The meeting will now be attended by Amitabh Chaudhary who is the acting secretary of the cricket board, sources told news agency ANI. The ICC meeting will take place from October 16 to October 19th.

A woman had alleged that Johri had sexually harassed her when she was her colleague in a TV channel. "Rahul Johari (sic), your #timesup," the woman had accused him on Twitter.

The BCCI had asked Johri for an explanation after the allegations were revealed by the unknown woman.

The Committee of Administrators(CoA) had decided not to allow Johri to attend the Singapore meeting, ANI reported.

Indian bowlers took three early wickets on the first day of the second and final Test against the West Indies in a fun-filled morning session.

Things arguably turned even more fun when an overenthusiastic fan breached security at the Hyderabad cricket ground to plant a kiss on&nbsp;Indian captain Virat Kohli's cheek and take a selfie with him.

The fan managed to get the selfie. He did not get the kiss — security managed to stop him (and Virat pulled back) before he could plant a kiss on Virat's cheek.

Virat looked very upset while security personnel overpowered the youngster and hauled him off the field.

The crowd in the meantime roared and clapped.&nbsp;

The ICC's move to launch the women's T20I rankings follows its decision earlier this year to award international status to all T20 matches between member countries.&nbsp;

Whilst Scotland are the top-ranked associate member in 11th and Thailand take 12th place in the first table, following some good performances of late including a win over Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup earlier this year.&nbsp;

The system moves away from the combined rankings in place earlier and there is now a separate ICC Women's ODI Team Rankings table with 10 teams, in line with the men's rankings, which are separate for each format.&nbsp;

Australia, who were top-ranked in the combined rankings system, are now ranked number one in both forms of the game and lead Trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand by three points in the T20I rankings table.&nbsp;

Australia are on 280 points, New Zealand on 277 while England are just a further one point behind with 276 points.&nbsp;

Australia, will however, have to win their upcoming three-match T20I series from October 25 to 29 against Pakistan in Malaysia by a 3-0 margin to retain their top spot.&nbsp;

Pakistan will be unable to overtake sixth-ranked South Africa even if they were to pull off a shock 3-0 win.&nbsp;

The West Indies, who will defend their ICC Women's World T20 title at home from November 9 to 24, are ranked fourth with 259 points and India are a further 10 points behind in fifth place.&nbsp;

The next five teams on the table -- South Africa, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Ireland -- complete the lineup for the West Indies event.

The list includes nine sides from Europe, 14 from Asia, 13 from Africa, four each from East Asia Pacific and the Americas, apart from Australia and the West Indies.&nbsp;

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur welcomed the move.&nbsp;

"I'm sure these rankings will encourage more countries to play the game regularly and teams will get a good idea of where they stand in the global context. Players always take interest in the ICC rankings as they are a true reflection of where teams and players stand," she said.

"There was a CIC hearing on July 10 when it was asked as to why BCCI shouldn't come under the RTI? The BCCI didn't even file a reply and sat on the show-cause notice.

Now the only way is to challenge the order in High Court and take it from there on," the official said.&nbsp;

Another BCCI official said the COA, comprising Vinod Rai and Diana Edulji, might just "tie the albatross of RTI" around the Board's neck before announcing elections.

"We hear that BCCI wants to partially come under the RTI and not reveal things like team selection and all? Is it a joke? If BCCI challenges, there won't be any half measures. It will be all or nothing," he said.&nbsp;

He then went on to give a few sample questions that will be asked first up if the BCCI comes under the RTI.

"It could be about team selection processes and whether IPL franchises are having a role in it. The shareholding patterns, the investments made," he said.

"The second question will be about personal conduct of certain officials and issues like harassment of women at workplace," he added.

"The third question will be even more telling. Is there a case that a junior cricketer in the Indian team is getting a long rope because of his tie-up with certain management firm of a senior player that has landed them multi-crore endorsement with a particular sports brand??"

The official said: "I am not sure if the COA is ready to answer these tough questions. More so it is the office-bearers who should be given powers to take legal recourse. It is unfortunate that honourable Supreme Court's orders are being misused by COA."

When pointed out that even the Law Commission has recommended bringing the BCCI under the RTI, he explained: "Law Commission's recommendation is not binding.

Secondly, the premise of their recommendations is based on certain conjectures which are debatable."

Rai, on his part, said the COA is committed to ensuring transparency in the Board but steered clear of any direct comment on the CIC order.&nbsp;

"In continuance of the CIC order, we would like to convey that we wholeheartedly support transparency and have created a robust platform in the form of the website.

