With Republicans set to take back control of the Senate, which must confirm judicial nominees, Trump should enjoy an easy path to filling possible vacancies on the US&nbsp;Supreme Court and the expected 100-plus seats that will likely open up on lower courts across the nation.

"Trump remade the federal judiciary in his first term, and now he has the opportunity to cement that vision for an entire generation," John Collins, a professor at George Washington University Law School, said in an email.

A new round of Trump-appointed, life-tenured judges would result in a more conservative federal judiciary that would be more likely to cast a sceptical eye on environmental, financial and other regulations and to uphold Trump's agenda in the face of legal challenges.

Representatives for Trump did not respond to a request for comment.

During his first four years in office, Trump's 234 judicial appointments included three US&nbsp;Supreme Court justices, giving the high court its 6-3 conservative majority, and 54 judges named to 13 intermediate appeals courts. While Trump in his first term from 2017 to 2020 turned to the Federalist Society's Leonard Leo as an adviser on judicial nominees, the Republican this time has surrounded himself with different conservative allies focused on judicial nominees.

The cases filed against social media platforms As per the Toronto Star report, the 14 schools filed separate but similar cases in Ontario's Superior Court of Justice, alleging Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat rewired the way children "rewired the way children think, behave, and learn," that has cost them (schools) billions in staff supports and resources. Jiang Ping, a fashion design student from a rural town, was hailed in June after she was ranked 12 in the qualifiers of an international maths contest run by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba.

The Chinese media reported that Pong was the first finalist who came from a lowly vocational school since the competition began in 2018. The rest of the finalists, 800 in total, were from elite universities.&nbsp;

As per media reports, the organisers said in a statement, "This has exposed problems like inadequacies in the competition format and the lack of rigour in supervision. We sincerely apologise."

The annual mathematics contest, hosted by Damo Academy (Alibaba’s research institute), is open to contestants from institutions across the world.

In 2024, Jiang, a student at Jiangsu Lianshui Secondary Vocational School, outperformed the rest of the finalists who were from various prestigious institutes.&nbsp;

Local media outlets reported that she chose the vocational school because she was interested in fashion design and her sibling along with her friends were also in the same school.

After the confirmed actions in the case, many people on social media said that Ping was not the only culprit in the case. She was brought into such an act by adults and now she has been forced to suffer all the consequences.&nbsp;

"It's not huge if you look at the fiscal shortfalls due to the economic slowdown and land sales slump. The money is used to replace hidden debts, which means it doesn't create new work flows, so the support to GDP growth is not that direct."

The debt swaps, flagged in a Reuters report last week, aim to resolve local debt risks, Xu Hongcai, the vice chairman of the financial and economic affairs committee of the NPC, told a press conference in Beijing.

Finance Minister Lan, sitting next to Xu, said authorities will issue policies to support state sector purchases of unsold apartments and reclaim undeveloped residential land from property developers, as well as replenish the capital of big state banks.

Lan did not give details on the size or timing of those measures.

"Cities are growing unchecked" and the spread of trash they bring means more food supply for scorpions, Chiariello said.

People are encountering more and more scorpions, leading to more reports of being stung by the arachnid.

"This is leading to more contact with people, which means more accidents."

According to Brazil's health ministry, more than 200,000 scorpion sting incidents were registered last year, a 250 per cent increase from a decade earlier. As per data, 152 people died of scorpion stings in Brazil in 2023, and 140 from snakebites. In 2019, 95 deaths by scorpion sting were recorded.

Scorpion stings can lead to several other problems. Healthy adults might get mild to moderate symptoms from a Brazilian yellow scorpion sting, including pain, vomiting, profuse sweating and tremors.
