After being alerted to the incident late Sunday, a navy patrol towed the adrift, long, wooden fishing boat known as a pirogue to the port of Dakar where it arrived around 06:00 am (GMT) Monday, the statement said.

A team of doctors, fire service personnel, and sanitation workers awaited the convoy's arrival, it added.

"Recovery, identification, and transfer operations are being made extremely delicate by the advanced state of decomposition of the bodies," the army statement said.

"So far, 30 bodies have been counted."

Senegal's coasts are one of the main departure points for scores of migrants hoping to reach Europe every year, many heading for the Spanish Canary Islands.

The Atlantic route is particularly perilous because of the strong currents, and every year officials record thousands of deaths and disappearances from overloaded, often unseaworthy boats.&nbsp;

At least 39 people died in mid-September when a boat carrying migrants sank off the western port town of Mbour.

Following the tragedy, Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye vowed to "relentlessly track down" migrant traffickers and called on young people to stay in the West African country.

More than 22,000 migrants have already landed in the Canary Islands so far this year, more than twice the number from the previous year.

During a three-day West African tour at the end of August, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez signed agreements with Senegal, The Gambia, and Mauritania to promote legal migration.

The accords establish a framework for regular entry into Spain-based on labour needs.

French aviation company Dassault has reportedly set up a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Noida, near the Indian national capital Delhi. The facility will help the Indian Air Force service its fleet of Rafale and Mirage 2000 fighter jets. An official quoted by news agencies said that the new company, named Dassault Aviation Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul India (DAMROI) will begin operations in six months and eventually expand operations.

According to media reports, Posina Venkata Rao has been named as the head of the new entity. Rao has been linked with Dassault Aviation in India for many decades and has been closely involved in their campaigns in India.

"The French firm recently informed the Defence Ministry and the Indian Air Force about setting up a new Indian company Dassault Aviation Maintenance Repair and Overhaul India (DAMROI) to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul support for the French-origin fighter aircraft in India," a top defence official was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Karaki is in charge of Hezbollah's so-called "Southern Front," responsible for the terror group’s military activity in south Lebanon. He&nbsp;happens to be the third in command&nbsp;of Hezbollah's armed forces and&nbsp;is the senior-most figure in Hezbollah after the assassinations of senior commanders Fuad Shukr, and Ibrahim Aqil.

According to a Sky News Arabic report citing a Lebanese military source, Karaki was killed in the Israeli airstrike. Reportedly, three missiles struck the building in which the Hezbollah commander was staying.

As per reports, he was set to replace Aqil as the head of the group's operations division.

Ibrahim Aqil, also known as Tahsin, served in Hezbollah's&nbsp;highest military body, the Jihad Council. He also led the elite Radwan Force, the outfit's top military unit. He&nbsp;was assassinated on Friday (Sep 20) evening along with the commanders of the Radwan Force in a Beirut basement on Friday.

Confirming his death, the Israeli military said Aqil and&nbsp;his troops had&nbsp;gathered underground when they were targeted and killed in an airstrike.

“They gathered underground, under a residential building, in the heart of the Dahiyeh, while using civilians as a human shield. They met to coordinate terror activities against Israeli civilians,” said Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari.&nbsp;

Aqil was the second-in-command of Hezbollah's armed forces, after&nbsp;Fuad Shukr, who was also killed in an Israeli strike in July.&nbsp;

Spanish police arrested five people on Monday (Sep 23) for scamming two women of 325,000 euros ($361,261) by posing as Hollywood star Brad Pitt via online and WhatsApp messages.

The suspects made contact with the women via a fan page of the Oscar-winning actor and made them believe that “they had a sentimental relationship with him,” Spain’s Guardia Civil police said in a statement on Monday.

The members of the gang, posing as Pitt, allegedly encouraged the women to invest in various projects related to the Hollywood star that did not exist in real.

One woman, from the southern region of Andalusia, was defrauded of €175,000 ($195,000), while the other, from the northern Basque Country, lost €150,000 ($ 170,000).

“The cybercriminals, to capture the victims, had studied their social networks and made a psychological profile of them, thus discovering that both women were two vulnerable people, lacking in affection and in a state of depression,” police said.

The fraudsters also used instant messaging platforms like WhatsApp to exchange messages and emails with the two women until they reached a point where they believed they were chatting via WhatsApp with Brad Pitt himself, who promised them a romantic relationship and a future together.

According to an NBC News report, beyond the immediate risks associated with pregnancy and childbirth, women in Texas have increasingly struggled to access prenatal care, exacerbating fears and creating more health risks for mothers-to-be.

Doctors, like Austin-based OB-GYN Dr. Leah Tatum, have reported a rise in sterilisation requests as women face anxiety about the consequences of unintended pregnancies under SB 8.&nbsp;

In one tragic case, a woman named Kaitlyn Kash was forced to travel to Kansas for an abortion after her foetus was diagnosed with a fatal condition. Due to the Texas ban, she was unable to terminate her pregnancy locally and had to endure the ordeal of being treated like a "criminal" during an already painful time.

"I was being treated like a criminal…I didn't get the dignity that I deserved to say goodbye to my child," said Kash.

"UN High Commissioner Volker Turk calls on all states and actors with influence in the region and beyond to avert further escalation and do everything they can to ensure full respect for international law," Ravina Shamdasani, the spokesperson for Turk said at a Geneva press briefing.

"The methods and means of warfare that are being used raise very serious concerns about whether this is compliant with international humanitarian law," she added.

Asked about reports that Israel had warned people through phone messages ahead of the strikes, she said: "Whether you've sent out a warning you're telling civilians to flee doesn't make it okay to then strike those areas, knowing full well that the impact on civilians will be huge."

At the same press briefing, Abdinasir Abubakar, a World Health Organization (WHO) official in Lebanon, said that some hospitals in the country were "overwhelmed" by the thousands of wounded people arriving. At least four healthcare workers had been killed on Monday, he added.
