Around 12 others, including Rameez, had got hurt. &nbsp;

The active caseload stands at 1,59, 272, which is the lowest in the last 247 days.

The daily positivity rate stands at 1.13 per cent, which has also remained below 2 per cent for last 27 days and less than 3 per cent for 62 consecutive days now.