Through this medium, we have been putting our processes and decisions out in public domain," he said in a statement.

"Our website is becoming more vibrant with increased emphasis on openness and accountability. The COA is committed to probity and openness in the BCCI and have introduced good governance with professional administration.&nbsp;

"Lastly, I am passionate and totally dedicated to set up an edifice of good governance which will be premised on probity, transparency and ethical standards," he added.&nbsp;

Opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has been dropped from India's Test squad for the upcoming West Indies series, the country's cricket board announced Saturday.

Dhawan had a forgettable England tour with the left-handed opener managing just 162 runs in eight innings as top-ranked India lost the Test series 1-4.

Uncapped batsman Mayank Agarwal and rookie fast bowler Mohammed Siraj were included in the 15-man team that will be led by Virat Kohli, who was rested in the recent Asia Cup 50-over tournament won by India.

The national selectors decided to rest fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar due to their "recent workload", the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement.

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen on Tuesday became the first overseas cricketer to deliver the MAK Pataudi Memorial Lecture at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) awards event here.

In the lecture, which has been previously addressed by the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid and Farukh Engineer, Pietersen expressed his delight on being chosen to deliver the speech, making him the first non-Indian to do so.

Talking to the Afghanistan players attending the awards ahead of their maiden Test match against India, he said, "There are many others infinitely better qualified to describe the social, political and cultural impact of that sporting leap. But I know what it means as a sportsman."&nbsp

"Because, in my humble opinion a hard fought five-day test match remains the greatest all-round challenge in modern day sport."

"A challenge as mentally demanding as it is physical. A challenge demanding the very highest levels of concentration of technique, of determination, of stamina, all, for the batsman at least, with no second chances," he added.

"Don`t restrict yourself to a form of cricket that, however brilliant, doesn`t require mastery of every skill. Only Test cricket can do that. Ask Jos Buttler who scored so prolifically here at the IPL before his recall to the English test team whether he valued any of those stunning 20-20 knocks for Rajasthan&nbspas highly as the man of the match in the second test match vs Pakistan last month at Headingly," Pietersen said.

He is not a part of the historic one-off Test match against Afghanistan but India captain Virat Kohli was the star attraction at the BCCI Annual Awards function today as he received the prestigious Polly Umrigar Trophy (Cricketer of the Year) award for two consecutive seasons.

The Indian skipper, who has been in prolific form, received the award for his stupendous performance during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation for a neck injury sustained during the IPL, which ruled him out of his much debated County assignment for Surrey.

The annual Forbes list of highest-paid athletes reveals that for the first since its inception no female sports stars have made their cut in the list. Last year, Serena Williams, who was the only female athlete to make the 2017 list, fell out of the top 100 for 2018 after missing much of the year to give birth to her first child, Alexis.

Forbes' earnings figures include all prize money, salaries and bonuses earned between June 1, 2017, and June 1, 2018. Endorsement incomes for the same period are then added on.

It is a very sad truth that women-oriented sports does not attract the sponsors and advertisers. Women sports person don't earn as much as their male counterparts.

There is no evidence that boys are more athletically-inclined than girls. It's about the perception and mindset of common people that has led to a reduction in girls overall interest in sports.

There are other factors also, like lack of opportunity and encouragement and majorly disparity in income between men and women athletes. The disparity in the wage rate is one of the reasons for this "testosterone-heavy" Forbes list of highest paid athletes.&nbsp;

Serena's exit from the list is also throwing light on the female athletes who fail to return to their game after giving birth.

Here are some incidents that will throw lights on gender discrimination in sports:

1- Recently, prize money disparity between men and women cricketers was at the display when player Mithali Raj got $250 as a prize money for being the player of the match at the Women’s Asia Cup T20.

2- The lastest payscale of BCCI, in which the wages parity is beyond comparison. Grade C men players to receive INR 1 cr each and grade C women players to receive INR 10 lacs each.

3- When it comes to sports, income disparity is not limited to the Indian context, a few months back, 59-time Grand Slam champion Martina Navratilova revealed that she was paid at least 10-times less than her fellow Wimbledon pundit John McEnroe by BBC for their broadcasting roles at Wimbledon.

She accused the British broadcaster when they published the salaries of their highest-paid stars last July, in brackets of £50,000.

After analysing the salary brackets, she realised that her fellow presenter McEnroe's pay packet was between £150,000 and £199,999 which was comparatively more than her.

Not only that women athletes have been facing other issues which are far more consequential than income disparity, for example, the recent case when US gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar was charged with sexual abuse of some elite female gymnasts. He assaulted victims during treatment for injuries.

