Tourists are pouring into northern Chile ahead of a total solar eclipse that will take place on Tuesday and which has already generated an intense demand on services in the area - one of the best sites in the world to observe astronomical phenomena. In the region of Coquimbo, hotel rooms and airline tickets have been sold out for months due to interest by tourists and astronomical experts. Coquimbo's La Silla observatory will host national and foreign scientists travelling to the area to observe the eclipses.
