7 Countries With Compulsory Military Service

Under the Russian law, military service for a period of 12 months is compulsory for all able-bodied men aged 18 to 27.

North Korea pursues a military-first policy also known as ‘Songun’, under which school graduates are made to join the service at the age of 17-18 for 10 years.

In South Korea, men are supposed to serve either in army (21 months), navy (23 months), or air force (24 months). Successful sportsmen, such as those who win gold at Olympics or Asian Games, can avail an exemption from compulsory service.

The 1949 Israeli Security Service Law makes military service compulsory for all Israelis on turning 18, except for the ultra-Orthodox and Arab Israelis.

Under Brazilian constitution, military service is compulsory for every male citizen for a duration between 10 to 12 months.

In Iran, all men over 18 years old must serve in the military for a period between 18 to 24 months.

In 2017, Sweden decided to re-introduce military conscription. Compulsory military service is now applicable to both men and women. The conscripts are expected to serve a period of nine to 12 months.

These are the countries in the world where military service is compulsory in one way or other

Take a paper, draw a map, and follow the route on bicycles as sun appears with saffron shades of the beginning of something new. In many cities, you can now rent bicycles on hourly basis.

A mind needs books and a heart needs romance if both are to keep their edge. Add some good coffee to it, and there’s a recipe of a perfect date.

4. Caffeinated stroll in a familiar alley

Why do you have to rely on cafes for coffee. Do some effort. Get some coffee in a flask, pour it for yourself and your date, and walk down a peaceful alley, acquainting with the idea of whichever phase of togetherness you may be in.

This demands a bit of effort. Buy a kite and related material, and fly the kite with glasses on for a date viewing sky high fluctuations.

An art class is an ideal point to kick off a crafty beginners’ date moment on and off the canvas. Pun intended.

A concert has a vibe that catches on to you once you’re in it. It may have moments where you’ll bond over music or love watching music flow into people’s veins.

Finding a unique place for a romantic date could be daunting. Here are the 7 places you can choose from. Spoiler: Some of them require extra-effort.

Today marks the 74th birthday of Meryl Streep, a true icon of the silver screen. To celebrate the birthday of this legendary actress, let's explore one of her greatest (and isn't that saying something?) performances to showcase the depth and authenticity she brings to her characters, even in cases when the script is not up to the mark. In the 2011 film&nbsp;<em>The Iron Lady</em>, Streep's portrayal of late British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher exemplifies her ability to transcend boundaries, challenge expectations, and deliver a tour de force performance that solidifies her status as one of the greatest actors of our time.</p>

<p>Nose size is a significant predictor of penile size, according to a new study that confirms the truth of an erstwhile myth about penis size.</p>

<p>The research by a team at Ulsan University Hospital in South Korea&nbsp;confirms&nbsp;an earlier&nbsp;2021 study which had similar results.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The study was published in <em>Translational Andrology and Urology</em>. The study&nbsp;also showed that&nbsp;men with big feet are likely to have a penis with a wider circumference.</p>

<h2><strong>Why is it so?</strong></h2>

<p>Scientists think this is because of the higher levels of testosterone one is exposed to in the womb.</p>

<p>Testosterone plays a key role in the formation of both the nose&nbsp;as well as the genitals in baby boys.</p>

<p>"Nose size is an important indicator of penile size and penile circumference increased with foot size. Several studies have suggested hormone exposure in the prenatal period affects the growth of reproductive organs," researcher&nbsp;Dr Sungwoo Hong, was quoted as saying by Daily Mail.</p>

<h2><strong>How the study was done?</strong></h2>

<p>For the latest investigation, researchers studied 1,160 men in their thirties and measured their nose size compared to their non-erect penis size.</p>

<h2><strong>Are there any limitations to the study?</strong></h2>

<p>The said study, while showing the relationship between the penis and nose sizes, "seems to have limited clinical significance".</p>

<p>"In addition, the number of patients who visited our urologic clinic was insufficient to represent the general population; however, the average size of the penis did not differ from that of the general population. Moreover, this finding is important in light of the relationship of the growth process of the penis and facial features with androgens, especially testosterone," the study said.</p>

<p>The study added that further research is needed to determine whether it is possible to enhance the size of the penis as well as the reproductive function by controlling obesity.</p>

A goose, that isn't even real, was sold for $6.2 million during an auction in New York City. 'The Goose', a Non-Fungible Token (NFT), belonged to a bankrupt crypto hedge fund named Three Arrows Capital. Sotheby’s originally predicted that 'The Goose' would sell for $2 million to $3 million. The price is more than twice what the premier auction house Sotheby had forecast. It is also the second-highest sale ever made for a piece of generative art, according to a Southeby comment cited by The Washington Post.
