<p>According to the UN, nearly 50 nations co-sponsored the resolution with 94 countries voting in favour, 14 against and 73 abstaining in the 193-member organisation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Notably, the resolution passed on Monday received the lowest level of support from countries across the board when compared to the five resolutions that the Assembly has passed since February this year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ukrainian Ambassador Sergiy Kyslytsya during the passing of the resolution took a stern stance and insisted that Moscow must be held accountable for the violations.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Seventy-seven years ago, the Soviet Union demanded and received reparations, calling it a moral right of a country that has suffered war and occupation,” said Kyslytsya</p>

<p>“Today, Russia, who claims to be the successor of the 20th century’s tyranny, is doing everything it can to avoid paying the price for its own war and occupation, trying to escape accountability for the crimes it is committing."</p>

<p>India, one of Russia's most trusted allies, once again toed a neutral line on the issue and abstained from voting and questioned the legal validity of the process.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We need to objectively consider whether a reparation process through a vote in the General Assembly would contribute to efforts at a resolution of the conflict. Moreover, the legal validity of such a process by a General Assembly resolution remains unclear," said&nbsp;Ruchira Kamboj,&nbsp;India's permanent representative at the UN.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Notably, India abstained from voting against a resolution denouncing Russia's annexation of Ukrainian territory last month as well.&nbsp;</p>

Facebook, the parent company of Meta earlier this month laid off as many as 11,000 employees while Twitter slashed half of its workforce. The employees fired, especially those on the H-1B visa have an arduous task in hand as the clock is ticking for them.</p>

<p>H-1B visa is a type of visa issued in the US which allows employers to hire foreign workers in speciality occupations.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, according to rules, when an H-1B visa holder is terminated from their job, they have a 60-day grace period which allows them to maintain the status quo and search for a new job.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Once the said period lapses and the visa holder is not able to obtain employment, they are expected to return to their country of origin.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The original employer is supposed to bear the cost of their return ticket under the H-1B visa policy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ganga Vilas Cruise, the world's longest luxury river cruise, covering a distance of 4,000 kilometres will set sail early next year in January, announced Sarbananda Sonowal, union minister of ports, shipping and waterways.</p>

<p>The maiden river voyage will commence on January 10, 2023, from the holy city of Varanasi in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and will culminate in Dibrugarh, Assam, a northeastern state on March 1.</p>

<p>The minister informed that the cruise ship will also be passing through Bangladesh, covering 1,100 kilometres,&nbsp;en route Assam, bringing both nations closer in the process.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 50-day cruise ship trip will be the first-of-its-kind cruise service based on a public-private partnership (PPP) model. Reportedly, private entities Antara Luxury River Cruises and JM Baxi River Cruises alongside the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), a government body will be collaborating on the project.</p>

<p>The fare for boarding the cruise ship hasn't been announced yet but according to reports, the central government will not be interfering in the setting of the price. The operators will&nbsp;set the price based on a cost-plus basis.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The highlights of the cruise trip will include witnessing the mesmerising 'Ganga Aarti', traversing through the Sundarban (the world's largest mangrove forest) and&nbsp;visiting Mayong, the cradle of 'black magic' in India.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The ship will pass through three major waterways viz. the Ganga-Bhagirathi-Hooghly river system, the&nbsp;Indo-Bangla Protocol Route (Kolkata-Dhubri) and&nbsp;National Waterway 2 over Brahmaputra.</p>

<p>Sonowal added that in addition to promoting passenger traffic on rivers,"the development of inland waterway systems would expedite trade and cargo services and attract tourists along its route.”</p>

The launch of the sub-orbital rocket named 'Vikram-S' will take place from India's spaceport Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. This rocket flight will mark the first-ever launch of a privately designed and built rocket from India. The launch window was announced as 12-16 November and the launch date had to be firmed up based on the weather conditions in India's East Coast, given the prevailing North East Monsoon.&nbsp;</p>

Generally, anything lofted above the 'Karman Line' (100 kms above sea level) is considered a foray into space and those below the Karman Line are known as sub-orbital flights for upper-atmospheric experiments.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This launch gains significance because it would offer an opportunity for Skyroot to test its flight hardware and systems, thus helping validate their work so far. the company is working on three orbital-class rockets in the Vikram series. The Vikram series of rockets are named after the Indian Physicist and Astronomer Dr. Vikram A Sarabhai, who founded the Indian Space Programme and laid down the ambitious vision for India to use space technology to benefit the common man.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Though India has end-to-end indigenous capability in designing, building and launching rockets, orbiting satellites and using the data for civilian strategic purposes, India is a small player in the global market. While India does launch satellites for foreign nations, India's share remains around 1.6-2% of the $450bn global market. Private sector players with their innovative ideas and competitive pricing are expected to gradually push the share further and create an aerospace ecosystem in India. This was the second such earthquake to be felt in the area in a week. According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake's epicentre was once again&nbsp;in Nepal and its magnitude was 5.4 on the Richter scale.</p>

<p>This was less powerful than the earthquake earlier this week that was felt in the Delhi area. Once more, the depth was 10 kilometres below the surface of the earth.</p>

<p>Noida and Gurugram both reported experiencing tremors.</p>

<p>The US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen stated on Friday that India can continue to buy as much Russian oil as it wants, including at rates above the&nbsp;G7-imposed price cap as long as it avoids Western insurance, finance, and maritime services bound by the cap.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In an interview with Reuters on the sidelines of the US–India business and investment opportunities event in New Delhi, Yellen said despite India's oil purchases from Russia the G7 price cap, which is intended to cut Russia's revenue will&nbsp;still work and bring down global oil prices.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Russia is going to find it very difficult to continue shipping as much oil as they have done when the EU stops buying Russian oil," Yellen told Reuters. "They're going to be heavily in search of buyers. And many buyers are reliant on Western services."</p>

<p>The Treasury Secretary also highlighted that Russian oil "is going to be selling at bargain prices and we're happy to have India get that bargain or Africa or China. It's fine."</p>

<p>Over purchase of Russian oil by India and private Indian oil companies, Yellen said they "can also purchase oil at any price they want as long as they don't use these Western services and they find other services."</p>

<p>During the event, she termed India as one of the trusted trading partners of US. "In a world where supply chain vulnerabilities can impose heavy costs, we believe it’s important to strengthen our trade ties with India and the large number of countries that share our approach to economic relations," she remarked&nbsp;at the event.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She said that the recent disruptions caused by the pandemic and Russia’s war on Ukraine are reasons to further deepen India-US economic ties.</p>