In today's scenario, it is important to end this anti-women culture in sports because sports&nbsp;can act as a catalyst to amplify women's voices against gender barriers and discrimination.

Saha has been India's regular gloveman since the retirement of former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in December 2014.&nbsp

He has played 32 tests and averages above 30 with the bat.

Apart from an 82.66 Cr fine on the BCCI, and an 11.53 Cr fine on Srinivasan, penalties have also been imposed upon the former chairman of Indian Premier League, Lalit Modi (10.65 Cr), former BCCI treasurer MP Pandove (9.72 Cr) and the State Bank of Travancore (7 Cr).

The penalties amount to a total of 121.66 Cr.

On July 20, 2011, the ED had issued show cause notices to Modi and the BCCI under provisions of FEMA regarding the alleged transfer of a sum of Rs 243.45 crores to Cricket South Africa without prior permission of the RBI, ahead of an IPL tournament in 2009.

The ED was subsequently allowed by the Bombay High Court to summon several former BCCI officials, including Manohar and then secretary N Srinivasan as witnesses in the matter.

In March this year, former IPL Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sundar Raman and former IPL commissioner Chirayu Amin had appeared before the Special Director of the ED in Mumbai for cross-examination by Modi`s lawyers in the case.

IPL 2009: ED slaps 121 Cr fine on BCCI, Lalit Modi & others for FEMA violations

The BCCI has decided to reward the three national selectors with increased remuneration besides doubling the fees of umpires, scorers and video analysts.

The decision was taken by the Cricket Operations wing of BCCI headed by Saba Karim and the COA also feels that chief selector MSK Prasad and company should be rewarded for their services.

Interestingly, BCCI treasurer Aniruddh Chaudhry is not aware of the remuneration hike.

As of now, chairman gets Rs 80 lakh per annum while other selectors get Rs 60 lakh. The decision to increase the remuneration was taken as two ousted selectors Gagan Khoda and Jatin Paranjpe are drawing the same salary as Devang Gandhi and Sarandeep Singh.

"Since selectors can be only appointed in AGMs, Jatin and Gagan despite not rendering services are drawing a fat salary as per norms. This is being unfair to Devang and Sarandeep, who are crisscrossing the country," a senior BCCI official said.

It is expected that chairman will get something in the range of Rs 1 crore while the two others will get anything between Rs 75 to 80 lakh.

The BCCI has also decided to double the match duty fees of domestic match referees, umpires, scorers and video analysts after a gap of six years.

The recommendation for a hike in fees was made by the Cricket Operations Division headed by Karim in consultation with the CoA during a meeting on April 12.

However, treasurer Chaudhary has not been kept in the loop regarding any of these financial decisions.

"I can remember that Aniruddh had suggested a substantial hike during a finance committee meeting last year but I don't think he has been kept in the loop this time," a senior BCCI official told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

As per the revised pay structure, an umpire will now get Rs 40, 000 per day for a first class, three days or 50 over game compared to the earlier Rs 20,000.

For T20 matches, it will be Rs 20,000 per match from the earlier Rs 10,000.

For the match referees, it will be Rs 30,000 for four days, three day and one day games while Rs 15,000 for T20 games.

The scorers, who have been the least paid, will now get Rs 10,000 per match day, save T20 games where they will be paid Rs 5000.

The video analysts will now get Rs 15000 per day for non-T20 games and Rs 7500 for the shortest format.

Meanwhile, Telangana Cricket Association has sought for associate membership from COA since Hyderabad has primary membership as a voting member.

As per the revised pay structure, an umpire will now get Rs 40, 000 per day for a first class, three days or 50 over game compared to the earlier Rs 20,000. "The BCCI Medical Team is confident that Kohli will regain full fitness ahead of India's upcoming tours to Ireland and England," the release concluded.&nbsp;

Kohli had visited a hospital in Mumbai for a check-up yesterday and it was reported that he is suffering from a slip disc injury and will not be playing for Surrey ahead of the UK tour.

Shashank Manohar, who became the first independent International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman in 2016, on Tuesday was re-elected unopposed to serve a second term.

As Manohar was the sole nominee for the position, the independent Audit Committee Chairman, Edward Quinlan, who has been overseeing the election process, declared the process complete, and announced Manohar the successful candidate.

"Over the next two years, we can look forward to launching a global strategy for the sport in partnership with our members so we can grow the game and ensure more of the world can enjoy cricket."

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to organise an Indian Premier League-(IPL) style women's T20 exhibition match prior to the opening play-off game at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) member Diana Edulji confirmed the news.&nbsp

Edulji added that the board wants to give an opportunity to women cricketers to experience IPL-style T20 match.

