Streaming giant Netflix said that it added 5.9 million new subscribers globally in the second quarter of 2023 amid its password-sharing crackdown.

The subscribers from the United States and Canada made up 1.17 million in the newly added 5.9 million pie of subscribers of the leading streaming platform.

Netflix's password sharing crackdown

The platform rolled out its password-sharing crackdown in the United States in late May. Each extra Netflix user out of a household started costing $7.99 per month. The password-sharing ban has been put into place by the streaming platform in India starting July 2023.

How Netflix increased its subscriber base

The revenue in each of Netflix's regions has now risen substantially, with new signups outnumbering cancellations.
Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting feels South African pacer Anrich Nortje is just a couple of spells away from being match ready and expressed optimism over his availability for their next IPL game against Lucknow Super Giants on April 7.

Nortje has been out of competitive cricket since last November's T20 World Cup due to a back and hip injury.

"Nortje bowled 100% this morning (Saturday) in the warm-ups. He has to get through another maybe four or five-over spell at 100% capacity and then I think if he gets clearance from Cricket South Africa, he should be right to go.

"We have got a few more days before our next game, so hopefully he is available for selection for that one," Ponting said at the virtual post-match press conference after losing by 14 runs against Gujarat Titans here on Saturday night.

A breakthrough drug known as donanemab has emerged as a significant milestone in the battle against chronic forgetfulness or Alzheimer's disease, after a global trial that confirmed its ability to slow down cognitive decline.

The US pharmaceuticals group Eli Lilly on Monday reported full findings of its phase 3 clinical study of donanemab at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference in Amsterdam.
