The app was launched in March 2020 and won a government award for driving tech innovation. It raised more than $4 million in funding last week from new and existing investors including venture capital firms Accel and 3one4 Capital.

However, Tesla has hit another roadblock in the form of security malfunction and other technical problems due to which thousands of models of the company are being recalled both in the US and China.

Chinese regulators have summoned representatives of US electric car giant&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;after reported technical problems with their vehicles, notably concerning their safety, officials in Beijing said Monday.&nbsp;

The news comes several months after two recalls of the company's vehicles in China, the world's largest car market.&nbsp;

"Consumers have cited multiple problems, related to unusual accelerations, batteries catching fire, as well as with the remote update system," the State Administration for Market Regulation said in a statement.&nbsp;

"They were asked to strictly conform to Chinese laws and regulations" in order to "guarantee public security" and the "rights and legitimate interests of consumers", the regulator said.

Tesla&nbsp;will recall nearly 135,000 cars to repair a computer memory failure that could pose a safety risk, US regulators said on Tuesday.

The electric car manufacturer notified the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the massive recall over the problem affecting the cars' touchscreen that could cause a loss of some features.&nbsp;

The recall covers the 2012 to 2018 Model S sedans and the 2016 to 2018 Model X SUVs equipped with a NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor,&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;said in its notification to NHTSA.

When the flash memory in the touchscreen reaches the end of its useful life, it "can cause failures of the center display software components, and may indirectly cause loss of the rearview camera display, defrost/defog control settings and exterior turn signal lighting," the manufacturer said.

Tesla&nbsp;said it will repair the issue at no cost to car owners, starting in late March.

NHTSA opened a preliminary investigation into the issue of backup camera failures in June 2020.

About 159,000 vehicles were affected by memory issues, according to NHTSA. However,&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;said the recall does not cover those that already were upgraded to the Intel Atom processor.

While vehicles can still be driven, and&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;said it was not aware of any accidents as a result of the issue, the failure "may increase the risk of a crash."

WHO expert panel says AstraZeneca Covid jabs works for over-65s and for variants

Prominent Nepali Communist Prachanda, a leading opponent within the ruling party of Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli's decision to call for an early election, said on Wednesday the premier should resign and repent over the move.

Nepal was plunged into crisis on December&nbsp;20 when Oli declared he could no longer work with rivals in his Nepal Communist Party (NCP), dissolved parliament and called for a fresh election more than a year ahead of schedule.

"K.P.Oli if you want some political space, there is still time for you to resign and express repentance publicly," Prachanda told an anti-Oli rally.

Prachanda, a former prime minister who still goes by the nom de guerre he used while leading a decade-long Maoist insurgency that ended in 2006, said protests to oppose Oli's "unconstitutional" move would rage across Nepal.

"Oli is not interested in the election ... don't be misled by his talks about elections, they can't be held as planned," Prachanda told the cheering and whistle-blowing crowds, near Oli's office in the capital Kathmandu.

Oli blames Prachanda and other opponents in the party for a lack of cooperation he says has stymied effective government as the Himalayan nation seeks to navigate a pandemic-induced economic crisis.

"This is a historic judgment that validates our decade-long struggle to get the courts to recognise mental illness as a mitigating circumstance," Sarah Belal, founder and executive director of Justice Project Pakistan, told Reuters.

Some 518 people have been executed in Pakistan since 2014 when the government lifted a moratorium on capital punishment, and 4,225 people are on death row.

Ali was sentenced to death for murder in 2001 and government doctors later diagnosed him with paranoid schizophrenia.

In a 2016 ruling, the Supreme Court said schizophrenia was "not a permanent mental disorder", and his execution could go ahead despite an outcry from human rights groups.

The other person to have the sentence commuted was Kanizan Bibi, who spent 30 years on death row for killing six people when she was a teenager.

In their ruling, the judges said she should be moved to a mental health facility and treated for her illness.

A cousin of Bibi's, Munawar Hussain, 28, welcomed the ruling saying she was only 15 or 16 when she was arrested and had been subjected to abuse.

Ibrahim Unverdi, a car dealership owner in Turkish city Adana filed a complaint against his employee&nbsp;Ramazan Cimen for trying to kill him and his wife as well as steal almost $30,000 from him.

Unverdi had given the money to&nbsp;Cimen after the sale of the car so that he could take it to the office but instead of doing so, he absconded with the cash.

When the dealership boss finally got in touch with his employee,&nbsp;Cimen said he needed the money to repay a loan shark who he owed.

