The United States has approved the proposed sale of spare parts for fighter jets and radar systems as well as communications equipment to&nbsp;Taiwan, in deals valued at $385 million, a US agency said Friday.

The proposed sale of the F-16 and radar system parts consists of equipment in existing US military stocks and was worth an estimated $320 million, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said in a statement, with deliveries estimated to start in 2025.

A separate sale involving follow-on support and equipment for a tactical communications system was worth $65 million, the DSCA said.

A pioneer of artificial intelligence has sent out an ominous warning, not about the technology itself, but about the people controlling it. Canadian computer scientist Yoshua Bengio, in an interview with CNBC, said that there are some elite tech moguls who want to replace humans with AI, Futurism reported.

Bengio is one of the people referred to as the Godfather of AI. He had earlier also raised alarm about AI and was one of the public signatories of the "Right to Warn" open letter penned by leading AI researchers at OpenAI. They claimed that the technology poses several dangers and they're being forced not to speak about them.

Speaking during the One Young World Summit in Montreal, Bengio said, "Intelligence gives power. So who’s going to control that power?"&nbsp;

"There are people who might want to abuse that power, and there are people who might be happy to see humanity replaced by machines," Bengio claimed.&nbsp;

The 21-year-old man, who was arrested in eastern China and spent his university fee on travelling instead of enrolling, used to place dead cockroaches, other insects, and condoms in the rooms when his funds ran out.&nbsp;

He used to blackmail hotels seeking free accommodation along with compensation.&nbsp;

Jiang started his travel journey in September this year when he received the money to enroll into university but he decided to ditch that idea and go to travel instead.&nbsp;

But when Jiang ran out of money while travelling and staying at hotels, he came up with a "creative" idea. He prepared a collection of props, including dead and living insects, used condoms, and strands of hair, to fabricate the sanitary condition of the hotel rooms he used to check-in.&nbsp;

“Over 10 months, Jiang frequently stayed at hotels, sometimes checking into three or four different ones in a single day. He would exploit minor flaws or plant insects, bugs, and hair to threaten hotels with complaints or online exposure, demanding free stays or compensation,” police told My News.&nbsp;

Many of the hotels he blackmailed responded with compensation to save their reputation. But on August 8, a hotel manager reported Jiang to the police for extorting money by alleging hygiene issues.&nbsp;

“His complaints about supposed bugs and hair in the rooms were alarming. Upon discussing these incidents with several other hotels, we noticed a recurring pattern with this guest,” one of the scammed hotel staff told My News.&nbsp;
