Five Life Skills Gen-Z Can Learn From Millennials And Baby Boomers

Gen-Z is full of hopes and dreams. But often they lack a stillness ('thehraav') of character required to have the unhindered focus to realise those exact hopes and dreams. They are keen to win the race but aren't ready to be slow and steady; a skill they must learn from older generations.

Yes, yes. Gen-Z has too much energy to pull through the day. But wouldn't that lead to burnout if not conserved right? That's a life skill they must learn from previous generations.

This is a slippery slope that the generations before Gen-Z have walked with their heels on. So a piece of advice from a senior generation counterpart would certainly help.

Yes. Most Gen-Z people are outspoken. But they can take a cue from the strategic silence of their seniors at work or elsewhere and learn about what to speak and when.

The self-declared know-it-all generation-Z can learn these life skills from millennials and baby boomers

Modi: India-US partnership to be driving engine for ‘sustainable and inclusive global growth’

Top Leadership Lessons From Game of Thrones

Whether it was Tywin or Cersei or even Walder Frey or Roose Bolton, all dictators put their families before the state.

2. Honourable leaders are betrayed first

Family, duty and honour may be the words of House Tully, the 'nani ka ghar' (granny's house) of the Stark kids, but ask Ned Stark — if he was betrayed by his own honour.

3. Self-made leaders have good networkers by their side

Daenerys was raised far from Westeros. But her foothold in the land of her ancestors was established because she had great networkers by her side: Tyrion and Varys.

4. Respected leaders are fine communicators

Fine leaders communicate to inspire than to intimidate. Think about when Daenerys told former slaves to choose their own names in Meereen. She was regarded as 'Mhysa', the mother.

Despite the constant warring chatter in Westeros, Tyrion topped the list of counsels of different Iron Throne occupants and aspirants. Why? Because he read and knew things.

6. Thinking strategically is key to topping the leadership game

Would Jon Snow have won the Battle of the Bastards if it wasn't for Knights of the Vale brought by Sansa? Leave that. Remember, when Daenerys came to Winterfell, Sansa was loud enough to ask: 'What about the North?' North's freedom always topped Sansa's strategic game of thrones.

7. Impulsive leaders are leaders of the worst kind

There was no way Stannis Baratheron, a man of southern seas, was going to win a battle in North's Winterfell with poorly-fed forces against Ramsay Bolton. But impulsively, he fought the war and led his men and women to defeat. Don't forget what happened to the most benevolent, Princess Shireen Baratheon, due to her father's impulses.

The number of leadership lessons in Game of Thrones are second to none. Here's what you can learn from GoT's leadership chart.

<p>Sri Lanka this week reached a deal with Russian nuclear giant Rosatam&nbsp;to build a nuclear power plant that may run two reactors and generate 300 megawatts of energy, the Sri Lankan ambassador in Russia said.</p>

<p>"We will go for a nuclear power plant … There are options actually … two sources, 300 megawatts," Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage told Sputnik on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.</p>

<p>The ambassador said that having its own power plant would allow the Indian Ocean island nation to overcome the energy crisis.</p>

<p>Reports in the Russian media stated that Moscow&nbsp;will speed up the approval process to begin the construction in the near future.</p>

<p>"There is a proposal and there is approval to follow the procedures from the Sri Lankan cabinet, and the International Atomic Energy Agency is also now looking at it, and they have set up certain working groups. Rosatom has set up four working groups in four different areas," Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage said.</p>

<h2><strong>Russia has agreed to take back nuclear waste from proposed plant: Sri Lanka</strong></h2>

<p>Earlier in March,&nbsp;Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board (SLARB) chairman SRD Rosa told Sri Lankan newspaper Daily Mirror that the country plans to have either off-shore or on–shore Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) that have a power capacity of up to 100 MW per unit.</p>

<p>With the use of nuclear power generators, the country plans to minimise the use of fossil fuels that have already put a burden on the debt-ridden economy of the South Asian island nation.</p>

<p>The newspaper had quoted Rosa as saying: "The government has sought to implement the project in collaboration with the Russian government. The required technology will be provided by them, and they had also agreed to take back the nuclear waste. The Russian government has the technology to reprocess the nuclear waste."</p>

<p>Russia is also building Bangladesh its first nuclear power plant, named&nbsp;Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. It is located on the bank of the Padma river about 160 km from capital Dhaka. Sri Lanka this week reached a deal with Russian nuclear giant Rosatam to build a nuclear power plant that may run two reactors and generate 300 megawatts of energy, the Sri Lankan ambassador in Russia said. "We will go for a nuclear power plant … There are options actually … two sources, 300 megawatts," Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage told Sputnik on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The ambassador said that having its own power plant would allow the Indian Ocean island nation to overcome the energy crisis. Reports in the Russian media stated that Moscow will speed up the approval process to begin the construction in the near future. Rosatom has set up four working groups in four different areas," Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage said. Russia has agreed to take back nuclear waste from proposed plant: Sri Lanka Earlier in March, Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board (SLARB) chairman SRD Rosa told Sri Lankan newspaper Daily Mirror that the country plans to have either off-shore or on–shore Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) that have a power capacity of up to 100 MW per unit. With the use of nuclear power generators, the country plans to minimise the use of fossil fuels that have already put a burden on the debt-ridden economy of the South Asian island nation. The required technology will be provided by them, and they had also agreed to take back the nuclear waste. The Russian government has the technology to reprocess the nuclear waste." Russia is also building Bangladesh its first nuclear power plant, named Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. It is located on the bank of the Padma river about 160 km from capital Dhaka. With its first nuclear plant, Dhaka, like Colombo hopes to reduce its dependence on coal and other fossil fuels. India too is a stakeholder in the R-NPP, making the project the first Indo-Russian nuclear project outside India. So far, it is not clear if India would have any stakes in the proposed nuclear plant in Sri Lanka. WATCH WION LIVE HERE You can now write for wionews.com and be a part of the community.
