<p>While sharing a post of her cousin, she wrote, “Odaya, my sister and her husband were brutally murdered by Palestinian terrorists in front of their children, was found dead today (Sunday). Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our beloved cousin in the terror attack. Her warmth, kindness, and love will always be remembered.”</p>

<p>"Please stand with us and the people of Israel in this time of difficulty, It’s time people see the reality of these terrorists and how inhumane they can be," she added.</p>

<p>The emergency alert message popped with a loud buzzer-like sound. However, there is no need to panic, since this was part of a test of the country's new emergency alert system, which is being deployed by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Why&nbsp;was the alert sent?</strong></h2>

<p>"In our continuous commitment to the safety of citizens of India and the communities, tests of Cell Broadcast Alert System are being conducted on each Telecom Service Provider. These tests will be performed from time to time in various regions across the country to gauge the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency alert broadcasting capabilities of the systems in place, of various Mobile Operators and Cell Broadcast Systems," the Ministry of Communications had said in a release.</p>

<p>This is not the first time such a&nbsp;message&nbsp;was&nbsp;sent.&nbsp;A&nbsp;similar flash alert was sent to many users a few weeks ago. The Department of Telecommunications Cell Broadcasting System (DoT CBS) has announced that it plans to conduct similar tests periodically in various regions.</p>

<p>The government is closely working with the NDMA project, which will be used in times of disasters such as tsunamis, flash floods, and earthquakes, among other scenarios.</p>

<p>C-DOT's CEO, Rajkumar Upadhyay, earlier informed that the technology for cell broadcast is currently only available from foreign vendors, so C-DOT is developing its own.&nbsp;</p>

The Election Commission (EC) of India has announced the schedule for the assembly polls in five states. The elections will be held in November 2023 in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram.


Elections in the central state of Madhya Pradesh will take place on November 17 in a single phase for 230 constituencies.


The Rajasthan assembly election will be held in a single phase. All 200 seats will go to polls on November 23.


Chhattisgarh elections will be held in two phases– on Nov 7 and Nov 17. While a of total 90 seats will go to polls on November 7th, the remaining seats will vote on November 17th.


The elections will begin on November 7 in Mizoram. The state has 40 assembly constituencies.


Telangana's assembly election will be held in a single phase. All 119 seats will go to polls on November 30.


Counting of votes in all five states will be held on December 3.
