However, it is not clear if he will be meeting President Vladimir Putin.

"The external affairs minister will meet his counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, the foreign minister of Russia. Discussions are expected to cover the entire range of bilateral issues as well as exchange of views on various regional and international developments," said MEA spokesperson&nbsp;Arindam Bagchi.

"Issues pertaining to bilateral economic cooperation in various domains will be discussed."

The visit by&nbsp;Jaishankar comes right before the G-20 summit, scheduled to take place in Bali from November 15-16.&nbsp;

The G-20 summit assumes importance because this will be the first time since the Russia-Ukraine conflict broke out in February that western leaders, including US President Joe Biden, will be in the same room.

Up until now, India has carefully nurdled its position on the issue with Jaishankar leading the charge.&nbsp;New Delhi hasn't condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine but has requested to solve the conflict through&nbsp;diplomacy and dialogue.&nbsp;

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Russia later this year. Thus, Jaishankar could be laying the groundwork for things to come. As the western bloc attempts to alienate Russia, it becomes highly crucial for Putin to have New Delhi in its corner.

Moreover, the visit comes in the backdrop of&nbsp;Russia becoming India's largest oil supplier in the month of October. According to reports, Kremlin now supplies almost 22 per cent of India's total crude imports, beating the likes of Saudi Arabia and Iraq.&nbsp;

Earlier this year, when western pressure was at full tilt on New Delhi to stop importing oil from Russia, S Jaishankar took a rather strong approach and shut the western media saying&nbsp;"buying Russian gas is not funding the war".

"Why it's only Indian money and fund coming from India and not gas coming to Europe which funds war, let's be even-handed out," said Jaishankar at the Globsec 2022 Bratislava forum.

"Why countries in Europe and West and the United States, why don`t they allow Iranian oil in the market why don`t they allow Venezuela oil to come to the market? The Indian sailors have been held hostage for nearly the last three months, and the families have demanded an immediate release of the sailors.

Gaurav Arora, a resident of the Govind Nagar area in Kanpur, is among the 16 Indian crew of the ship detained by the Navy of Equatorial Guinea, a country located on the west coast of Africa.

As per Gaurav's family, he had recently joined the merchant navy as a third officer and he was on a Norway-based ship 'MT Heroic Idun' that reached AKPO Offshore, a conventional gas development located in ultra-deepwater in Nigeria on August 8 when he was held hostage along with other crew members of the ship.

The ship had anchored on the international maritime boundary of Nigeria on August 8. The ship crew of 26 people including 16 Indians was waiting for their turn when the

Guinea Navy detained the ship and the crew the next day on suspicion that they had come to steal oil, his family said.

Of them, 15 were taken to a hotel, and 11 have been kept on the ship, they claimed.

The family said they are worried because the Guinean Navy is going to hand over the ship crew to Nigeria any movement.

What if one such bird is forced to be lonely and confined to a cage, owing to circumstances. That was exactly the plight of a vulture that was found in India's southernmost district Kanyakumari, back in 2017. The bird was found in an injured condition at a time when the&nbsp;southern peninsular India was being battered by Cyclone 'Ockhi'. The then juvenile vulture is said to have lost its way and sustained injury, thus necessitating captive treatment.

Over the last five years, the bird has been under the care of the Udhayagiri Zoo and was being treated by the forest department officials of Tamil Nadu. With the bird having fully recuperated and understood to be capable of living in the wild, the officials led by Supriya Sahu, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Environment &amp; Forests, Tamil Nadu took measures to re-wild the bird, by taking steps to rehabilitate it to its natural ways.&nbsp;

Considering the requirements and existing natural habitats of the Cinereous vultures in India, it was chosen that the bird could be rehabilitated in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, nearly 2,600kms away from Kanyakumari. Jodhpur offered a unique advantage of supporting a considerable population of this species, given how the city had dumping grounds where cattle carcasses were disposed, thus offering food for scavengers. With the nod from the relevant authorities in Rajasthan, it was decided to transport the bird.&nbsp;

Very soon, the bird would be released into the wild and can join its feathered friends and family. As a matter of precaution and to study the efficacy of the re-wilding effort, forest officials would be tagging the bird to locate its whereabouts and keep a close watch on its health.&nbsp;

The Nishat garden, Shalimar Bagh, Naseem Bagh, and Chinar Bagh are seeing a huge&nbsp;rush of tourists enjoying these beautiful visuals and taking photos in these breathtakingly beautiful locations.&nbsp;

''I am loving it. I came specially for this, and I have seen this in 'Mohabbatein' movie. We wanted to experience it and we love it. Kashmir is so beautiful. The government has also announced special festivals for the tourists coming to the Valley during the&nbsp;autumn&nbsp;season.&nbsp;

As rescue officials face the mammoth task to locate the missing, they are now looking to drain large volumes of water from the 10-kilometre stretch of the river.

According to the Hindustan Times newspaper, Gujarat’s irrigation department has set up two large pumps on the bank of the river to remove water. In the last 48 hours, at least 700,000 litres of water have been drained.

“We have deployed two pumps of 50 horsepower each. They are pumping out around 12,000 litres of water every minute,” Hindustan Times quoted Prasanna Kumar, the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) commandant overseeing the search operations as saying.

The air corridor between India and Afghanistan has been reopened and the trade between the countries would resume, officials in the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in Kabul said, according to Bakhtar News Agency.

The trade between Kabul and New Delhi was halted after the Taliban took over Afghanistan last year.

Afghanistan’s commerce ministry spokesperson Abdul Salam Jaweed said India and Afghanistan signed a trade agreement on Monday.

India has been a major importer of Afghani saffron, dry fruits, and asafoetida plant. The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) hoped that trade of these goods would be conducted through the air corridor.

The resumption of the air corridor was welcomed by Afghan traders who are hopeful that India would be a good market for its products.

“We need to export some of the commodities via the air corridor. However, we currently export pine nuts to India and UAE through an air corridor,” The Tolo news quoted Mohammad Younus Momand, head of the ACCI, as saying.
