Imphal: Protests over killing of firewood collectors
Three people were killed and three others injured after suspected militants ambushed firewood collectors along the Imphal East–Kangpokpi border in Manipur. Three people remained missing after the attack, officials said. The killings sparked protests in Imphal, where locals placed two victims’ bodies outside Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh’s residence.
