Mehbooba Mufti and Farooq Abdullah, two prominent political leaders from Jammu and Kashmir have blamed Bollywood movie 'The Kashmir Files' for creating hatred across the country. Both are former chief ministers of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state which is now a union territory.

Both the leaders met Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Jammu and Kashmir to apprise him of current situation in the Kashmir Valley. Farooq Abdullah, president of National Conference spoke with media in Kashmir's Anantnag District.

"We have raised the issue of the law &amp; order situation in J&amp;K with LG during the meeting. We have told him that the film 'The Kashmir Files' has created an atmosphere of hate in the country. Such things and films should be banned," he said.

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti also blamed the 'Kashmir Files' for widening gap between the communities. She said that BJP is only doing communal politics.&nbsp;

"The PAGD met with the LG Manoj Sinha, and we raised concern about the movie 'Kashmir Files'. It has triggered hatred among people of various communities. We also informed him that the government is using high-handedness against journalists and government employees. The prevailing law and order situation in Kashmir was also discussed," said PDP President Mehbooba Mufti.&nbsp;

The People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) met LG as well and spoke with him about plight of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley.

Mehbooba Mufti also quoted former Indian prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said that his policy has to be implemented in the union territory. She said that the bloodbath in the valley won't stop till we look for a solution.&nbsp;

Mehbooba also spoke about Gyanvapi mosque and alleged that BJP doesn't want to talk about jobs, unemployment and economy. She said Hindu-Muslim politics won't last forever.&nbsp;

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday claimed to have gunned down two terrorists&nbsp;responsibile for the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit, Rahul Bhat, during an encounter in Bandipora district.

According to police, the terrorists belonged&nbsp;to the proscribed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and had recently infiltrated the Kashmir valley from across the border.&nbsp;

The terrorists who are from Pakistan&nbsp;have been identified as Faisal alias Sikander and Abu Ukasa.&nbsp;

According to the J&amp;K Police, Faisal was involved in the killing of 3 J&amp;K policemen in Bandipora on Dec 10 and Feb 11 this year. &nbsp;These terrorists had recently shifted base to central Kashmir.&nbsp;

After killing&nbsp;Rahul Pandit, both terrorists shifted their base to the Bandipora district. The police, who were tracking them, located their hideout in the Aragam area of the district and eliminated them.

"The deceased LeT terrorists were being tracked for some time. They had infiltrated and on Wednesday, we had launched an operation in Bandipora in which one terrorist was killed. &nbsp;Lateef (another terrorist) was helping them move, and yesterday at the time of killing Rahul Bhat, we saw their movement again through our technical surveillance.&nbsp;After killing Bhat, they went to Bandipora back to their hideout. We kept tracking them and in a joint operation, both the Pakistan-based&nbsp;terrorists were killed,"&nbsp;Iftikhar Talib,&nbsp;head of Special&nbsp;Operations&nbsp;Group, J&amp;K Police, said.

The police officer added that their accompalice,&nbsp;Lateef,&nbsp;is still missing. He said, "We are tracking him."

“Two recently infiltrated Pakistani terrorists of LeT terror outfit who escaped from the recent anti-terrorist operation on Wednesday at Salinder forest area were tracked down. They were trapped today at Brar Bandipora,” said Vijay Kumar, Inspector General (IG) of Police, Kashmir.&nbsp;

He further said that the search operation is still in progress to locate other infiltrators.

Police had earlier killed Hyder who was an accomplice of the same gang during an encounter on Saturday at Devsar in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.

The first terrorist who was killed earlier on Wednesday was identified as Gulzar Ahmad Ganai from Pattan Baramulla. He crossed over to Pakistan in 2018 on a valid Pakistani visa and came back as a trained terrorist.

He had infiltrated with two other terrorists from the Line of Control. The two terrorists killed today (Friday) are suspected to be from Pakistan.

Two Lashkar terrorists killed in Anantnag encounter  

Some national political party leaders in the Kashmir Valley have welcomed the framing of charges against eight accused, including a Hurriyat leader, in selling MBBS seats in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The special NIA court has framed charges against eight accused, including a Hurriyat leader, in selling MBBS seats in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. A case under FIR No.05/2020 was registered in CIK/SIA on July 27, 2020 against unscrupulous persons who were hand in glove with some educational consultancies for arranging admission of J &amp; K residents in MBBS and other professional courses in various colleges, institutions, and universities in Pakistan.&nbsp;

According to the government, a huge amount of money was received in lien of such admission from the parents of the students, and the money so earned was ploughed into supporting terrorism in J&amp;K. It is pertinent to mention that recently, the Govt. of India/MCI issued notifications that professional degrees such as MBBS and other technical courses obtained from Pakistan will not be recognised in India.

