According to the 2024 Demographia International Housing Affordability Survey, Australian cities are among the worst for housing affordability in the world, with Sydney being the second least affordable on the list.

While some spoke in his support, many have criticised Albanese’s decisions.

A Japanese news anchor has lost her job and is facing intense backlash on social media after uploading a post in which she spoke about how difficult it is to "endure" the body odour of men and suggested that they need to shower more.

Tokyo-based freelance announcer Yuri Kawaguchi is known for her feminist outlook. The 29-year-old also works as a lecturer for harassment prevention training.

Taking to social media platform X on August 8, where she has around 13,000 followers, she raised her concern regarding men’s hygiene in summer, while asking them to take showers and use deodorant.&nbsp;

“I’m really sorry if there’s a personal situation, but the smell of men in the summer or the body odour of unsanitary people is so uncomfortable,” said the anchor.

“Only blaming men is infuriating and undoubtedly discrimination. Women, especially older women, can have body odour too. I’m really uncomfortable with this,” wrote a male netizen.

Some even called her a “materialistic woman out of touch with the struggles of ordinary people.”

<h2>Anchor apologises for the comment, removes the post</h2>

After the controversy broke out, the anchor issued a public apology and pulled down the post on August 11.

“This time, because of my careless remarks, many people were upset and hurt. I will deeply reflect on this. In the future, I will work hard not to hurt anyone with my remarks. I am really sorry," said the anchor.

However, her agency, Voice, terminated her contract, while accusing her of “defamation of the honour of the opposite sex”.

The company which hired Kawaguchi as a lecturer also cancelled her contract.

However, the&nbsp;terminations of her two contracts were criticised by Japanese netizens, who called it “too extreme”. This also started a debate on whether what she said was right or wrong.

The topic is themed as 'analytical positivism'."

"If we don’t understand what our ancient scriptures said and what they meant, then how can we analyse and develop an understanding of studying the course?" she added.

"The recommendations were given by the DU committee. This topic has not come all of a sudden. There were consultations of scholars, including a retired judge of a high court. There was a standing council meeting on June 25. I was a part of that meeting and no one opposed it then. Suddenly some people have woken up," Tikoo said.

This legal challenge emerged amidst rising opposition among certain Republican politicians who view environmental activism as detrimental to the oil and gas industry and the broader economy.

Several states, including Florida and Texas, have implemented legislation to discourage environmental, social, and governance investing and financing with target to deter harms on oil and gas industry.

Axa, a prominent European insurer, was a founding member of the Net-Zero Insurance Alliance but withdrew in May.

Its chief executive Thomas Buberl told the Financial Times, "My job is to manage insurance and not to deal . . . with 23 attorneys-general in the US."

It was "far more powerful" to act collectively on climate, he said, but he added: "You also have to at some point say to yourself, OK, where are your priorities? Is there a different way of getting to the same result with less hassle?"

Christian Mumenthaler, CEO of reinsurer Swiss Re, which also left the alliance in May, echoed Buberl's sentiment.

“It’s clear that in today’s political environment, it remains very difficult: there remains some political risk, some legal risk. Then the question is, OK, for the overall cause, how much is it adding?," Mumenthaler was quoted as saying by Financial Times.

Recalling seeing Elizabeth Taylor playing&nbsp;the role of an Egyptian ruler as a kid doesn't feel right to her, she wrote, ''I remember as a kid seeing Elizabeth Taylor play Cleopatra. I was captivated, but even then, I felt the image was 
not right. Was her skin really that white? With this new production, could I find the answers about Cleopatra’s heritage and release her from the stranglehold that Hollywood had placed on her image?'' 
 
Further, she wrote, ''Doing the research, I realized what a political act it would be to see Cleopatra portrayed by a Black actress.'' 
 
''For me, the idea that people had gotten it so incredibly wrong before — historically, from Theda Bara to Monica Bellucci, and recently, with Angelina Jolie and Gal Gadot in the running to play her — meant we had to get it even more right. The hunt was on to find the right performer to bring Cleopatra into the 21st century.'' 
 
Writting&nbsp;further, she questioned the people's obsession to see Cleopatra white: ''Why shouldn’t Cleopatra be a melanated sister? And why do some people need Cleopatra to be white? Her proximity to whiteness seems to give her value, and for some Egyptians, it seems to really matter.'' 
 
Not only Cleopatra’s beauty but through her casting, Gharavi said she also wanted to show&nbsp;her ''strength''. 
 
Hitting back at the backlash, the director said, ''While shooting, I became the target of a huge online hate campaign. Egyptians accused me of “blackwashing” and “stealing” their history. Some threatened to ruin my career — which I wanted to tell them was laughable. I was ruining it very well for myself, thank you very much! No amount of reasoning or reminders that Arab invasions had not yet happened in Cleopatra’s age seemed to stem the tide of ridiculous comments.'' 
 
''Perhaps, it’s not just that I’ve directed a series that portrays Cleopatra as Black, but that I have asked Egyptians to see themselves as Africans, and they are furious at me for that. I am okay with this.'' 
 
Concluding her long letter, she noted how misogynoir still has an effect on people. ''We need to liberate our imaginations, and boldly create a world in which we can explore our historical figures without fearing the complexity that comes with their depiction. After Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah issued a warning regarding Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's possible arrest upon the expiry of his three-week transit bail granted on June 2 by the security officials deployed outside his Bani Gala residence, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) members warned of a “strong backlash” from its workers.

PTI Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi asked PTI workers to come up with a "quick response" if Imran Khan is arrested, reported Geo News. "The PTI will retaliate in a strong manner if Imran Khan is arrested. And if PTI workers receive news of Imran Khan's arrest, they should come upon with a quick response to it," Qureshi said in a press conference after attending the party's core committee meeting.

Peshawar High Court on June 2 granted Imran Khan three-week transit bail against a surety bond of Pakistani rupees 50,000, ahead of PTI's second long march to Islamabad. Rana Sanaullah has said that Imran Khan has been charged in over two dozen cases including rioting, sedition, chaos and armed attacks at the federation, The News International reported.

While responding to Qureshi's press conference, Sanaullah said that whoever breaks the law will be dealt with by the law. "Martyrdom of an innocent police officer, using weapons and ammunition is not a political reaction," said the interior minister. He added that the government cannot act as a mere spectator if the PTI "lies and creates anarchy" in the country.

"The law and order will be strictly implemented, we will not break the law nor will we allow it," said the interior minister, adding that as soon as Imran Khan returned to Bani Gala, he started spreading a "new pack of lies".

A few hours earlier, the interior minister had revealed that the decision to deploy security officials at Bani Gala to guard PTI Chairman Imran Khan was made as per the law, however, the "same security" officials will arrest him once his bail expires, reported Geo News.

Kamalturk Yalqun, who was one of the torchbearers at the age of 17, is an activist in the United States now. He is currently living in exile in Boston.&nbsp;

In an interview, Yalqun said, "It seems to me that our sense of global citizenship and sportsmanship is not moving forward with these Olympic Games anymore." &nbsp;

Yalqun is disappointed with only the diplomatic boycott as he wants a full boycott of these games.&nbsp;

"It should be a collective responsibility when such kind of atrocities are happening. It's heartbreaking for me to see such a cold response from people," he said.
