Amid escalating chaos and gang violence in Haiti, the nation's Prime Minister Ariel Henry said on Monday night he will resign as soon as a transition council and a temporary leader are chosen.&nbsp;

Henry had assumed the role, unelected, in 2021 after the assassination of the country's last president, Jovenel Moïse. He was also the acting president since Moïse's death.

However, the latest announcement doesn't make&nbsp;it clear when it will happen.&nbsp;

"The government that I am leading will resign immediately after the installation of (a transition) council,"&nbsp;Henry&nbsp;said in a late night video address.

"I'm asking all Haitians to remain calm and do everything they can for peace and stability to come back as fast as possible," he added.&nbsp;

New Zealand authorities said an investigation was underway following Monday's incident involving a technical problem aboard a Boeing plane.

The Chilean General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics said New Zealand air safety investigators will lead the probe into the incident, with Chilean help.&nbsp;

At least 50 passengers sustained injuries, with one being critical, after a technical problem caused a “strong movement” aboard an international flight from Sydney to Auckland on Monday afternoon (Mar 11). As per media reports, 13 patients were transported to Middlemore Hospital by ambulance. The incident occurred at 3:58 pm local time onboard a Chilean airline LATAM aircraft.

Hato Hone St John, a charity that provides ambulance services in New Zealand, said more than 10 vehicles were rushed to the airport in the aftermath of the incident.

LATAM Airlines flight LA800 was flying from Sydney to Auckland when it encountered a technical problem.

“The plane landed at Auckland Airport as scheduled. As a result of the incident, some passengers and cabin crew were affected. They received immediate assistance and were evaluated or treated by medical staff at the airport as needed,” an airline spokesperson was quoted as saying by New Zealand Herald.

The passenger mentioned that she saw at least five people being taken away by paramedics upon landing. She expressed relief at arriving safely in New Zealand and admitted she didn't realise how serious the situation was for other passengers.

The report claims that China has been extending economic and security assistance to Russia as it wages war against Ukraine by supporting the industrial base of Moscow.

The report further warned that China can use the technology to influence the US elections this year.
