Afghanistan is set to make its third consecutive appearance at the ICC World Cup. The team will feature a number of players who have been with the team since its inaugural appearance in 2015.

The Aussies are leaning heavily on experience this time with multiple leaders such as Steve Smith, Glen Maxwell and David Warner in their ranks.

Bangladesh Cricket was marred with controversy after their squad announcement. Tamim Iqbal was left out, which led the former batsman to level charges against BCB.

England will be aiming to defend their ICC World Cup title as they travel to India for the 2023 edition.

Newly crowned Asian champions India will rely on their big-name players, such as skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja.

The Dutch have recalled the experienced duo of Roelof Van der Merwe and Colin Ackermann in spite of omitting them from the qualifiers.

Even before the tournament began, last year’s runners up New Zealand captivated cricket fans with their heartfelt squad announcement earlier this month.

Pakistan has been in the limelight before the start of the tournament, with visa issues and injuries to their pacers. The visa issue has been settled, with Babar Azam and co. arrived in India.

Two changes have been made to South Africa’s provisional squad for the World Cup, with pacers Andile Phehlukwayo and L. Williams replacing Sisanda Magala and Anrich Nortje respectively.

Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lanka will aim to make a statement in the tournament with a blend of youngsters and veterans.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) may soon make its way into your kitchens. With newly-developed AI-powered grill, it will take less than mere 90 seconds to cook a perfect steak. UK-based company Seergrills has paved the way for AI in cooking with its new product - Perfecta.

Perfecta, developed by an Aston University engineering graduate, boasts of creating the ‘world’s first AI-powered grill’. The AI-powered cooking machine is developed by Suraj Sudera, a 2015 batch Mechanical Engineering student from Aston University.

Sudera founded Seergrills, a Birmingham-based startup, which applies AI and advanced technologies to specifically improve cooking.

Sudera said, “We noticed there is often difficulty and inconsistency in cooking food; it’s mostly always overcooked and dry, taking a long time.”

“So, we decided to use our skills and knowledge to apply AI to cook the perfect steak and set up SEERGRILLS."

Perfecta: World’s first AI-powered grill

Sudera said Perfecta is not just world’s first AI powered grill, but also world’s fastest and most intelligent grill. The company claims that because the process is so fast and focused, it saves up to 50 per cent energy than other cooking methods.

The device is powered by NeuralFire technology, which is AI combined with proprietary cooking system that can cook more than 50 types of food in under three minutes.

How does it work?

Users begin by placing their meat in the grill, utilising a touchscreen to select the desired doneness and sear level, then hitting Start. The Perfecta proceeds to measure the size, surface area and fat content of the meat, using integrated sensors that are part of its NeuralFire AI system.

Based on that information and the user's preferences, the device then cooks the meat (on both sides at once) utilising two vertical infrared burners that reach a maximum temperature of 1,652ºF (900ºC).

According to Seergrills, the "perfectly cooked" result is ready to eat in no more than three minutes.

Not just meat, the device is also capable of cooking over 50 types of food using propane or electric heat in grill, oven, pizza and rotisserie modes, as per the company.

But in case you are not satisfied with AI-powered device making steaks for you, the device also has a chef mode, which allows you to take the full manual control and grill the meat yourself.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) issued first-of-its-kind rules of engagement for civilian hackers in conflicts. The organisation released the rulebook in wake of unprecedented numbers of civilians joining patriotic cyber-gangs since the Ukraine invasion.

The rulebook is of eight rules comprising of bans on attack on hospitals, hacking tools that spread uncontrollably and threats that may terrorise civilians. The rulebook also comes with a warning to hackers, that their acts may jeopardize lives, including their own, if they are designated a legitimate military target.

Many cyber gangs, however, intend to ignore the rules, as per reports.