"It is a really good initiative. We wanted to give our women players opportunity to experience this. It`s just that we want to encourage performance of the Indian team and recognise their performance and help them exhibit their game. In case women`s IPL happens in future, then this experience will work for them," she said.

As per reports, a total of 30 players will be part of the two teams, with 20 of them being Indian while 10 will be overseas players.

There will be four foreign players in each team and it is expected to be a dry run for a potential women's IPL in the future.

The opening play-off of the ongoing 11th edition of the tournament is slated to be held on May 22.

When the chairman of selectors MSK Prasad was contacted by PTI for a clarification whether it was a clerical error, he said: "Kindly talk to the BCCI secretary on this issue."

When BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary was asked, he replied.

"Be rest assured, everything is fine," was all he said.

However, there has been no clarity as to what will be Kohli's choice as he gets to play only three four-day matches during his stint.

"If the selectors have picked him for the Ireland T20s despite the county dates being available, it means that he will not play the game against Yorkshire. This cannot be a unilateral decision as the county contracts has been inked after much deliberation. Playing against Ireland means that he will get only two county games.

"It will be very interesting to know why has there been a change in Virat's schedule if England Tests are paramount," wondered a senior BCCI official when apprised of the situation.

Standing at 5'8", there is seldom a dull moment when the stockily-built Shahzad is around, both on and off the field.

"Dekhiye hum fitness bhi poori karte hain aur khaate bhi poora hain (I work a lot on my fitness but I don't compromise on food). You want me to have a fitness routine like Kohli, it is not possible, but I am working on it (losing weight)," Shahzad tells PTI in a chat.

The burly 30-year-old cricketer, who has had an eventful international career dating back to 2009, simply plays by his own rules.&nbsp

He knows he is overweight but doesn't doubt his ability one bit, so much so that he believes that he can hit bigger sixes than Kohli despite not having the exemplary fitness and skill possessed by the Indian captain.&nbsp

Having played in a refugee camp in Pakistan, the Jalalabad-based player speaks urdu fluently and also passes the hindi test. Remind him of his weight again, Shahzad says not everyone can be like Kohli.

"Jitna lamba chakka woh (Kohli) maarte hain, main unse zyadaa maar saktaa hoon, zaroorat kya hain unki tarah itna diet karne ki (I can hit bigger sixes than Kohli so why do I need to follow his diet?)," says the stumper, whose failed attempts at weight-loss had resulted in a one-year doping ban last year.&nbsp

He spends a lot of time in India and claims to know top Indian cricketers well. He calls M S Dhoni his "closest friend" in the Indian team and also enjoys a good rapport with Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan (he continuously calls India opener 'Shekhar').

And then two weeks later, his country's cricket board, ACB, pulled him up for playing a local tournament in Peshawar without its permission and summoned him back to base.

"Dekhiye galti toh insaan se hi hoti hain (To err is human). I have had two cups of coffee with you and who knows I might test positive after this," says the attacking opener who also regrets not being selected for Afghanistan's maiden World Cup appearance in 2015.

He is liked both for his antics and his ballistic strokeplay. He has won fans in India for his Dhoni-like execution of the 'helicopter shot'.

"I try to hit it like Dhoni," he says before opening up on his rapport with the Indian cricketers.

"It is always nice to catch up with the Indian cricketers. They are very warm. I have always looked up to Dhoni and now I have the pleasure of knowing him. I have played against India three-four times and after the match gets over, I have dropped in at Dhoni's room and chatted for hours.&nbsp

"He usually asks me 'what's happening in Afghanistan' and at my home. We don't tend to talk a lot about wicket-keeping and batting, it is just regular stuff about life. His room is always open for a chat but yes, it is tough to reach him on his mobile number.&nbsp

"Even Suresh and Shikhar bhai are very warm people," says Shahzad, who like most of his teammates, is a Bollywood fan, his favourite actors being Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan.

Come June 14, Shahzad will become part of history when his team takes the field against India in a Test match for the very first time.&nbsp

"It will be some occasion. Earlier, the goal was to qualify for the World Cup. We have done that and now it is all about the Test against India."

Ask him about Kohli's possible absence from the historic match as he might be playing county cricket in England, Shahzad says playing against the Indian skipper would be more fun.

"It will be more fun and challenging if he plays. If he is not there, it will be a problem for India's batting, we have no issues. But we would want to watch him play."

He is also pleased with the fact that all of his teammates have overcome struggles to become world-class players, ensuring a brighter future for the aspiring youth in the war-torn nation.
