Miandad, however, didn't mince his words and lashed out at his neighbouring country by saying 'India can go to hell' if they do not want to come to Pakistan for the continental tournament later this year. While his comments upset many Indians, and also a few from his own country, the former batter has now clarified his remark on Asia Cup row.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Miandad said, "Do you know what hell means? If you don’t want to play just don’t. We don’t have a problem. Ask the Indian cricketers. They’ll also say that there should be cricket between these two teams in their respective countries. It’ll benefit both nations."

Miandad added, “If they think that their (India) not coming to Pakistan makes any difference, let me tell you that it doesn’t. That’s what I meant. We are independent. Miandad also reflected on the previous tours and the love and respect between players from both countries. He recalled, "Earlier we used to go there and then they used to come here. When India came to play a series in Pakistan, there were so many people from India who also came to watch. There were no hotels available and the Lahore residents invited them to their houses. It had a very good impact on the relationships between the two countries.”

A final call on Asia Cup venue is expected to be taken in March 2023. PCB have remained firm on their stance to boycott 2023 ODI World Cup, in India, if Asia Cup is moved out of their country.

Ravi Shastri had a stellar run as Team India's head coach. Under him, India scaled new heights, especially in Test cricket, and even reached the semi-finals of the 2019 ODI World Cup. Before he was appointed as the full-time head coach, in mid-2017, Shastri also served as India's team manager (coming into the scene during India's pathetic Test series loss to hosts England) in 2014.

During the 2015 ODI World Cup, Shastri -- along with bowling and fielding coaches Bharat Arun and R Sridhar, respectively -- had joined then coach Duncan Fletcher in the support staff. Back then, Shastri and Sridhar didn't get off to a bright start. Sridhar was the newest in the coaching staff in 2015 when he was slammed by the former Indian all-rounder for not accepting his idea.

In his book 'Coaching Beyond: My Days with the Indian Cricket Team', Sridhar narrated the whole episode, “Ahead of the World Cup, Ravi decided that the players would speak at the team meetings. That at every meeting, the batters would speak of their game plans, how they would approach different situations, what their plans are for each bowler in the opposition. After that, all-rounders Ashwin and Jadeja would hold forth, and at the end, the fast bowlers would express their thoughts. It was a very good system, I felt, because ultimately it was the players who had to perform out in the middle,”&nbsp;he said.

Sridhar revealed, “We had a similar exercise the day before the game against South Africa at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. That evening, I was at my old friend Noel Carr's place in Melbourne for dinner when I got a call from Arun, asking for my views on this new introduction. I knew I could speak freely to Arun, so I told him, 'It's a great concept, but we should be careful how often we do it. It's a golden goose, we should not kill it. If we do this before every game, its effectiveness will diminish. I feel it's better if we have such sessions before key matches."

Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar suffered a huge blow, on Friday (February 03), with the International Testing Agency (ITA) confirming&nbsp;that she has been suspended for a period of 21 months -- effective until 10 July 2023 --&nbsp;for&nbsp;testing positive for the use of a prohibited substance (i.e. higenamine).

Dipa tested positive for higenamine (S3. Beta-2 Agonists as per the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited list) and, thus, paid the price and&nbsp;is being suspended. The positive sample was collected on behalf of the FÃ©dÃ©ration Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG). The suspension effectively means that the athlete's results will be disqualified starting on October 11, 2021.

"...I unknowingly ingested and could not determine the source of (the banned substance). I decided to take a provisional suspension with the hope of a swift resolution with the international federation," Karmakar said in a post on social media.
