<p>"Smaller parties will get some seats, but they won't be in competition with the Awami League," noted&nbsp;Ambassador Sikri.</p>

<p>There are some reports which suggest that Islamist groups will be on the rise if the BNP opts out.</p>

<p>It points to the vacuum in the BNP leadership, with Khaleda Zia sick and her eldest son Tarique Rahman living in exile in London since September 2008. There is apprehension that Islamist groups might get more active in the party.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The process of radicalisation at the grassroots level is a big factor in Bangladesh, which is worrying," said&nbsp;Sikri.</p>

<p>"Sheikh Hasina has taken action against it and I would hope that such action would continue but I do not know how much effect did it have on the process of radicalisation. Because you do have the banned Islamist groups which are underground. The police know about it and they take action against these groups."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Recalling the Holey Artisan Bakery attack in Dhaka in 2016 where at least 22 people were reportedly killed by militants, Ambassador Sikri said, "After that, there was a lot of action."</p>

<p>"Students, farmers, and media should try to bring out the relationship between India and Bangladesh purely as a way of mutual benefit and not based on the role of religion and radicalisation. That should be completely kept out," the diplomat said. &nbsp;</p>

<p>A breakthrough brought closure to a nearly 25-year-old mystery as Kentucky State Police (KSP) in Mayfield successfully identified the human remains discovered on May 6, 1999, in Lake Barkley, Lyon County as that of Roger Dale Parham, a fugitive wanted by the FBI.&nbsp;Parham was arrested for rape involving a minor in 1998 but he disappeared while his trial was ongoing.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The case, shrouded in uncertainty for decades, saw a resolution through the aid of advanced DNA technology.</p>

<p>Initially found by two fishermen, the remains were intricately wrapped in heavy tire chains and anchored with a hydraulic jack. Traditional investigative techniques proved futile in identifying the male at the time, prompting an exhumation in 2016.</p>

<p>Despite exhaustive efforts, including DNA technology, dental examinations, forensic pathology, and other advanced forensic testing, the victim remained unidentified.</p>

<p>The turning point came in early 2023 when Kentucky State Police partnered with Othram Inc., a private forensic lab specialising in forensic genealogy.</p>

<p>This collaboration, alongside NAMUS, allowed for advanced genealogy DNA testing, leading to the identification of the remains as that of fugitive Roger Dale Parham.</p>

<p>The revelation triggered investigators who started to dig out a cascade of information about Parham.</p>

<p>"On November 21, 1998, Roger Dale Parham was arrested for rape involving a minor. He was subsequently released on bond with conditions, by the Circuit Court of Sebastian County, Arkansas, Fort Smith District. Parham's bond was revoked after he failed to appear on the charge of rape," as per FBI.</p>

<p>In March 1999, he disappeared, believed to have fled the area to escape prosecution. "On June 3, 1999, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. A federal arrest warrant was issued by the United States District Court, Western District of Arkansas, Fort Smith, Arkansas, on September 10, 1999, after Parham was charged federally with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution," an FBI statement added.</p>

<p>While the cause of Roger Parham's death remains undetermined, the circumstances surrounding the discovery of his remains have prompted investigators to treat the case as a homicide.</p>

He told me that he has been at the receiving end of such insults for twenty years and counting but the fact that it could happen to a Constitutional office like the Vice President of India and that too in the Parliament was unfortunate."</p>

<p>During the conversation, Dhankhar told Modi that the "antics of a few won’t prevent me from performing my duty and upholding the principles enshrined in our Constitution. I am committed to those values from the bottom of my heart. None of the insults will make me change my path."</p>

<p>As the Rajya Sabha reconvened at noon on Tuesday (Dec 19), Dhankhar, condemned the parody as "shameful and unacceptable." The parliament was adjourned on Tuesday (Dec 19) following an uproar over a recent security breach.</p>

<p>"Mimicry of the Chairman, mimicry of Speaker. How ridiculous, how shameful, how unacceptable," Dhankhar expressed.</p>
