Charithra to produce show on Kama Sutra

Charithra told Variety, “I’m working on a reality TV show, which is inspired by the ‘Kama Sutra,’ [for] which I would be just behind the scenes. I would just be producing obviously, not on the show. The ‘Kama Sutra’ is actually an ancient Hindu text, but in the West, it has this not-so-pleasant, or positive, reputation and connotation. And it’s about taking ownership back of things that belong to us and our culture, and actually showing the beauty and the importance of these texts and what modern society can learn from it.”

Apart from this, Charithra will also produce a TV adaptation of Shankari Chandran’s bestselling novel Song of the Sun God. It follows three generations of a close-knit Sri Lankan family, whose story is inextricably entangled in their country’s three-decade-long civil war. The script is penned by Olivia Hetreed.

On the adaptation, she said, “We’re still in development. It’s really, really exciting. I have to say, I think it’s the best script I’ve ever read. It’s sensational. I can’t wait for us to get going on making it and for the world to see it. It’s something that is so important. And I feel the responsibility to make it 100% right.
What was the fiasco about?

Earlier this month, Poonam Pandey faked her death. A note on her Instagram story claimed that the actor had passed away due to cervical cancer. Her publicists also confirmed the news, later clarifying that it was what they had learned from her sister.

When this news drew attention to cervical cancer and Poonam’s life, she appeared hale and hearty in a video the next day. She revealed that she pulled this stunt to raise awareness for cervical cancer.

It was February 2 when the statement was posted on Poonam Pandey’s Instagram page. The statement, issued by Poonam's team, claimed that she had lost her battle with cervical cancer. Then on February 3, Poonam uploaded a video on Instagram, confirming that she was alive, much like what social media users speculated.

Her death stunt was slammed by netizens. Celebrities along with fans called it improper and hurtful to people who suffer from cervical cancer.

On February 3 when Poonam quashed death rumours, she said in the video, "I feel compelled to share something significant with you all. I am here, alive. Cervical cancer didn't claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease. Unlike some other cancers, cervical cancer is entirely preventable. The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. We have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease.

"Let's empower one another with critical awareness and ensure every woman is informed about the steps to take. Together, let's strive to put an end to the devastating impact of the disease and bring #DeathToCervicalCancer," she wrote on Instagram.

To start off, we would like to extend a heartfelt apology - especially towards those who have been triggered as a result of having faced/having a loved one face the hardships of any kind of Cancer," Schbang said.

We have an amazing news for The Devil Wears Prada fans. The awesome trio of Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Anne Hathaway are set to reunite for a special occasion.

The trio has confirmed their attendance for the upcoming 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt will present together at the awards. This reunion will mark 18 years of the cult film The Devil Wears Prada which many hail as the best fashion film ever. The film was released in 2006 and was directed by David Frankel.

Blunt is up for best female actor in a supporting role

The Devil Wears Prada follows new graduate Andy Sachs played by Anne Hathaway who lands a job as an assistant to Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), who plays a demanding editor-in-chief of a high fashion magazine. Emily Blunt played the OG assistant to Miranda but since she plans on going to Paris Fashion Week with the editor, there is a demand for an assistant to the assistant. The film beautifully takes on stereotypical notions of how a fashion magazine operates and what it stands for.

Following the release of The Devil Wears Prada, Meryl Streep got a SAG Award nomination and an Oscar nomination for her role. This year, Blunt is up for best female actor in a supporting role as well as best cast performance in a motion picture for Oppenheimer at the SAG Awards 2024. Meryl is also nominated at this year’s awards for best performance by an ensemble in a comedy series in Only Murders in the Building. Oppenheimer’s OTT release: Here's where you can watch Christopher Nolan's atomic thriller

‘The Devil Wears Prada’ cast to reunite at 2024 SAG Awards

Barry Keoghan has no chill. The Saltburn actor gave everyone a little NSFW peek as he bared it all in a teaser for Vanity Fair’s 30th annual Hollywood issue. The issue made its way to social media and fans couldn’t keep it together as Barry looked amazing baring his butt to the world.

In an Instagram video shared by Vanity Fair’s official page, Barry and other A-listers from Hollywood were seen getting together. The cover features 10 well-dressed stars including Bradley Cooper, Natalie Portman, Colman Domingo, and Pedro Pascal, and a naked Barry Keoghan.

Barry Keoghan and his antics

In his interview for the issue, Barry discussed Hollywood's recent Irish wave – himself, his co-star Jacob Elordi, and how his naked dancing scene is probably the only thing he has in common with his twisted Saltburn character, Oliver.

Barry said, “I didn't really draw parallels to him the way I have to certain other characters. I do dance around naked though, in my house. Everyone does, man. It's one thing that I did relate to, in the sense that I sing out loud, I dance silly, and move my body silly."

Barry said, “I didn't really draw parallels to him the way I have to certain other characters. I do dance around naked though, in my house. Everyone does, man.
Natalie Portman recently featured in a fun teaser for Vanity Fair’s annual Hollywood issue cover as she got talking about the decline of the movie star. The Oscar-winning actress said that kids these days have no idea who movie stars are. On the contrary, the kids know about popular YouTube stars.

Natalie said, “The striking thing has been the decline of film as a primary form of entertainment. It feels much more niche now. If you ask someone my kids’ age about movie stars, they don’t know anyone compared to YouTube stars, or whatever.”

Natalie Portman finds liberation in her art not being popular

But does she think that’s wrong? Well, the answer is no as she added, “There’s a liberation to it, in having your art not be popular. You can explore what’s interesting to you. It becomes much more about passion than about commerce. And interesting, too, to beware of it becoming something elitist. I think all of these art forms, when they become less popularised, you have to start being like, okay, who are we making this for anymore?”

She thinks this is a sign of good times because “there’s also been this democratisation of creativity, where gatekeepers have been demoted and everyone can make things and incredible talents come up.”

Now it feels like if you’ve got an internet connection, you can get access to anything. It’s pretty wild that you also feel like at the same time, more people than ever might see your weird art film because of his extraordinary access.
No mystery around movie stars, feels Ana de Armas

There is no novelty in meeting or knowing a movie star with anyone finding instant fame and recognition courtesy the social media. Ana de Armas affirmed the idea herself last year when she spoke to Vanity Fair about there being no “mystery”. She said, “I feel like the new generations don’t have that concept, because of social media. There is so much information out there and oversharing. The concept of a movie star is someone untouchable you only see onscreen. That mystery is gone. For the most part, we’ve done that to ourselves — nobody’s keeping anything from anyone anymore.”