ICRC’s 8 rules for ‘hackitvists’

Based on international humanitarian law, the rules are:

1. Do not direct cyber-attacks against civilian objects

2. Do not use malware or other tools or techniques that spread automatically and damage military objectives and civilian objects indiscriminately

3. When planning a cyber-attack against a military objective, do everything feasible to avoid or minimise the effects your operation may have on civilians

4. Do not conduct any cyber-operation against medical and humanitarian facilities

5. Do not conduct any cyber-attack against objects indispensable to the survival of the population or that can release dangerous forces

6. Do not make threats of violence to spread terror among the civilian population

7. Do not incite violations of international humanitarian law

8. Comply with these rules even if the enemy does not

‘Patriotic hacking’: A new weapon of war

ICRC is sending the new rules to hacking groups specifically involved in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In the past, hacking has been increasingly used as a weapon of war. A new form of hacking, called ‘patriotic hacking’, has rise over the past decade.

The ICRC statement highlights pro-Syrian cyber attacks on Western news media in 2013. This worrying trend further accelerated by the Russia-Ukraine conflict and is now spreading globally, ICRC legal adviser Tilman Rodenhäuser says.

"Some experts consider civilian hacking activity as 'cyber-vigilantism' and argue that their operations are technically not sophisticated and unlikely to cause significant effects," he says.

The ICRC is also imploring governments to restrain hacking and enforce existing laws.

The Ukraine conflict has blurred the boundaries between civilian and military hacking, with civilian groups such as the IT Army of Ukraine being set up and encouraged by the government to attack Russian targets.

The IT Army of Ukraine, which has 160,000 members on its Telegram channel, also targets public services such as railway systems and banks.

Large groups in Russia have similarly attacked Ukraine and allied countries - including disruptive but temporary attacks, such as knocking websites offline, on hospitals.

ICRC’s 8 rules for ‘hackitvists’ Based on international humanitarian law, the rules are: 1. Do not direct cyber-attacks against civilian objects 2. Do not use malware or other tools or techniques that spread automatically and damage military objectives and civilian objects indiscriminately 3. When planning a cyber-attack against a military objective, do everything feasible to avoid or minimise the effects your operation may have on civilians 4. Do not conduct any cyber-operation against medical and humanitarian facilities 5. Do not conduct any cyber-attack against objects indispensable to the survival of the population or that can release dangerous forces 6. Do not make threats of violence to spread terror among the civilian population 7. Do not incite violations of international humanitarian law 8. Comply with these rules even if the enemy does not ‘Patriotic hacking’: A new weapon of war ICRC is sending the new rules to hacking groups specifically involved in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Also Read | Indonesian authorities hunting foreign national who meditated naked at Hindu shrine "Some experts consider civilian hacking activity as 'cyber-vigilantism' and argue that their operations are technically not sophisticated and unlikely to cause significant effects," he says. The ICRC is also imploring governments to restrain hacking and enforce existing laws. The Ukraine conflict has blurred the boundaries between civilian and military hacking, with civilian groups such as the IT Army of Ukraine being set up and encouraged by the government to attack Russian targets. Also Read | Nobel chemistry prize sparks controversy, purported winners' names out before decision is made The IT Army of Ukraine, which has 160,000 members on its Telegram channel, also targets public services such as railway systems and banks. Large groups in Russia have similarly attacked Ukraine and allied countries - including disruptive but temporary attacks, such as knocking websites offline, on hospitals. Walking barefoot is more than merely feeling the ground beneath your feet. It offers a diverse array of health advantages. Here are some of the benefits.

Walking barefoot stimulates nerve endings in feet and sends signals to increase blood circulation throughout your body.

Walking barefoot on grass or sand, exposes you to negative ions, which helps in decreasing exhaustion levels and provides an organic uplift during regular strolls.

Walking barefoot has a calming effect on the nervous system. Being in direct contact with the earth reduces the effects of stress, anxiety, and helps you to find solace in nature.

Walking barefoot challenges your tactile perception, as you adjust to different surfaces and textures. This heightened awareness can improve your coordination, stability, and agility.

By walking barefoot on natural surfaces such as grass or earth, you engage more muscles and burn additional calories. The uneven terrain further challenges your body to work harder.

Walking without shoes allows your foot arch and muscles to work naturally and become stronger. It helps in augmenting the foot’s aptitude for assimilating impact.
