<p>"I've been saying it for at least 5 years that the frequency of these lynchings is only going to increase. According to initial reports, a cleric by the name of Maulana Nigar Alam said "I love Imran Khan like I love prophets"," tweeted the user.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If reports are to be believed, the&nbsp;USA, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and India may soon develop a&nbsp; joint infrastructure that connects Gulf and Arab countries via a railway network and also extends to India via shipping lanes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The proposal for the infrastructure could be discussed on Sunday as the&nbsp;national security advisers (NSAs) of these&nbsp;countries meet in Saudi Arabia, according to a report by Axios.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The initiative would include connecting Arab countries in the Levant and the Gulf via a network of railways that will also connect to India through seaports in the Gulf," the publication noted.&nbsp;</p>

<p>US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan has reportedly planned the meeting of&nbsp;Saudi-UAE-India NSAs and is expected to push forward the idea.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Notably, the seeds of such a joint infrastructure programme were first laid out over 18 months ago in another forum called I2U2 which comprises the likes of the India, Israel, US and UAE. The forum established in late 2021 discussed strategic infrastructure projects in the Middle East.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sullivan hinted at picking up from where the discussion was left, during his speech earlier this week at the&nbsp;Washington Institute for Near East Policy.</p>

<p>“If you remember nothing else from my speech, remember I2U2, because you will be hearing more about it as we go forward," he said.</p>

<p>Iran's Revolutionary Guard's intelligence unit in a letter marked 'top secret' and dated October 24, 2022, informed&nbsp;Tehran's prosecutor that "Karimi's recent activities were instigated by his wife Sahar Davari and her family".</p>

<p>Notably, Davari's father,&nbsp;Gholamali Davari had been executed in the late 1980s on charges of being a member of&nbsp;the Communist Tudeh Party. The documents claimed that Karimi's in-laws, on his behalf wanted to sell his mansion in&nbsp;Lavasan to&nbsp;emigrate permanently.</p>

<p>As for selling the mansion, Karim refuted the claims and said,&nbsp;"Security forces raided the place and brutally beat up the janitor.&nbsp;My neighbours tell me lights are on some nights and plain-clothes agents are seen going in and out."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Karimi made his international debut for Iran in 1998 at the age of 19 and went on to make 127 career appearances. He represented the country at four Asian Games as well as the 2006 FIFA World Cup. However, despite giving his all for the country, Karimi and his family have been forced to move out to the UAE to an undisclosed location. If he returns, the ban would mean he would not be able to leave the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Notably, Karimi is not the only Iranian footballer to have been at the receiving end from the authorities. Last year, legendary footballer Ali Daei claimed that&nbsp;his wife and daughter were not allowed to travel out of the country after a flight carrying them was re-routed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Previously, reports emerged that Daei's two shops situated in Tehran's fashionable north were shut down, following a judicial order.&nbsp;Daei has been a vocal supporter of the Iranian anti-government protests that have been going on.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I have received numerous threats against myself and my family in recent months and days from some organisations, medias and unknown individuals," said Daei in an Instagram post.</p>

<p>"I was taught humanity, honour, patriotism and freedom...What do you want to achieve with such threats?" he added.&nbsp;</p>

Iran football star Ali Karimi put under travel ban, reveal leaked documents

<p>Nearly a fortnight after launching ‘Operation Kaveri’ to bring back stranded citizens from the conflict-ridden country of Sudan, the Indian government on Friday wrapped up the evacuation programme.</p>

<p>The Indian Air Force C130 flight brought the final batch of 47 passengers home which culminated the&nbsp;highly laborious and dangerous operation. In total, 3,862 people were moved out of Sudan, informed&nbsp;External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar on Twitter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"An Indian Air Force C130 J flight carrying 47 passengers has landed in India. With this arrival, 3862 persons have been moved out of Sudan through #OperationKaveri," said Jaishankar.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The EAM also appreciated the countries that helped New Delhi evacuate its citizens safely.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"From Jeddah, airforce and commercial flights have brought people home. We are grateful to Saudi Arabia for hosting them and facilitating this process. Also appreciate the support of Chad, Egypt, France, South Sudan, UAE, UK, USA and UN," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Indian Air Force chauffeured 17 flights from Sudan while five Indian Navy ships were also involved in the evacuation process.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Jaishankar&nbsp;lauded Union Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan, who was present in Saudi Arabia to oversee the rescue efforts. Muraleedharan's presence on the ground was a source of strength and reassurance, he said.</p>

India wraps up ‘Operation Kaveri’ after bringing 3,862 citizens back home from Sudan

