Barnett, who worked at Boeing for 32 years, was found dead by apparent suicide, according to authorities in South Carolina. On Tuesday, the Charleston County coroner's office said that Barnett died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. An investigation into the matter is underway. Speaking to ABC News affiliate WPDE, Barnett's friend Jennifer said, "I know that he did not commit suicide. There's no way." Jennifer said that she and Barnett talked about this exact scenario playing out. 'It's not suicide' Jennifer said that when she needed help one day, Barnett came to see her. The two talked about his upcoming deposition in Charleston. She knew that her friend filed an extremely damaging complaint against Boeing. "That's why they made it look like a suicide," she said. The last time Jennifer saw Barnett was at her father's funeral last month. 'Subjected to hostile work environment' Barnett worked as a quality manager at Boeing and left the company in 2017. According to a report by the news agency Reuters, the 62-year-old's lawyers Robert Turkewitz and Brian Knowles said that he was in the middle of a deposition in an ongoing whistleblower retaliation case against Boeing. "He was in very good spirits and really looking forward to putting this phase of his life behind him and moving on. We didn't see any indication he would take his own life. No one can believe it," they said. The lawyers also said that their client had exposed very "serious safety problems with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and was retaliated against and subjected to a hostile work environment." The LATAM airline Flight 800, on Monday (Mar 11) was flying from Sydney, Australia to Auckland, New Zealand when it suddenly plunged mid-air, tossing passengers, who were not wearing seatbelts, into the cabin ceiling and aisles.&nbsp;

The terrifying drop left at least 50 people injured, out of which 13 were hospitalised. However, the plane did not make an emergency landing and arrived at Auckland Airport as scheduled.&nbsp;

The memo by Boeing also came a day after a report by the Wall Street Journal, on Thursday (Mar 14) said that a flight attendant serving a meal in the cockpit hit a switch on the back of a seat which caused a motorised feature to push the pilot into controls and led the plane to nose-dive.&nbsp;

The report cited anonymous US industry officials who had been briefed on preliminary findings from the investigation.&nbsp;

The WSJ report also said that the US-based plane maker asked the airlines to make sure that the switch which reportedly caused the mishap was securely covered and included instructions on how to turn off the power to the seat motor that is not meant to be used when the pilot is in the seat.

Both Boeing and LATAM have refused to comment citing the ongoing investigation.&nbsp;

As per the officials, they were able to discover the loss of the external panel only after the plane landed safely at an Oregon airport.

United Airlines Flight 433 had taken off from San Francisco around 10:20 a.m. local time and was&nbsp;able to land safely at Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport about 70 minutes later, as per the airport officials and flight data.

In a statement to the New York Post, airport director Amber Judd said that once the plane came close to the gate, the officials found an external panel missing.&nbsp;

Immediately after finding&nbsp;the panel was&nbsp;missing, operations were halted at the airport while the officials conducted a runway safety check, said airport director Amber Judd, while speaking to The New York Post.

<h2>United Airlines ensures “thorough examination”</h2>

United Airlines clarified that they have plans to carry out a “thorough examination” of the 25-year-old plane and they will “perform all the needed repairs before it returns to service.”

“We’ll also conduct an investigation to better understand how this damage occurred,” the airline said.

A spokesperson added that the Federal Aviation Administration will further investigate the incident.

“I could not be the man I am and abandon the fight at this point,” said the Canadian PM, in an interview with French-language broadcaster Radio-Canada where he also spoke about the personal sacrifices of his job.&nbsp;

When asked if the Canadian PM had thought about quitting, he laughed and said, “I think about quitting every day. It’s a crazy job I’m doing, making the personal sacrifices.”

He added, “Of course, it’s super tough, it’s super not great at times.”

More than 2.3 million people, who were living in the Gaza Strip, have been displaced due to the conflict. During aid distribution, several deadly incidents and chaotic situations have been reported as people scramble&nbsp;for food.

Palestinian health authorities on February 29 had said that Israeli forces killed more than 100 Palestinians&nbsp;who were waiting for an aid delivery near Gaza City.

As per the residents, Israeli aerial and ground bombardments continued overnight across the Gaza Strip, including in the Rafah border where nearly a million displaced people have taken shelter.

The ruling by US district judge Aileen Cannon came after a day-long hearing in federal court in Fort Pierce, Florida where Trump's team alleged that the charges against him were "unconstitutionally vague" and the judge expressed doubts about the ex-president's objections to the case.

Donald Trump had asked the judge to dismiss the indictment against him on several fronts. One argument labelled "dubious" by The Guardian contended that the Espionage Act was "unconstitutionally vague" because it did not clearly define penalties for a former president retaining classified documents.

Another argument centred on the Republican's — who just so happens to be a major contender in the 2024 Presidential race — assertion that as President he was allowed under the Presidential Records Act to designate classified documents as personal records, thereby permitting him to keep them at his Mar-a-Lago club.

However, Cannon, appointed by Trump himself, appeared unconvinced by both arguments. While she did not immediately rule from the bench, she swiftly denied the vagueness argument after the hearing concluded.

"Although the Motion raises various arguments warranting serious consideration, the Court ultimately determines, following lengthy oral argument, that resolution of the overall question presented depends too greatly on contested instructional questions about still-fluctuating definitions of statutory terms/phrases as charged," she wrote, as quoted by CNN.

It is widely anticipated that the claim based on the Presidential Records Act will also be dismissed. "It was a long-awaited, delightful ruling which makes me cry", plaintiff Eri Nakaya told reporters after the verdict.

The plaintiffs are considering appealing to the Supreme Court to clarify the unconstitutionality of existing law, lawyer Fumiyasu Tsunamori told a news briefing.

The government will eye other upcoming court decisions, its top spokesperson, Yoshimasa Hayashi, told a briefing.

Masakazu Yanagisawa, a senior executive at Goldman Sachs in Tokyo who sits on the board of rights group Marriage for All&nbsp;Japan, said the country risked being left behind in the hunt for global talent if it did not revise its civil code.

"There is a growing risk that&nbsp;Japan&nbsp;will be left behind by international trends and excluded from being an option as a place to work," said Yanagisawa.
