According to a U.N. report, organizations connected to the Taliban and al-Qaeda, like Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, were transferring weapons of the NATO caliber to ISIL-K, and member states expressed concern over the spread of military hardware throughout Afghanistan and into nearby countries.
