The US State of Texas on Thursday (October 21), filed a lawsuit in this regard.

The lawsuit alleged that Google had violated state law for its profit, by collecting biometric data of people in Texas such as voice notes and face details. However, the company has denied these allegations and promised to set the record straight in court.&nbsp;

In a release, the general attorney Jen Paxton said, "Google's indiscriminate collection of the personal information of Texans, including very sensitive information like biometric identifiers, will not be tolerated," AFP reported.&nbsp;

Paxton, a conservative Republican, has filed numerous lawsuits targeting tech companies, like Meta.

In a conversation with AFP, Google's spokesperson said that the attorney is again discharging the tech giant with another 'breathless lawsuit.'

He further clarified that Google Photos uses a technology with similar faces to club them together and makes it easier for the users to find the pictures. The spokesperson also said that this feature is only available to users and is turned off otherwise.&nbsp;

Similarly, the features of voice notes, Face Match, and other similar default features help the users of Google Assistant recognise them and access the information easily.&nbsp;

The main reason behind the case is because of the absence of clear federal regulation governing the collection of data, so several US states created their own legislation.&nbsp;

He was charged with several charges of sxual battery through deception, sexual exploitation last year. Despite being charged in relation to sexual battery, exploitation and penetration, he was still not found guilty but the jury remained deadlock for the counts.&nbsp;

November 17 is the date set for his sentence.&nbsp;

The $700 million paid in the lawsuit is a record sum for any public institution to pay.

At least&nbsp;15&nbsp;people have been&nbsp;killed&nbsp;in the latest outbreak of&nbsp;ethnic&nbsp;clashes&nbsp;after land disputes in&nbsp;Sudan's southern&nbsp;Blue&nbsp;Nile&nbsp;state, local leaders and medical sources said Wednesday.

"My message to all companies is this: you’re sitting on record profits. And we’re giving you more certainty. You can act now to increase oil production. You should not be using your profits to buy back stock or for dividends – not while the war is raging," he said.&nbsp;

This news comes after the OPEC+ countries, which produce oil, announced they would reduce output, the White House officials reported.

According to the Energy Information Administration, the 15 million barrel release will not be sufficient to meet US oil consumption for each day.&nbsp;

The snake was found on Monday (October 19) by a passenger on the plane as it was taxiing at the airport. This created chaos among the passengers.

It was a garden snake which was later removed by the police and operation employees at the gate.

The Port Authority reported that the flight was United 2038 from Tampa.&nbsp;

The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission said that there are various snakes that can be&nbsp;classified as "garden snakes", the recent one was too. These are nonvenomous, mostly found in gardens and keep control of pests.&nbsp;

The Internet shopping giant, Amazon Inc is facing a UK class action lawsuit on allegations it's dominating the online market using a "secretive algorithm."

According to Hausfeld, the law firm behind this complaint, Amazon has allegedly forced millions of customers to pay more by concealing better offers on the website and app to promote its own products. It was further claimed that the company is able to accomplish this by using the Buy Box feature known as "secretive and self-favoring algorithm,"&nbsp;alarabiya news reported.&nbsp;

A judge will still need to formally declare the lawsuit to be a class action. Class action lawsuits mean that an individual does not have to be included to get involved in it.&nbsp;

By October 31, according to Hausfeld, the lawsuit will be brought against the IT company for possible losses, damages could reach nearly £900 million ($1 billion).

The tens of millions of people who were involved in the lawsuit will be represented by a consumer right consultant, Julie Hunter.&nbsp;

China halts reselling of LNG to Europe and Asia to safeguard its winter season

The&nbsp;death&nbsp;toll&nbsp;from an&nbsp;Ebola&nbsp;epidemic&nbsp;declared last month in&nbsp;Uganda&nbsp;has climbed to&nbsp;44, the World Health Organization said on Wednesday.

WHO&nbsp;chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a press briefing in Geneva that there had been 60 confirmed and 20 probable cases, with&nbsp;44&nbsp;deaths and 25 recoveries.&nbsp;

"We remain concerned that there may be more chains of transmission and more contacts than we know about in the affected communities," he added.

The previous&nbsp;death&nbsp;toll&nbsp;provided by the&nbsp;WHO&nbsp;on October 5 reported 29 fatalities.

President Yoweri Museveni last week ordered two districts at the heart of the&nbsp;epidemic&nbsp;in central&nbsp;Uganda&nbsp;to be put under lockdown, imposing a travel ban, a curfew and the closure of public places.

Museveni had already ordered traditional healers to stop treating the sick, in a bid to stop the spread of the virus.

He also ordered the police to arrest anyone infected with&nbsp;Ebola&nbsp;who&nbsp;refused to isolate.

The authorities say the outbreak remains concentrated in the central districts of Mubende and Kassanda has not reached Kampala, despite a couple testing positive for the virus in the capital.

Tedros on Wednesday said two cases from Mubende sought care in Kampala, "increasing the risks of transmission in the city" of 1.5 million people.
