In a news release, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau&nbsp;announced the appointment saying, ''Salma&nbsp;is devoted to supporting people in her community, from new immigrants and young people, to women and families."

"As lieutenant-governor of Alberta, I know she will serve the people of her province and our country well, and continue to be a source of inspiration for all Canadians." he added.

Reddit&nbsp;Chief Executive Steve Huffman said in a post detailing changes to the company's content policies that communities and users promoting hate would be barred.&nbsp;Reddit&nbsp;was banning about 2,000 subreddits, the majority of which were inactive, he said.

"r/The_Donald" was among some 2,000 forums or "subreddits" banned as tightening of rules at the news-focused social website, Reddit said.

Hong Kong activists Joshua Wong, Nathan Law and Agnes Chow withdraw from pro-democracy Demosisto group after the national&nbsp;security law was passed by Chinese legislators uninamously on Tuesday.
