Even on Tuesday (Jan 9), it would be hard to spot the red planet, as it will be less than ten degrees above the horizon. However, Venus will be a beacon in the morning sky until it fades from the Northern Hemisphere's southern latitudes around May 2024. It will reappear as an evening apparition in June 2024. While using binoculars or a telescope to observe the trio of these planets alongside Earth's Moon, never look in the rising Sun's direction through an optical aid or with the naked eye. NASA's Center for Near Earth Object Studies has also identified 89 potential impacts that 2007 FT3 can have on Earth, one of which is on 5 October 2024. However, the space agency clarified that it was nothing to worry about, as one potential point of impact when the asteroid was closest to the Earth had already passed in 2019. "An important note here is planetary scientists define asteroid approaches that come within 30 million miles of Earth's orbit as close approaches. The larger an asteroid is, the easier it is for our planetary defence experts to find, meaning that their orbits around the sun are usually very well-known and understood for years or even decades," NASA said. NASA and other space agencies keep watching the near-Earth objects that could cause devastation if they cross paths with Earth. However, the creature was preserving and even carried cable ties to the tray. He told the BBC, "It has been going on for months. I call him Welsh Tidy Mouse. At first, I noticed that some food that I was putting out for the birds was ending up in some old shoes I was storing in the shed, so I set up a camera." "I couldn't believe it when I saw that the mouse was tidying up," Holbrook said. "He moved all sorts of things into the box, bits of plastic, nuts and bolts. I don't bother to tidy up now, as I know he will see to it. I leave things out of the box and they put it back in its place by the morning. Ninety-nine times out of 100 the mouse will tidy up throughout the night," he added. However, it is not the first time such an incident has happened to Holbrook. In 2019, a mouse stashed several items in Holbrook's friend's shed near Bristol. Steve Mckears witnessed that screws and metal objects kept reappearing in a box containing bird feed. Mckears said at the time that he thought he was going crazy. When Holbrook and he set up a camera to investigate what happened, they found a mouse was collecting screws and other metallic things in the container. Schools Closed In Noida The district administration has ordered schools in Noida and Greater Noida to remain closed for students up to eighth grade till January 14 because of the dense fog and cold wave conditions. Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar issued the order for all schools recognised by the state board, CBSE, ICSE, IB and others. "In compliance with the instructions given by District Magistrate Maneesh Kumar Verma, due to the dense fog and extreme cold, all the board (CBSE/ICSE IB, UP Board and others) affiliated schools (from Class nursery to 8) running in the district Gautam Buddh Nagar, will observe holiday till January 14," the order stated, adding that all schools must follow its strictly. West Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a drastic plunge in minimum temperatures in the last few days. In Gautam Buddh Nagar, the minimum temperature recorded was nine degrees Celsius on Saturday. According to the IMD forecast, the temperature will range between nine and 13 degrees Celsius over the next six days. Furthermore, IMD has issued a cold wave alert for West Uttar Pradesh, including Gautam Buddh Nagar. (With inputs from agencies)