The local BJP leaders have welcomed the step. "The first wrong thing is calling them Hurriyat leaders. Jammu and Kashmir Police have killed two terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in an encounter in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Police officers said that top the Pakistani LeT terrorist commander Haider was among the terrorists killed in the encounter and called it a big success.

Both were involved in the recent killings of civilians and police personnel.&nbsp;

The police were acting on specific information on the presence of terrorists in the Cheyan Devsar area of Kulgam, following which the police and army jointly launched a cordon and search operation.&nbsp;

“In the ensuing encounter, 2 terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT, including a Pakistani terrorist commander Haider, were killed and their bodies have been retrieved from the site of encounter. The other killed terrorist has been identified as Shahbaz Shah of Kulgam,” said Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir.

The police found arms and ammunition including, an AK-56 rifle with four Magazines, a Pistol, a UBGL grenade launcher, and ID Cards from the site of the encounter.

As per police records, deceased Haider was active for more than two years in North Kashmir and had recently shifted his base to South Kashmir.

He was involved in several terror crimes, civilian atrocities and various killings, including that of police personnel Mohammad Sultan and constable Fayaz Ahmad on November 10, 2021, at Gulshan Chowk, Bandipora.

Besides, he was also involved in an attack on a police party near Nishat Park Bandipora on February 11 this year, in which special police officer Zubair Ahmad was killed while four personnel were injured.&nbsp;

“The other killed terrorist Shahbaz Shah was a hybrid terrorist and was involved in the killing of a civilian Satish Kumar Singh on April 13 this year at Kakran area of Kulgam” Kumar said.

As India reels under heat wave, Kashmir temperatures at below 20 degrees

Indian Army's outgoing General-Officer-Commanding (GoC) 15 Corps Lt Gen D P Pandey today said that there is a threat to Amarnath Yatra, but countermeasures are in place. He also added that he had joined the ‘philosophy of breaking the cycle of violence in Kashmir’ and had succeeded.&nbsp;

''We hear a number of people talking about the Kashmir problem all the time. I believe it's not a Kashmir problem, but a problem in Kashmir. The wrong terminology if used maligns the land and people of the land and so is true about Kashmir. Although there would be some people who won’t be happy with the peaceful atmosphere, and they will keep on trying new methods to disrupt it. There is hope on the horizon. The Indian army GOC also said that while terrorists are being killed in encounters, they are also ensuring that local youth who have joined terror groups are given a chance to surrender. He said over 100 youth were brought back to the mainstream who had gone to join the terror ranks.&nbsp;

The GOC also spoke about the American weapon left in Afghanistan making their way to the Kashmir region. He said ''We have surely found equipment and especially night sights and some other equipment which has got the stamp of foreign make. The numbers are not so much to be alarmed about. Our challenge has been armour piercing bullets which have now been used in the last one year, we have taken adequate measures to counter such challenges. ''&nbsp;

While the situation on the Line of Control is peaceful, the Indian army GoC says that they expected the rise in infiltration attempts after Eid and still are watching the situation.

He said ''We have surely found equipment and especially night sights and some other equipment which has got the stamp of foreign make. The numbers are not so much to be alarmed about. Our challenge has been armour piercing bullets which have now been used in the last one year, we have taken adequate measures to counter such challenges. '' While the situation on the Line of Control is peaceful, the Indian army GoC says that they expected the rise in infiltration attempts after Eid and still are watching the situation. Police had an Input about the module working for the terror organisations operating in the valley. Based on specific information, a police team of Karnah police station led by its Station House Officer Mudasir Ahmed under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Syed Majeed arrested the trio from different localities of the area.&nbsp;

"The trio identified as Mohammed Amir, son of Mohammed Shakoor Kalas, Nisar Ahmad, son of Manzoor Kalas, residents of Hajitra Karnah and Kafeel Ahmad, son of Late Abdul Rehman Bhat, a resident of Sudhpora Karnah during their custodial interrogation revealed that they are involved in smuggling of arms and ammunition from across the LoC to further make it available to the active terrorists operating in the Valley," said Jammu and Kashmir Police.&nbsp;
