As a result, the masjid's committee decided to post a notice outside the entry gates stating that "women who aren't accompanied by their family members or are alone are not allowed inside the mosque." On Thursday, someone discovered the warning that had been posted a few days earlier.

Unaccompanied women frequently meet men within the mosque and have a tendency to "act improperly" and "wait for their dates," the masjid had stated, while those who arrive with family members are allowed entry.

Following the announcement, Delhi Lieutenant-General V.K. Saxena got in touch with Shahi Imam Bukhari and asked him to revoke the directive. Both the National Commission for Women and the Delhi Commission for Women strongly condemned the ruling and demanded that the necessary steps be taken.

Shahi Imam Bukhari said: “The mosque is a place of worship and not for couples who do improper activities. We do not have any issues with couples coming here but they should only come here to offer&nbsp;namaz. I spoke to L.G. Saxena and our administration has decided to take back the order. We only issued it to preserve the sanctity of the mosque. Hereon, whenever we see a couple indulging in such activities, we will counsel them and call their parents to instruct them to not do so. The masjid administration does not want to prevent anyone from worshipping”.

Metals, that make major part in our daily, has also major impact by this war as most the metals are either produced or refined in Russia or Ukraine, is also witnessing a great price hike globally. That has resulted in a significant drop in operating profits for the auto industry, as well as an expected rise in prices in the coming quarters.

Adding insult to injury is the fact that travel costs are expected to rise in the near future, making the situation even more difficult. If the price of crude oil continues to rise, airlines are preparing to raise ticket prices because it is having a negative impact on operating costs.

Pharmaceutical companies will be forced to raise prices as a result of the Russian invasion in the days ahead. Considering that the pandemic is still raging, this could lead to the collapse of the Indian family unit.

India must be cautious at this time because of the numerous sanctions imposed on Russia and the fact that Russia is a close ally of India. India may be playing it safe internally, but sanctions will have a significant impact on the economy as well as on the long-term impact on India's national security. Impact of Russian War on India

With ten deaths over the last month and a sharp spike in cases, India’s financial capital city Mumbai is staring at a&nbsp;measles&nbsp;outbreak.&nbsp;

Until November 24, 2022, Mumbai has reported 252 &nbsp;confirmed cases.&nbsp;

Measles&nbsp;is a common infectious disease, especially among children, in which your body feels hot and your skin is covered in small red spots.

Children aged between 09 months to 5 years are mostly affected by&nbsp;measles.

In Mumbai, this is a huge jump from the last two years. In 2019, the city saw 25&nbsp;measles&nbsp;cases and in 2020, only nine were reported the entire year. But this year, in less than two months, 233 cases are reported.

In Mumbai, there are seven hotspot areas currently - Dharavi, Govandi, Kurla, Mahim, Bandra, and Matunga reporting the maximum number of cases.

“The start of the outbreak was indicated in October when the city reported 60 cases as against a mere 25 in September this year. That is when we decided we need to start surveying slum areas which are reporting maximum cases,” said Dr Mangala Gomare, Executive Health Officer, BMC.

Surveys revealed that due to the pandemic,&nbsp;measles&nbsp;vaccination of children got affected. Close to 20,000 children missed their&nbsp;measles&nbsp;vaccine.

“Our survey report suggested that only 41% of the eligible children had taken vaccination. We have started to raise awareness in these slum areas and track the children who have missed them. We are holding vaccination camps for them too,” said Dr Gomare to WION.

The BMC has issued an advisory stating that ‘Given Measles&nbsp;outbreak in Mumbai all the citizens are appealed to vaccinate their children between 9 months to 5 years of age with&nbsp;Measles&nbsp;containing vaccine.’

To contain the spread, vaccination camps, door-to-door surveys, and awareness sessions are being held by the city administration.

With the prices plummeting by over 50 per cent and no place to store the crop, the apple farmers of the valley are worried sick.

The apple farmers are getting 50-60 per cent lower prices than what they managed last year. The farmers say the demand for Kashmiri apples in the market has come down which has become a worry for the majority of apple growers in the Kashmir valley.

“We face a lot of problems like cold storage. Main cold storage facilities get booked in advance and due to the bumper crop, the growers were left with no option of storing their crop. It’s still lying outside and farmers don't know what to do with it. There was an issue with the national highway as well. And when all this crop reached the 'mandi' (market), there was a dip in prices," said Shahid Chaudhary, general secretary, New Kashmir Fruit Association.

"In a 'Mandi' which gets 50-100 trucks daily, over 150 trucks arrived and that eventually lead to dip in rates. We have been asking the government for more cold storage units. We have very less cold storage, we have requested the government time and again. There should be mini cold storages in small villages too," added Chaudhary. &nbsp;

One of the reasons for the dip in the rates of Kashmiri apples has also been the apples from Iran. The import&nbsp;of Iranian apples to India has affected the market of all the apple-producing states in the North of India, including Kashmir.&nbsp;

The apple growers and associations have requested the central government to stop the import of Iranian apples so that the market of home-grown apples is not affected.

