<p>Reportedly, ever since Russia invaded Ukraine in February earlier this year, the American company had closed its shutters in the country. However, it has continued to pay its 10,000-odd workforce in the country for the last six months.</p>

<p>“We’ve spoken extensively to our employees who have expressed a strong desire to return to work and see our restaurants in Ukraine reopen. In recent months, the belief that this would support a small but important sense of normalcy has grown stronger.” Paul Pomroy, McDonald's senior vice-president said in a message to his staff.&nbsp;</p>

<p>There are 109 McDonald's outlets in Ukraine but the company did not specify which outlets in which region will be opening first. Reportedly, the company is initially looking to get in touch with its vendors and ensure that the supply chain constraints are sorted.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Once the supplies are back into the stores, the employees will be brought back amid safety measures as the war continues to linger.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Over the next few months, we will begin working with suppliers to get product to restaurants, making the physical properties ready to serve customers, bringing restaurant teams and employees back on site, and implementing enhanced procedures and protocols to support the safety of our people and customers,” added Pomroy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The return of McDonald's is expected to send a message to the international business community that even with a war transpiring, the businesses can still run. And Ukraine needs business to return as the war is quickly depleting its coffers. Economists are of the view that Ukraine's economy could shrink&nbsp;as much as 35 per cent by the end of the year.&nbsp;</p>

Biden signs the healthcare bill for military veterans; Republicans finally come on board

Moreover, a day after the revelation, some experts are questioning the integrity of the Justice Department as well as the Biden administration for not having released the threat report earlier. Reportedly, the final text of the Iran nuclear deal was discussed a few days earlier in Vienna. Meanwhile, the plot to kill Bolton had been in the works since 2020. Thus, questions are being raised about whether the DoJ kept mum all this time to give the Biden administration time to tie the loose ends of the nuclear deal. <p>Walt Disney Company on Wednesday released its third-quarter results which showed that its&nbsp;Disney+ streaming platform&nbsp;had added a whopping 14.4 million customers in the fiscal quarter, taking the total tally to 152.1 million.</p>

<p>Add the numbers from Hulu and ESPN+ and Disney appears to have overtaken&nbsp;Netflix, whose subscribers count stood at 220.7 million, as of July.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Disney CEO Bob Chapek in his&nbsp;presentation to investors stated, "We had an excellent quarter, with our world-class creative and business teams powering outstanding performance at our domestic theme parks, big increases in live-sports viewership, and significant subscriber growth at our streaming services."</p>

<p>The Disney boss further added, "With 14.4 million Disney+ subscribers added in the fiscal third quarter, we now have 221 million total subscriptions across our streaming offerings."</p>

<p>The announcement beat several forecasts as it was predicted that Dinsey+ might lose out on paying customers due to losing out on the streaming rights of lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) to Viacom 18, earlier this year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Disney+ goes by the name of Dinsey+ Hotstar in India and several other Asian markets and according to data released on Wednesday, the total number of subscribers from the region stood at 58.4 million, comfortably greater than the combined 44.5 million subscribers in US and Canada.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Moreover, Dinsey's revenue stood at&nbsp;$21.5 billion at the end of Q3, greater than most estimates which pegged the earnings to be around $20.68 billion.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Disney recently announced its slate of Marvel movies and TV series to be released in Phase 5. Additionally, shows such as&nbsp;The Mandalorian, Loki,&nbsp;Obi-Wan Kenobi, Moon Knight etc. have helped the platform to add new subscribers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking about bringing new storylines, Bob signed off by saying,&nbsp;“We continue to transform entertainment as we near our second century, with compelling new storytelling across our many platforms and unique immersive physical experiences that exceed guest expectations, all of which are reflected in our strong operating results this quarter.”</p>

<p>Braving the supply chain constraints, shortage of labour in the aftermath of a global pandemic and relentless quality checks by regulators, Boeing, one of the biggest aviation companies in the world has restarted its delivery of the 787 Dreamliner, for the first time since May 2021.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The twin-engine wide-body aircraft was delivered to American Airlines at Boeing’s North Charleston, South Carolina plant. The company&nbsp;has an additional&nbsp;42&nbsp;787s on order.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Robert Isom, CEO of American Airlines took to Instagram to share the news and stated that it was the first of the nine jets that his company seeks to receive delivery by the end of the year.</p>

<p>"This is an exciting day for @AmericanAir as we took delivery of our first @Boeing 787-8 since April 2021. The 787 is an important part of American’s fleet and this is the first of nine 787s we expect to receive this year. Boeing delivers its first 787 Dreamliner in over a year

<p>Taking a welcome step toward inclusivity and breaking the glass ceiling, India's civil aviation regulatory body, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday, for the first time, issued medical guidelines that will allow transgenders and non-binary individuals to fly aeroplanes in the country.</p>

<p>DGCA in its circular stated that transgender candidates, who have completed their hormone therapy for transition or have gone under the knife more than five years ago, will be able to fly the planes, after clearing mental health screening tests.</p>

<p>The mental health tests will be based on the blueprint laid out by World Professional Association for Transgender Health.</p>

<p>“Those transgender applicants who have been taking hormone therapy or had a gender reassignment surgery within the last five years will be screened for their mental health status,” read the circular.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As for those individuals who have completed their treatment within the last five years, they will have to undergo not only psychological and psychiatric evaluations but also submit a detailed evaluation from their endocrinologist as well as surgeon about any surgery that might have taken place in the last year.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, those who have started the therapy or gone under the knife only recently will be deemed medically 'unfit' and will have to wait for a period of three months to seek another attempt.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>“If the applicant is on hormone replacement therapy (as applicable), as with any medication, on commencement of hormone therapy or any change in the drug or adjustment of its dose, the applicant will be declared medically ‘unfit’ for at least three months,” it added.</p>

<p>According to DGCA, the medical guidelines are applicable for all categories of pilot's licence viz. private pilot’s licence, student’s pilot licence and commercial pilot licence.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, a caveat of transgender persons being allowed to only fly as first officers has been added. In case a transgender pilot is the pilot-in-command, their co-pilot ought to have 250 hours of experience on that machine.</p>
