Also, 40,000 Nepalese nationals serve in the seven Gorkha regiments of the Indian army. They enjoy the same retirement benefits as their Indian counterparts. At least 80,000 Nepalese are currently on India's pension books. The Indian army also supports 11,000 widows of Nepalese soldiers and 17,000 retired soldiers from Assam Rifles.

But, it has deep links with the Sri Lankan military. Chinese officers have undertaken high-level visits to Sri Lanka. China has also provided military training to Sri Lankan officers.&nbsp;

All of this points to one thing, China's silk&nbsp;road is just a means to an end. It will not just put China in the centre of world trade. But, will also be a way for China to boost its military presence. It is a colonisation project. The 21-century version of the East India company.

The government hasn't replied yet. It is busy saving itself. The rift in the ruling party the Nepal Communist Party remains as wide as ever. There are two sides. One led by prime minister-- KP Sharma Oli, the other by the party's co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Now they're fighting over nationalism. A tug of war to prove who's a bigger nationalist. Dahal has hit out at Oli saying that no one has a monopoly that's because Oli took the entire credit for changing Nepal's map. Nepal depicted Indian territories, Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani as its own. The new map was signed into the constitution last month.

Meanwhile, Finnish telecom maker Nokia said: "We have the capacity and expertise to replace all of the Huawei equipment in the UK's networks at scale and speed, and are ready to step up to support the implementation of the UK government decision with minimal impact on the people using our customers’ networks."

Nokia is one of the prime competitors of Huawei in the 5G infrastructure development.

The US has alleged that Huawei helps the Chinese government in spying activities, an allegation it has consistently denied. Britain had put the Chinese company on review after US sanctions blocked Huawei's access to US chips and semi-conductors which is needed for 5G networks.

China had earlier warned Britain it could face repercussions as a trading nation if it backed down from the Huawei deal.

The project was launched with the view to destroy terrorist launch pads in PoK. The defence forces now hope to extend it to other areas of operations.

The Tamil Nadu government on Monday informed the Madras High Court that all the 129 foreign members of Tablighi Jamaat detained in a special camp for various violations will be soon moved to Tamil Nadu Haj service society in Choolai area in the city.

"They have been detained for various lockdown violations and for involving in the preaching of their faith violating visa conditions. So far 14 FIRs have been registered. Now the state has decided to accommodate them in the society in Choolai. It has 89 rooms and a separate place for women," state Public Prosecutor A Natarajan said.

He made the submissions on the plea seeking a direction to the state to release the Tablighi Jamaat members, who are currently detained in a special camp for foreign prisoners.

Opposing the PP's submission, senior advocate for the petitioners Ajmal Khan contended that all the detainees are foreign nationals and they do not know the regional language.

"When this was the case, how could they be involved in religious preaching?" he asked.

Recording the submission, a division bench, comprising Justices N Kirubakaran and V M Velumani adjourned the hearing to July 20.

According to the prosecution, of the detained 53 are from Indonesia, 17 Malaysia, 14 Thailand, 14 Bangladesh, 13 Myanmar, 8 Ethiopia, 5 France, 3 Comoros, 1 Congo, and 1 from Belgium.&nbsp;
