The last time the IMF granted Iran such a loan was in 1960 - 19 years before the Ayatollah came to power. On its part, the IMF has promised to proceed with the request in line with its policy.

Even President Trump offered to help the Iranian government saying all Tehran had to do was ask for it, however, it was two weeks back and the situation has become considerably worse for Iran since then.

"They're having a very big outbreak and I say here and now, if we can help the Iranians, we're doing certain things for them now, and if we can help the Iranians, we have the greatest healthcare professionals in the world and if we can help the Iranians with this problem, we are certainly willing to do so. we would love to be able to help them and all they have to do is ask, we will have great professionals over there," Trump said.

The National Conference&nbsp;leader was booked along with NC vice-president Omar Abdullah and Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti who remain in detention.

"I can't believe I`m free. I hope everybody else is released too. I will attend Parliament if allowed. And once I am there, I will raise the problems being faced by the people of Kashmir," Abdullah said after being released.

The finance minister said State Bank of India(SBI) will take 49 per cent stake in Yes Bank in a bid to revive the bank.

"There will be three years lock-in period for SBI for up to 26 per cent of their investment. For others, there will be a lock-in period of three years of 75 per cent of their investment," Sitharaman asserted.&nbsp;

Sitharaman said SBI is also in talks with other prospective investors.

"The moratorium will be lifted within three days of notifying the scheme," the finance minister said, adding,"A new board, having at least two&nbsp;directors of SBI, will take over within seven&nbsp;days of the issuance of notification."

"Authorised capital has been raised from Rs 1,100 crores to Rs 6,200 crores of Yes Bank to accommodate immediate and subsequent raising of capital requirements," Sitharaman added.

Yes Bank shares in the morning had risen ten per cent after SBI said it will infuse Rs 7,250 crore. The stock went up 9.98 per cent to Rs 27.55 on the BSE and 10.57 per cent to Rs 27.70 on NSE.

"The government is in close contact with Iranian authorities to save Pakistani zaireen [pilgrims] from coronavirus," Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, minister for religious affairs and interfaith harmony&nbsp;had said in a statement.

The Pakistan minister had said the government had placed a special team in the Taftan region to protect Pakistani pilgrims. According to Pakistan media reports, the "fake" clearance certificate incident occurred in Kanak region of Balochistan.&nbsp;

On Thursday, Prime Minister Imran Khan called an emergency meeting of the National Security Committee to discuss the coronavirus situation in the country with chief ministers of the various provinces invited for the meeting.

Pakistan has reported at least 20 coronavirus cases. A 14-year-old boy in Gilgit-Baltistan tested positive for the virus on Wednesday.

The country saw a spurt in cases last week as the number of confirmed cases rose to 16.

"TikTok is owned by a Chinese company that includes Chinese Communist Party members on its board, and it is required by law to share user data with Beijing," Senator Hawley said, adding," as many of our federal agencies have already recognized, TikTok is a major security risk to the United States, and it has no place on government devices."

Last week during a Senate hearing, US officials including the FBI, US&nbsp;Justice Department and Homeland Security had said that the Chinese app could become a tool to be exploited by Chinese intelligence services.

A California college student had earlier accused the video-sharing app of transferring private user data to servers in China in a lawsuit. According to the filing, the app had allegedly transferred user data to two servers in China bugly.qq.com, and umeng.com in April 2019.

According to reports, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States had opened a national security review of TikTok. The US government believes the app is being used as a tool of espionage.

In November last year, the US government had launched a national security review of TikTok owner ByteDance Technology's $1 billion acquisition of US social media app Musical.ly.

As the Senators set the US bill in motion, TikTok said it was opening a "Transparency Center" at the company's Los Angeles office in a bid to boost transparency.

"This new facility in our LA office will provide outside experts with an opportunity to directly view how our teams at TikTok go about the day-to-day challenging, but critically important, work of moderating content on the platform," the company said in a statement.

"The Transparency Center will open in early May with an initial focus on TikTok's content moderation. Later, we will expand the centre to include insight into our source code, and our efforts around data privacy and security," it added.
