Indian rescuers save elite bull worth over $120,000 from flood near Delhi

A group of divers had an unexpected encounter when they came across a massive oarfish with unique openings in its body.

This rare fish, believed to be a harbinger of earthquakes, was spotted near Taiwan, and a video that captured the sighting went viral on social media.

The footage, which gained widespread attention, was originally shared on Instagram by a page called Wealth.

It shows astonished divers encircling the impressive shiny silver fish off the coast of Ruifang in Taipei County.

At one point, one of the divers even extended their hand to touch this extraordinary creature.

According to the divers, the fish measured approximately 6.5 feet in length, which, although sizable, pales in comparison to their maximum recorded size of 36 feet.

The Guinness Book of World Records recognises the oarfish as the longest bony fish currently known to exist.

However, the divers believed that the fish's presence was not a good sign for its well-being.

Diving instructor Wang Cheng-Ru told Jam Press publication: "It must have been dying, so it swam into shallower waters."

Diving instructor Wang Cheng-Ru told Jam Press publication: "It must have been dying, so it swam into shallower waters." Originally named Lomka, ‘Gulab Jamun’ came to India through a Mediterranean trade route.

The beloved ‘rajmah’, typically eaten with rice in northern India, has Mexican origin.

The popular breakfast item in southern India, ‘idli’ too does not have Indian origin. Its origin has been traced to Indonesia and it reached India via West Asia.

‘Samosa’ has West Asian roots, with fillings of meat and nuts during ancient times.

While ‘Naan’ came to India during Mughal era, it is of Persian origin.

‘Jalebi’ has origins in West Asia. Indians really do not own their beloved ‘jalebis’.

You wouldn't believe it. From your staples to your favourites, many Indian food items have foreign origins

Strikes by airport and airline staff grounded hundreds of flights and left thousands of travellers stranded in Europe on Saturday at the height of the busy summer tourism season.

In Italy, some 1,000 flights, both domestic and international, were cancelled as a result of the strike by ground crew, according to airport and airline authorities.

Another 120 flights due to depart and arrive from Belgium's Charleroi airport were cancelled Saturday and Sunday, triggered by a walkout of budget carrier Ryanair pilots over working conditions.

Italy's strike alone left some 250,000 travellers stranded in one of the world's top tourist spots.

It comes amid a record heatwave, billed by the national weather service as "one of the most intense of all time", that would bring temperatures of at least 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) to Rome and 48C to the islands of Sicily and Sardinia.

The strike by ground crew, who are demanding a new collective contract six years after the previous one expired, was due to last from 10:00 am (0800 GMT) to 6:00 pm (1600 GMT).

The airport in Rome saw some 200 flights cancelled, authorities said.

Flights by Malta Air, which handles transfers for popular budget carriers Ryanair, Vueling and Ita Airways, were also affected after pilots joined the walkout.

Milan's airports saw some 150 flight cancellations, while dozens of others were grounded in Turin and Palermo.

Transport Minister Matteo Salvini called the strikers to exercise "common sense" so as "not to harm millions of other workers and tourists".

Spain's opposition conservative People's Party (PP) is ahead of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's ruling Socialists (PSOE) but still short of winning a decisive majority in this month's general election, according to two tracking opinion polls published on Saturday.

To secure an absolute majority of the 350 lower house of parliament seats needed to form a government after the July 23 election, the PP would almost certainly have to ally with the far-right Vox party, opinion polls have shown.

A tracking poll by GAD3 for ABC, a right-wing newspaper, showed the PP could win 37.2 per cent of the vote, or 152 seats, compared to the PSOE, with 28.5 per cent of the vote and 115 seats.

The PP would win more votes than the PSOE and the far-left Sumar party together, the poll found. Sumar would win 25 seats or 11.4 per cent of the vote while Vox would claim 11.7 per cent of the vote or 29 seats.

This would put the PP and Vox combined with just over the 176 seats needed for absolute majority, according to the poll in which 6,501 people were interviewed by telephone from June 29-July 14. The poll had a margin of error of 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, the PP's share of the vote fell slightly according to a tracker poll by 40dB for El Pais, a centre-left newspaper.

The PP would win 32 per cent of the vote or 133 seats, one seat down from a previous poll published on Friday, while the PSOE would win 28.3 per cent of the vote, or 109 seats, showing no change on earlier polls.

Vox's share of the vote would stay the same at 14.6 per cent or 39 seats, while Sumar would win 13.8 per cent of the vote or 38 seats, five more seats than a poll published on Friday
