India’s defence allocation for the union budget 2026–27 has been raised to 7.85 lakh crore rupees,
Marking an increase of nearly 15 percent over the previous year’s budget estimates.
The allocation is the first major defence budget presented after operation sindoor .
In absolute terms, defence continues to receive the highest allocation among all ministries.