<p>Ever since Elon Musk took over Twitter, the company has been attempting to find new ways to generate revenues. One such avenue was the launch of the Twitter Blue subscription service in November last year. However, nearly six months on, it appears that Twitter Blue might be struggling massively as over half of the early adopters are no longer subscribed to the service.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Musk's version of the subscription service has only been able to convert around 640,000 users into Twitter Blue subscribers as of the end of April, according to a Mashable report.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, the more telling statistic is that of nearly 150,000 early Twitter Blue subscribers, only 68,157 have stuck around and maintained the subscription which costs $8 per month ($11 on mobile). Meaning over 80,000 or 54.5 per cent of users had cancelled their subscriptions.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The high churn rate (the percentage of users that unsubscribe from a service) of Twitter Blue has surprised domain experts. For an online subscription service, such a rate is abnormally high and one that is not sustainable in the long run. According to a study, the average churn rate for subscription-based businesses stands at around 5.57 per cent.&nbsp;</p>

<p>One of the major reasons for early adopters to not stick around with the service might be Twitter's decision to disable new signups shortly after the launch. Notably, after scammers and pranksters used Twitter Blue to create havoc by changing their names to popular personalities and entities, the company was forced to press pause on the service.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the government's case, Schwartz began chasing down any retreating officers he could find and dousing them with pepper spray as he surged through the crowd into the lower west terrace tunnel wielding a wooden club.</p>

<p>A welder by trade, Schwartz was arrested in early February in his hometown of Uniontown, Pennsylvania.<br />
Schwartz and two co-defendants, Jeffrey Scott Brown and Markus Maly became the first three individuals convicted at trial of assaulting police officers with pepper spray on January 6.</p>

<p>Brown, of Santa Ana, California, was sentenced last month to four and a half years in prison. Maly, of Fincastle, Virginia, is awaiting sentencing. Schwartz's wife, Shelly Stallings, received a two-year prison term last month.</p>

<p>In an escalation of his feud with&nbsp;Disney, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Friday signed a bill into law that&nbsp;gives a new board he controls, the power to void development agreements with the entertainment giant, signed by a predecessor body.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Under the new law,&nbsp;a new board appointed by DeSantis to govern the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, which houses the Walt Disney World resort can cancel any deals signed up to three months before the board's creation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Make no mistake about it, the reason why the legislature had to act was not because of anything we did," said DeSantis at a press conference on Friday.</p>

<p>"It was basically born out of Disney’s arrogance that they would be able to subcontract around the duly enacted laws of the state of Florida. That's wrong."</p>

<p>The new oversight body has also ruled out Disney's plans for potential expansion of Disney World in Orlando stating it does not comply with the state law.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We have a fundamental disagreement in this state, in terms of what we think is appropriate for children, and what the people in Burbank, California, think is appropriate," DeSantis added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In what comes as an unfortunate incident, a woman plummeted to her death at an Indonesian airport after forcing open the wrong set of doors of a lift and falling down the shaft. The incident was caught on CCTV cameras showing the last few minutes of the woman, identified as 38-year-old Aisiah Sinta Dewi.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Dewi had gone to Kualanamu Airport in Medan, Northern Indonesia on April 24 to meet her niece at the check-in area. In the video footage, Dewi calmly walks into the double-sided cabin and pushed the button for the second floor before looking at her phone. Unaware that the lift opened on the other side as well, a confused Dewi started pressing the emergency buttons frantically and called her niece about the distressing situation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She later started to pry open the door and somehow managed to successfully do it. However, unfortunately, without looking down, she stepped out and plunged down the gap into the lift shaft.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Family's request to airport authority</strong></h2>

<p>The family of the deceased asked the airport authorities to look for her&nbsp;after losing contact. But they could not make any progress, saying she was not found in the airport terminal.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The body was only found when passengers complained of a foul smell emanating from the lift. After the authorities investigated the smell, they stumbled upon Dewi's rotting body which had been lying in the shaft for three days. The lift, however, was working fine.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Dewi's brother Raja Hasibuan blamed the authorities and their poor elevator security as the reason for her sister's death.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We asked for the video from the elevator because it was there that we lost contact with her," said Hasibuan. "This is an international-level airport. How are safety standards like this? And the response from the staff was very, very unsatisfactory."</p>

<p>Dedi Al Subur, the airport's head of corporate communications, blamed the accident on lift malfunction, stating that Dewi herself tried to prise the doors open.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The local law enforcement agencies have now opened an investigation into the matter. They have so far questioned 12 witnesses, including airport officers and security personnel. The police added they were awaiting the results of the&nbsp;forensic examination to take further action.&nbsp;</p>