"The Irani apples have ruined our market. We have asked central government to ban Iranian apples as it has affected our market. One of the reasons for dip in the rates of the Kashmiri apple is due to the Iranian apples," said Chaudhary.&nbsp;

Kashmir region has around 700,000 families associated with horticulture. And Apple is one of the major contributors towards the GDP of Jammu and Kashmir. With 3.5 million people associated with the apple industry, its contribution to the union territory's GDP is nearly eight per cent. According to data, there has been a 15-20 per cent increase in production this season.&nbsp;

"We had a bumper crop this year but there was a dip in the rates of the apples this year. The expenditure on boxes, fertilisers and pesticides has been more this year but rates have gone down. We are getting 300-400 rupees less this year per box as compared to last year. Iranian apples have impacted our market a lot, not only Kashmiri apples but also all other states in India. We have time and again asked the government for stopping the import of Iranian apples," said Bashir Ahmad, an apple agriculturist.

Kashmir produced around 2.3 million metric tonnes of apples last year. This year, it has increased by 15-20 per cent. Around 2,500 to 3,000 apple trucks would leave from the valley during the peak season. Buyers from across India are also facing losses due to the dip in rates.

“The rates have come down drastically as compared to last year. It could be due to the over production, we are buying at lesser price and selling at lesser too. Last year, we would buy for 800 rupees per box and sell it for 1000, but this year we are buying at 450-500 and selling at 600 which is leading to a lot of losses. Iranian apples also affected the Kashmiri apples," said Dinesh Yadav, a buyer.

All the apple growers across the Kashmir region have requested the central government to save Kashmir's biggest industry by banning the Iranian apple as well as by constructing more cold storage space in the valley.&nbsp;

According to data, there has been a 15-20 per cent increase in production this season. "We had a bumper crop this year but there was a dip in the rates of the apples this year. The expenditure on boxes, fertilisers and pesticides has been more this year but rates have gone down. We are getting 300-400 rupees less this year per box as compared to last year. Iranian apples have impacted our market a lot, not only Kashmiri apples but also all other states in India. We have time and again asked the government for stopping the import of Iranian apples," said Bashir Ahmad, an apple agriculturist. Last year, we would buy for 800 rupees per box and sell it for 1000, but this year we are buying at 450-500 and selling at 600 which is leading to a lot of losses. Indian traders are struggling to export cotton despite higher production as farmers are delaying sale of their harvest hoping for higher prices in coming months, industry officials told Reuters.

The limited supplies are keeping local prices significantly above the global benchmark, making overseas sales unviable from the world's biggest producer of the fibre.

"Harvesting of the new crop started last month, but many farmers are not willing to sell. They are holding crop hoping prices would rise like the last season," said Atul Ganatra, president of the Cotton Association of India (CAI).

Farmers received record prices for their last season's crop, but the new crop is unlikely to get the same prices as local production has risen and global prices have fallen, Ganatra said.

Cotton prices hit a record high of rupees 52,410 rupees per 170 kg in June, tracking a rally in global prices and as production fell. But prices have corrected nearly 40% from the peak.

"Last year we sold raw cotton at 8,000 rupees (per 100 kg) and later prices jumped to 13,000 rupees," said Babulal Patel, a farmer from western state of Gujarat, the country's biggest cotton producer. "This year we are not going to repeat the mistake. We are not going to sell below 10,000 rupees," he said.

Farmers used proceeds from the last few seasons' harvests to create storage facilities, which they are using to store the crop, Ashwini Bansod, head, commodities research at Phillip Capital India Pvt Ltd, said.

Despite higher output, spot markets were receiving nearly a third lower in supplies than normal, industry officials estimated.

India could produce 34.4 million bales of cotton in the 2022/23 season that started on Oct. 1, up 12% from a year ago.

India traders so far in the new season have contracted 70,000 bales for the exports, significantly lower than more than 500,000 bales contracted during the same period a year ago, said a dealer with a global trading house.

Bangladesh, Vietnam and China are among the key buyers of Indian cotton.

Exports are unlikely to gain momentum unless local prices fall or global prices move higher, said the dealer, adding "Indian cotton is holding premium of around 18 cents per lb over New York futures. The premium needs to come down to 5-10 cents to make exports viable."

Over the past century, World War 2 wreaked havoc in the world. After that leaders of that time made a serious effort to take the path of peace. Now it's our turn."

White House admits India played a key role in negotiating G20 summit declaration

In an effort to increase both its market share and worldwide network, Air India will start offering premium economy on a few of its long-haul&nbsp;overseas flights starting&nbsp;next month, according to the airline's CEO Campbell Wilson. Wilson stated in his address at a JRD Tata Memorial Trust event in Mumbai that the airline will raise its market share to at least 30 per cent&nbsp;on both domestic&nbsp;and international flights.

The airline is putting its long-term resuscitation strategy into play, and over the next five years, it plans to increase both the size of its wide-body and narrow-body fleets and the size of its international network.

"The short-term actions have been to replace carpets, curtains, seat cushions, and covers. To fix defective seats and inflight entertainment systems as fast as supply chains will allow. And where parts are no longer available in the market, to work with the likes of Tata Technologies to design and manufacture parts ourselves."

"We've recently completely revamped the domestic inflight menu, and will be doing likewise, as well as launching premium economy on certain long-haul international flights next month," the Air India CEO and MD said.