Unverdi claims that another employee at his dealership told him that&nbsp;Cimen had bought the saliva of a coronavirus patient for $50 and tried to spike his boss' drink.

He said&nbsp;“This is the first time I have heard of such a bizarre killing technique. Thank God I did not become sick. God is always with the good.”

Cimen also sent threatening messages to&nbsp;Unverdi saying ''I could not kill you with the virus. I will shoot you in the head next time."

Unverdi and his wife have been provided police protection after he lodged an official complaint and submitted evidence against&nbsp;Cimen.

"Me and my kids can't leave the house. We seem to be in prison in our own home,” Unverdi's wife Dilek said.&nbsp;

"The left (engine throttle) was moving backward too far while the right one was not moving at all -- it was stuck," said National Transportation Safety Committee investigator Nurcahyo Utomo.

"But what would have caused this anomaly? We can't conclude anything just yet."

Authorities have previously said the crew did not declare an emergency or report technical problems with the aircraft before its dive, and that it was probably intact when it hit the water.

They cited a relatively small area where the wreckage was scattered and details from a retrieved flight data recorder, one of two so-called "black boxes", showing the engine was still running just before it crashed.

Communications with air traffic control were described as normal up until the moment that the plane sharply deviated from its intended course and crashed.

At about 10,900 feet, the autopilot disengaged and the plane rolled to the left more than 45 degrees and started its dive, according to the report.

The Sriwijaya accident is Indonesia's third major airline crash in just over six years and has shone a spotlight on the country's poor air safety record.

Starting with just one plane in 2003, Sriwijaya has become the country's number three&nbsp;airline group, aided by its strategy of acquiring old planes at cheap prices and serving routes neglected by competitors.

There had been two prior problems reported with the autothrottle system that automatically controls engine power based on maintenance logs, but the issue was rectified on Jan. 5, four days before the crash, KNKT said.

A working autothrottle is not required for a plane to be dispatched as pilots can control the thrust levers manually with their hands.

Divers are still searching for the plane's cockpit voice recorder which could help investigators understand the actions taken by the pilots, both of whom were experienced with 17,900 hours for the captain and 5,100 hours for the first officer.

The report highlighted the importance of upset recovery training for pilots and the recognition of repetitive plane defects, just over six years after an AirAsia Indonesia crash where those were among the issues raised.

KNKT said that following the crash Sriwijaya had taken safety actions including adding upset recovery training in its next pilot proficiency check and reminding engineers that repetitive defects must be handled in accordance with safety manuals.

The airline sent a memo to pilots reminding them to write detailed reports to help engineers troubleshoot problems.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation also discussed the handling of repetitive problems and upset prevention and recovery training with other Indonesian operators after the crash, KNKT said.

Boeing said it would continue to support the investigation.

The preliminary report, as is standard, laid out factual information obtained to date but did not list the contributing factors to the crash. That will require further investigation.

Safety experts say most air accidents are caused by a combination of factors that can take months to establish. Under international standards, the final report is due within a year of the crash.

Dutch researcher and scientist&nbsp;Marco Langbroek threw cold water on the speculative theories associated with alien spacecraft, saying the object sighted was a Trident-II&nbsp;SLBM (Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile) test.

Eric Vandernoot, an&nbsp;astronomy and physics lab coordinator at Florida Atlantic University, highlighted the altitude of the object in the sky made it possible that the UFO-resembling&nbsp;object was visible from the Bahamas to Florida.&nbsp;

When Former US President Donald Trump had&nbsp;signed the $2.3 trillion coronavirus relief bill into law in December last year, he also set into motion a 180-day countdown for the authorities to reveal all they know about UFOs, or perhaps aliens.

As part of this, the Director of National Intelligence, along with the Secretary of Defense have less than six months to provide an unclassified report about "unidentified aerial phenomena" to the congress and committees of armed services.

The authorities have to reveal the information as part of the section in the Intelligence Authorization Act for 2021, which is a constituent provision of the spending bill.

America's premier spy agency the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) declassified data on unidentified flying objects (UFOs) months before the deadline under the Freedom of Information Act.

The documents can now be accessed by downloading from the Black Vault website.&nbsp;The website Black Vault is being run by John Greenewald Jr. The data involves every instance of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) which has been mapped by the US government.

There are reportedly 2.2 million pages uploaded on Black Vault. The PDF files contain several hundred instances of UFO spotting across the globe which was stored in US government files.
